Spenser Quixote |
"Ha-HA! Thou jest! We were girt with fine gladiia, no percussion, save perhaps the crushing weight of Vassago's spirit-monsoons - and more to heart of the matter, 'twas no trifling 'argument,' but swich bellumagoria a-right from THE STORIIIIIEEEEEES!!!"
"Gads...but to match mind and main with a dragon...had but a keen-lipped Bard been present...." The good Marquis's distant gaze and manic grin are even more distant and manic than usual.
Sele the Thorn |
Talking to everyone else but Spenser
"See.. he doesn't even realise it!! The dragon was right to flee before that rhetoric.. verily so."
GM Chyro |
"A dragon!?
By the gods.....i would consider you both Lucky and skilled, facing off against such a creature."
"If you could write down any specifics on this parchment, then i can document and archive it for our scholars, on a further expedition, to study."
He nods in appreciation.
"If you'd like, i will buy you all a round. After all, i know a fine establishment nearby."

Kenji Nishida |
Kenji writes down everything he recalls from when he was conscious... including detailed maps of the complex we were in and how to get there. has profession: cartographer, so making simple maps should be fairly easy
GM Chyro |
Ok, let's get going with Sniper in the Deep
Adril Hestram, a venture-captain with a severe face and an even more severe disposition, stands with his eyes locked in a gaze of professional appraisal, his hairy arms folded tightly over his powerful chest.
Finally, after a long moment, he heaves a weary sigh, allowing his shoulders to slump as if defeated, and says, "All right, fine. I don’t have time to be picky. I need you to go to the Lusty Mermaid in the Docks.
One of our Pathfinders, an aging man by the name of Airk Jarigan, hasn’t reported in for two weeks. He’s supposedly close to finding a priceless Andoren artifact called The Sniper, lost right here in Absalom, or so he’s been claiming. As the sun isn’t even up yet, he’s probably still asleep.
I need you to go down to the Mermaid, drag Airk out of bed, and find out why he hasn’t been reporting in. More importantly, I need you to get that artifact. You’ll recognize Airk by a gold amulet he always wears around his neck.
It’s of an owlbear clutching an amethyst. He should also be with his protégé, a whelp by the name of Dargo Mar. That’s all."
....."What are you waiting for?"
Kenji Nishida |
"I suppose we ought to get going, find this Airk fellow, or whatever is left of him, and solve this little mystery. I've got nothing better to do today." Kenji slips out and waits for the rest to follow.
Sele the Thorn |
"We're off to raid the tavern the wonderful tavern of Lusty Mermaidness."
and he proceeds down to the docks and tavern when all are ready..
I shall see if I need to buy anything and advise.
Spenser Quixote |
"Tally-ho, Lot! THE STORIES call once more!"
GM Chyro |
VC: "Let me make 1 thing clear.
Failure is -not- an option."
You leave the lodge and the grumpy man behind, and head off to the tavern, down at the docks district.
================================
The darkness has melted away, leaving Absalom in the gray grip of dawn. Rolling in off the sea, a chilling fog hangs thick in the air like a cold, pale wraith seeking to steal warmth from the living.
Cries of seagulls pierce the otherwise dull stillness of the Docks. A dim yellow light spills from the stained windows of the Lusty Mermaid. The front door opens with a moan, and inside sits a scattering of fisherman, returned from a predawn haul.
The overwhelming stench of raw fish clings to these men, and it mingles with the savory aroma from the pot of stew hanging above a snapping fire in the hearth.
The proprietor, a greasy-looking human with thick arms and an even thicker belly, looks up from behind the bar and says, "A little early for customers, idn’t it?
I have stew cooking, but that’s it. If yer lookin’ fer enthin’ else, ya best shove off."
Sele the Thorn |
"Good proprietor we are here in search of one Airk Jarigan, we have been asked by his employer to find why he has not reported in on his duties lately, would you be able to help us please?."
Showing off his shiny Paladinness
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
GM Chyro |
While Sele speaks to the proprieter, the laughing calms down.
You get the justified feeling everyone is looking at the newcomers.
Looks of mistrust of strangers fill the room.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
The bartender scratches his head.
"Airk Jarigan? Can't say the name rings a bell."
False.
Sele the Thorn |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
"Why do people try to lie to Paladins, it's almost as bad as trying it with an inquisitor without the nasty torture like consequences. C'mon friend you can do better than that, we know he was staying here, do I need to call the watch and tear this place apart looking for him."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
GM Chyro |
The man rolls his eyes, tilting his head.
He reaches behind him, and grabs a big sword.
Two men stand up from their meal.
Bartender:
"Piss off. I'm looking for a quiet day, and you guys want to meddle in local life?"
The fisherman stand up, looking eager to flee the scene.

What about Lot? I figure I'd have left him outside, but you can bet that I'd call him in once trouble started.
GM Chyro |
He'll be left outside, at the start of the walkway.
GM Chyro |
Come on guys, there's 4 of you to take Vassago's turn.
What were you waiting for?
Vassago moves SW.

Spenser Quixote |
Come on guys, there's 4 of you to take Vassago's turn.
What were you waiting for?
For my part, I've been very busy and not feeling well at all the past few days, and Kineticists are one of my weak suits.

