Zokon replies with subtlety I don't know how to do tiny letters "Aye, we need the info what we are doing is important and involves Brunderton in the future, especially for you i'd think Durgan."
Nevermind! ;)
Fergus Bouldershoulder Ironmug
unfortunate, but fair I suppose. I'll not be using it then. Just not worth a spell slot as is imo. Not since I want to be a melee wizard for another few levels anyway.
RPGGGM
Fergus, are you sure you don't want to be a magus or an eldritch knight then? I play a couple of very different "knights" myself, Shonni the Elf--"It's a CLASS dammit!", and Agirran the Fury because every wizard should look like a six-and-half-foot-tall, angry, tattooed, biker, wielding a greataxe.
On a related subject how close are you to finishing up? Did you want to start in Brunterton? There's no huge rush, but I'll need to plan. If you want PM me.
Balzeros of the Narl
I like your eldritch knight style!
Illthir Winlowe
Eldritch Knights are cool!
But so far 100% of the kingmaker campaigns I've played then in have died. And it's more then one :P
Fergus Bouldershoulder Ironmug
No, the character doesn't focus on martial combat a lot, he just happens to be decent at it after having the rudimentary "training" from his dad when he was growing up. Fergus is very much meant to be very undwarf like until he is put in sticky situation. After all, he hates getting his robes dirty haha.
Besides, as much as I love magus (in my top 3 favorite classes of all time) Kinda want to try a wizard, since I've only really played arcanists and sorcerers.
but Fergus is pretty beefy, specially with transmutation school buffing his physical stats.
I'm mostly done, and I will PM

As to how long to stay in Brunderton...
Crafting time is normally 8 hours per 1,000 gp of base price, but can be accelerated to 4 hours per 1,000 by increasing the DC by 5.
The caster can work for up to 8 hours per day, but can make no more than 1 item per day.
The MW armor and weapons don't contribute to the Base Price directly, they are an 'extra cost', so they don't count for determining time. At least, that is how I understand it.
So improving Durgan's armor to +1 has a Base Price of 1,000, and there is no need to increase the DC because it is 1 day either way. The DC is 5+CL, or DC 10. Alia has a +14 Craft (Armor) (factoring in her Bladed Magic trait bonus), so can't fail.
Improving Durgan's Cold Iron Battleaxe to +1 has a Base Price of 4,000 (because Cold Iron), so that would be a DC 15 check to get it done in 2 days. Alia would again succeed on a 1. For a weapon that is not Cold Iron, Alia could upgrade it in 1 day.
I don't want to monopolize the time. If we are here for two days, I would ask one day of Alia's time to upgrade the armor, and another day to work on somebody else's gear. If nobody else had anything they wanted to enchant, then I'd ask for the axe instead.
Alia has a Black Blade so doesn't need any time for that, though she might want some time to work on armor. Illthir might want either armor or weapons. I think both Durgan and Illthir set aside funds for crafting components. It looks like Zokon and Serena are good but I could be wrong.
Illthir Winlowe
Two days seems reasonable. Illthir set aside money for writing supplies - so I'll just do a pair of scrolls I think : )
But as for today's activities I think we could do three groups.
1) Get a boat
2) Get a forge (if Alia can/wants?)
3) Stick our nose in their business
The last one can probably be combined with the first two :D
So two groups then. Or two stops for one group. That might be easier.
In fact let's do that. Let's go get a boat (ride)!
RPGGGM
**Bangs on dressing room door** Fergus, you ready yet?
On that note, considering their proximity Balzeros could show up here as well--possibly on business requiring a dwarf craftsman, minerals from the mine, or just seeking a boat to travel on.
Balzeros of the Narl
Works for me! How into the RP do y'all get for errands like this? Just so I can better plan my insertion into this masterpiece of an AP.
EDIT: And Durgan's post has answered my question :)
RPGGGM
Real quick, since Fergus doesn't have an avatar (and still can't get one), make sure you give us a good description.
Oh, and if it helps....
Balzeros of the Narl
Just saw this, I'll edit the post to have a detailed description!
EDIT: Added a picture. I'll update if I find a better one.
Fergus Bouldershoulder Ironmug
I Sent two PMs to you, I'd also be looking around for some gemstones for my spells.
I did have one question for game stuff, are you OK with me crafting Constructs/Golems? Or would you rather that stayed "background" stuff?
Also, I added an image to Fergus alias
Image isn't perfect, but its good enough.

