The currents nearby have submerged a coastal cavern nearby. It shouldn't be too hard to navigate towards the cave.

Finding the pathfinder's body is of secondary importance.
The artifact is the main objective.

And so the team commandeers (borrows from an unknowing fisherman) a rowingboat, and sets off towards the partially sumberged cavern.

After twenty minutes, you arrive at the approximate location.
While not in immediate sight, a little careful looking reveals the tip of a rocky surface.

Unfortunately, it is high tide this morning, and the water sloshes around near rocky outcrops.

A Dc 15 swim check is required to safely navigate past the rocks, and enter the cavern.

I reckon Lot would be sitting on everybody's heads, if you want to use 1 average sized rowingboat to transport the 4 of you plus Lot.
Climbing rocky outcroppings from out of the water is no simple thing for a quadruplet either.

I've checked the net and, while eagles are said to swim across surfaces after diving a little too far, they don't dive live humanoids would to reach underwater caves.

Despite his heavy armor, Spenser makes valiant effort, and emerges at the cavern's landing.

Sele is struggling, but Vassago is less Lucky, and the torrent smacks him against the rocks.

Minerals in the walls and ceiling reflect light onto the surface of the pool, giving the cave a weird, undulating illumination.
The air reeks of brine and the foul odor of death. Scattered around are skeletal remains in what is left of tattered clothing.

You hear chittering, and into sight come two large crabs.

With a frown of concern Harlis steps out from his cover to better see the situation, holding aloft his sword to reveal their foes in its light. "Blaze of light! Your sword is your not your strength, but your heart! Inheritor guide you." He calls to the new-found Pathfinders while pointing his blade forward with an elaborate flourish.

Invoking Iomedae's Divine Fighting Technique: Allies within 30 feet who can see the display gain a +2 sacred bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks for 2 rounds.

Also note that Harlis' sword glows with a light spell of 40' radius, not the normal 20'.

As Harlis fills the team with divine energies, Sele makes good use of it, and cleaves the crab in half.

Which was not going to happen, seemingly, Sele casually places his sword before the crab, blocking the movement for it.

At that time, the sound of hundreds of chitin moving comes from the east, and from the natural stairs, comes a blanket of crabs.

A swarm of crabs assaults Sele.