What would it take to call Lot in here? Might he be able to 'smell trouble' from where he is?
GM Chyro |
X)
Vassago's mostly shooting, healing if needed. ;)
Sry to hear you're feeling unwell.
GM Chyro |
He'd not smell trouble by nose. He'd be smelling lots of fish though. Screaming at the top of your longues, a DC 19 perception would get his attention.
17 for the distance and through a door, and +2 from noisy circumstances.
Spenser's strikes are no weak things, but Larro seems to be no weak bartender, and evades Spenser's attacks.
Keera
-------------
Panicking fishermen
Spenser Quixote |
"HIE THEE HITHER, LOT! FOR THE STOOORIIIIEEES!!!"
I would argue that Lot should get a bonus to his roll because he knows and is trained to recognize and heed my voice, but that's your call.
Lot |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Lot looks up from a large beer barrel he's managed to break into.
*snort*
Double-move.
Lot charges down the pier and bursts through the door!
GM Chyro |
There's sound both inside and outside, to account for.
The figure of a large camel pushing open the (thankfully unlocked door), makes the fishermen hesitant.
Fisherman: "What now? There's a big animal in the way."
Another fisherman: "IT looks anxious, ye think it'll bite?"
Keera
Keera Airbornt |
As she sees the sword comming to wound her flesh, Keera instinctively cast Windy scape, protecting herself of part of the damage, albeit not as much as she would like.
Sobrino we have problems inside, come here she shouts calling her companion to protect her.
Sobrino`s perpection: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
As Sorino comes, she takes a step back and throws a snowball toward the unengaged enemy. Or maybe against the farthest wall, as there's where the spell hits.
ranged touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 75d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 3, 3) = 17
GM Chyro |
Unfortunately, being flatfooted at the time of his attack, you cannot take immediate actions.
Keera's cries for her trusty bird are hearx, and it comes to its mistress' side. Keera's snowball misses Larro, and it now decorates the wall behind the bar.
The fishermen are unsure of whether they can safely get out, after a large animal barged in like that.

Keera Airbornt |
One day I'll remember about not casting when flat-footed. Or I hope so, thanks for remembering
Ay Carumba says Vassago. Your pet has put himself in the middle, milady says Vassago as she steps to the south to have a clear view. The water in the tavern moves toward him as he gathers power to make a deadly blast.
Empower blast: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 113d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 5, 5) + 9 = 22
And a powerfull blast of water impacts near Keera's snowball. Showing than someone else should make the rolls
GM Chyro |
Green is spared the fate of his buddy, for now...

Larro steps up to Keera.
Greatsword, PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 2 = 14 2d6 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 9 + 6 = 21

GM Chyro |
Attacks from both of the boys miss, except Lot spitting some foul smelling saliva at Larro.
==> Keera
Someone can bot Vassago's turn in advance.
GM Chyro |
Botting.
Keera draws her scimitar.
Scimitar vs Larro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"Ow shoot...."
Turning to her new bird, "Attack him.", and she steps 5ft away.
Birdy goes full out.

GM Chyro |
Larro takes another serious beating between Spenser and Lot.
Damn, that man's stubborn, he's staggered.
(Huff....wheeze....)
Keera & Sele
Sele the Thorn |
Sele takes out his sap holding his greatsword in his off hand and attempts to render Larro unconscious
Sap: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 111d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
GM Chyro |
The smell of 'local specialties' make for Sele missing.
Though for the interrogative purposes, the intention is clear.
Keera
Keera Airbornt |
Seeing how Spenser and his camel are handling the combat, Keera takes a more careful aproach to her swordplay as Sobrino makes continues harrasing the man.
Come on guys. Take him down before he hits me again.
scimitar, defensive combat, flank: 1d20 + 4 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 4 + 2 = 31d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Sobrino´s bite, flank: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 2 = 161d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Sobrino´s claw, flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 221d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Sobrino´s claw, flank: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 221d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
GM Chyro |
Sobrino's claws find the weak spots in Larro's defense.
The 1st takes him out, and he gets clawed again when KO on the floor.
The other guy withdraws, taking a leap and dive into the water in the big hole.
Combat over.
Keera Airbornt |
6 CLW charges: 6d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2, 7, 3, 4, 7) + 6 = 31
Thanks Sobrino says Keera to her companion as she gives him some meat as a reward. Then she picks her wand and taps herself several times until her wounds are closed. Giving some time to Sele and Spenser so they can talk to the remaining people at the bar.
Seeing them a little slow in doing some talking she decides to start. We need the information and, after all, if someone get offended they can fix it later.
Well, now that we have ended this "let's see who has the bigger..." combat skills and all this nonsense, who of you is going to tell us why your bartender had attacked us? what he was talking about "meddle in local life", and where is Airk Jarigan? The she turns toward Spenser and Sele. Or you prefer they talk with you one by one until someone cooperate?
GM Chyro |
#1 "Beats me."
#2 "I don't know, looks like you beat the crap out of who probably did know."
#3 "Strangers are always trouble."

Hey guys! Due to lack of any response from Paizo higher ups, I am creating a second account just to get things moving; hopefully you call can vouch for me if things do go awry. I'll update by Tuesday night if I can still post as Vassago again
Sincerely, Dave
Sele the Thorn |
Sele will search him taking weapons and then use lay on hands on him

When he wakes or not Sele is holding Larros sword and says
Where is Airk? And has anything happened to him?

Okay, so I think I need to update Vassago's profile still, so will be posting tomorrow. Thanks!