I don't have a problem with crafters. We already have one in the party as it is. I'm not really a big fan of selling magical implements for huge economic gains though. The economic distortions created by the magical market place, and adventurer's magic gear just leave me a bit blah. Magic items should on the whole be special (at least the permanent ones). And adventure, to me, should nominally be about adventures not accounting, but we haven't run into that problem yet, so for now I am open-minded on the subject.
Balzeros of the Narl
GM, do you want a separate alias for Balzeros' familiar? I'm leaning towards doing so, but I'm not picky either way.
Illthir Winlowe
Separate aliases is nice for when you can use a portrait for them. And a status line ... :P

Ditto that.
Ramita
Here is his familiar! Fort save is garbage but those immunities though...
GM, how do you run familiars in combat and for things like AoE attacks? I envision Ramita scouting at times, but not really having an active role in combats that didn't start with something attacking it.
Alia of the Blade
Aaaand I'm back.
Everything went well, we came back home a few days ago, I've been sleep-deprived ever since, and we're still sorting out our daily routine involving #3.
So posting may still be spotty for a bit, but I'm generally back in business again - just wanted to check in.
(Also: I did catch up with gameplay, I'll try and get a post in tomorrow. And of course Alia is willing to smith...been waiting for it long enough :P I still got a donkey with a portable forge parked somewhere - probably at the Trading Post.)
Balzeros of the Narl
Welcome back and congrats again! Hope it is easy enough developing your new routine!
RPGGGM
Although that elven immunity to sleep magic is probably gonna bite for a while.
...we're still sorting out our daily routine involving #3.
Good plan! Don't name them, you'll only get attached! :D
RPGGGM
Did anyone else (who could reasonably lay claim to it) want any of the loot from Gwen's Relics?
Illthir Winlowe
Most of it seemed like "useful to keep in party stash and hand out as needed" to me : )
Alia of the Blade
Although that elven immunity to sleep magic is probably gonna bite for a while.
True that. Worse that my main profile states Dreamlord. I also ensure they know they can do whatever they want in dreams and encourage them to e.g. grow butterfly wings and fly to the moon.
Alia of the Blade wrote:...we're still sorting out our daily routine involving #3.Good plan! Don't name them, you'll only get attached! :D
Oh, too late for that - already attached. And already named. I just figured names won't really help strangers on the internet with perspective :)
Zokon Santyev
Zokon would like to hold onto the Darkvision potion to be handed out as needed, with it most likely that he will be the one needing it.. ;o)

Can you (or anyone else besides me) change it (i.e. click on the potion to pull up the window and change the owner's name)?

I know, but I'd never get to use that line otherwise.
Alia of the Blade
Sure, changing the owner was easy.
I will also try and update my sheet there...but only after the downtime and the approved alterations.
And fair enough on the line :)

I need to apologize to my GMs and players. I have less than two weeks to a local convention on which I serve as the Game Operations Director, overseeing the entire gaming room (which is the largest gaming floor in my area). I also have to make a trip to Dallas this weekend that cannot be avoided and I have possible jury duty starting on Monday next week. Anyway, I will update when I can. I haven't forgotten you, just been very busy.
Balzeros of the Narl
Wow... when it rains, it pours!
Illthir Winlowe
Ouch yeah that sounds rough! Good luck on sorting it all out.
The World's Most Interesting GM
Just a heads up, there is this online convention-thing called Outpost III coming up at the end of March. If you can't get enough of me (or Durgan, or any of your other favorite GMs for that matter), and are interested in Pathfinder Society Organize Play, you can find us running things for the Con that you can start to sign up for here on Monday, March 2.
Illthir Winlowe
I'm not into pfs but thank you for the invitation/offer still : )
Balzeros of the Narl
I'll be signing up tomorrow! :)
RPGGGM
Who is on what (if any) watches while on the barge (and for the future)?
Illthir Winlowe
The last watch suits Illthir well as it means she can wake the boat at the end of it by practicing increasingly loud on her fiddle :D
RPGGGM
1st - Durgan + Zokon
2nd - Serena + Scarlet
3rd - Alia + Illthir + Victoria
Watches (NEW)
1st - Zokon
2nd - Serena + Durgan
3rd - Alia + Illthir
Balzeros of the Narl
Unless Balzeros isn't trusted (which makes sense, no offense would be taken!) he would opt for first watch.
Alia of the Blade
Hm...Zokon is schooling me on Nobility, and we'll want to split Darkvision to different shifts(plus we don't want the newcomers alone in a shift.)
I am fine with whatever falls within those parameters.
Edit: @Balzeros - well, it makes sense to pair you up with a senior member, as i suggested. Exactly for trust reasons, but I don't think we need to really handicap ourselves, there :)

So is Zokon on 1st watch or 3rd watch then? And Alia? And Fergus? All I'm really trying to find out right now is who's on first?
Watches (NEW)
1st - Zokon + Balzeros (+ Alia?)
2nd - Serena + Durgan
3rd - Alia + Illthir (+ Zokon?)

Sounds great.. sorry I was busy

Can Produce Flame be cast on a familiar via Share Spell?
RPGGGM
Can Produce Flame be cast on a familiar via Share Spell?
Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).
That doesn't work for produce flame which has a range of 0'.
Unless of course you mean throwing desecrate packets of burning flame at your magical toucan with the intention of setting them on fire. That still works.
Sounds great..
So Zokon pulls double shifts? ;)
Illthir Winlowe
He was elected to lead - not to read!
As Minister of Awesome I'll decide he gets to go on shift 1.
Illthir Winlowe
Btw if any have a suggestion for level 1-2 spell scrolls to scribe I'm all ears!
(I'm hoping to use the river trip and the stay-in-dwarftown time to craft scrolls if possible. If saying "I'll scribe some!" and then deciding at the tail end of the journey what I'm making won't work I'll just start now instead :) )
Balzeros of the Narl
People are able to scribe scrolls for others if they spend time to provide the spell, right? If so, would you be willing to scribe some scrolls for me at some point? Not right now, but some time later on.
Illthir Winlowe
Aye sure!
Illthir has Spell Kenning now too so feel free to suggest any cleric/wizard/bard spell of levels 0-2 : )
(Note I'm assuming she'll work mostly in the evening/afternoon since most scrolls only take 2h. So no Spell Kenning for late-day fights!)

I don't think you can (if you mean like having someone help you make some boots of striding and springing, when you need someone to cast longstrider for you if you can't do it yourself). The actual creator of the scroll must know, or prepare the spell to be scribed.
Also scribes write spells in their own style. They can tell others what it all means (such is the case when someone buys a scroll), otherwise the person who buys or commissions the scroll, uses it like any other magical scroll (by identiying it with spellcraft, or using it off the cuff with UMD). In this regard, since I have nearly zero familiarity with the shaman class, you can make up whatever you want to. Just don't get caught. ;)
Creating Scrolls ...The creator must have prepared the spell to be scribed (or must know the spell, in the case of a sorcerer or bard) and must provide any material component or focus the spell requires.
Spell Kenning does help though.
Zokon Santyev
I figured that everyone else was a spellcaster and needed the rest?
Feel free to allocate others in that spot
