Beh.. scouting out the area will look just as bad, they aren't stupid. We're not for secrecy with these people unless it's for their own good

Alia of the Blade |

That, and it does also cost us time to travel around. I'm with Zokon, lets ask the locals. If we're lucky, we can also get some intel on the surrounding lands making it easier to map them.

It's also a good way to build up reputation with the locals too so that they can see us more as being helpful than a group of people stirring up trouble for their own gain.
Not to mention many more things we could hear about on the way, new locations and ect.

Alia of the Blade |

Just for the record, I'm fine with the performance turning into a Noodle Incident.
The linked kind. Not the Orgy kind.

Just checking to see how many people will want to not remember this.

I'm just wondering if I was planned to be involved or am I safely able to stay in the crowd and hide... stealthily... very stealthily...

Sounds like may be involved...and knowing what's the dice are like I'll probably roll terrible for a doubly-funny comedy act.

To Scarlet...
Hello Maiden of Gold... we did Tide of Twilight (Sterron)

Scarlet Scarab |

Hi Sterron! The Maiden needs some serious tweaks before I play her again. I made a Core version of her as a Fighter/Monk that is doing pretty well so far. I'll probably remake the Classic character as an Oracle. She thinks she's a Medusa, cursed with a hideous deformity.

So I scribbled one possible path of exploration that you might use (barring uncrossable rivers or Total Party Kills that is). Feel free to make your own.

I like it lets do that

I had kind of figured that overall we would start at the top of the map and work our way down. We do have some side-quest leads but our primary goal is exploring hexes. GGGM's line covers the quests but leaves most of the map unexplored.
I put a few lines on the map.
The yellow one is kind of the area I had assumed we would explore first. Going after the plains hexes gets a lot done in a short amount of time, as they can be completed the fastest. We have been in some of those hexes already. It assumes a return trip to Oleg's to resupply which we will want to do periodically. It could also be adjusted south to include Nettle's Crossing.
The pink one wasn't an area I figured we would go for first but since we are already west of Oleg's it seems like this might be a good time to do it. There are a bunch of plains hexes that we can explore quickly, and we can get the intervening forest hexes on our way in and back, and then return to Oleg's.
The orange one assumes we have done the yellow one and are heading for the Old Sycamore and then are going to rendez-vous with the kobolds. The big issue there could be finding a crossing over the Thorn River. Once we have met up with the kobolds and traded for the radishes, we can return to Oleg's with the radishes, possibly heading north through forest areas on the way if we are not in a hurry.
My personal preference at this point would be to do Pink, then Yellow, then Orange.

As a side note, this is a sand box--not a flow chart. Moving around the game-board is on you guys. "Let him that would move the world first move himself." ~ Socrates

Move the world? But I want to OWN it!
I'd go with yellow. From what we've heard of these mites they might be dangerous so I'd suggest we instead explore, get a nice footing of exploration, finding equipment and maybe even a interesting location or too for the future.

Alia of the Blade |

I'd stick with Blue(checking Nettle's crossing on the way south), then return to Olegs in Cyan.(optionally a bit south too, to cover all north of the Gudrin River)
That would cover the whole area there if we explore the hexes, while following leads we KNOW about rather than hope we stumble on something else...

Can't argue with that...plus just realised I should waver my vote considering my knowledge of the vanilla version of the AP, however I'm sure the GM has added some new locations that I have no idea of so who knows.

Zokon Santyev |

Alias? Blue one is the best i've seen so far, it accomplishes our immediate mission and areas we want to investigate.
Then Numalars Yellow then pink.

Celyne |

Starting with blue sounds good to me.

RPGGGM |

Blue it is. Does anyone have any prep they need to handle? You have some treasure now. Any investments in supplies, horses, saddlebags, food, that sort of thing? This will be a long camping trip after all. What's on your sheet is what you've got. Make sure you are up to date.

Zokon Santyev |

Food, sources of light for night time muggings , rope, water, tents?

Healbot-451 |

Love never really crossed Scarlet's mind, although she doesn't mind friendship. She would be a robot if I could play one, but a Dwarfish Ifrit makes more sense in Kingmaker!
*mechanical sigh* Healbot-451 looks longingly at a worn picture of Alia and wonders if she will ever find a compassionate, gifted smith out there that she believes--in the very heart of her synthetic soul--will complete her.

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

"Come on over from High-Tech-Land! I'll ship the two of you! I have methods..."
Seriously, I would assume a Android would have the necessary patience to court her. The more important plot question is: How'd she get a worn picture of Alia? ^_^

A new contraption called a Fo-To. I wouldn't be surprised if there were many such buried devices in the fallen star in Numaria. Actually speaking of, my IRL group where we do PFS decided to do Dragon's Demand, however only 3 parts of it are sanctioned so we decided to play the whole thing with non-pfs characters and the GM said to choose any races so I came up with my selection: Android Rogue, Tiefling Rogue, Hobgoblin Fighter. The GM didn't like either of them as the location he claimed was out of place and if it were somewhere like Absolam where he's cosmopolitan he said it would've been fine but not at our location...which made no sense to me as we arrived via caravan so poor Alianna Starman became a human...same backstory though, she escaped the mysterious moutain in Numeria when she one day woke up in a strange glass tube. No idea of her name or where she is from, but has inexplicable knowledge of alchemy and operating mundane and technological devices making her apt as lock-picking, trap finding and hurling flasks of acid at creatures.

RPGGGM |

I'll be posting later tonight (2AM-ish EST) I'll assume you will be riding upon horses (or Sir Didymus as the case may be), that Luna will be along, and that you are beginning in the farmers' hex and are not returning with Svetlana and Paun who are heading back to Oleg's. I'll also finish off any bits of RP that are still in the air.

Waiting waiting..

Waiting waiting..
What will happen in this exciting conclusion. Will Alia and Scarlet be able to continue without any awkward moments? Will Luna resist the urge to eat Alia's kitty companion? Will our heroes find a even more terrifying beast? Will Posh get to tap dat ass? Find out next week! Same bat-time! Same bat-channel!

Hey, guys. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. An old friend of mine just passed away; his memorial was today.
The party sets off from the fairgrounds with an additional (non-borrowed horse) for Celyne.
Celyne has provisions to purchase... basically a horse if we don't already have one for her, and a couple of alchemist fires.
FYI Celyne did have a horse before. Assuming Cyrielle left us with her horse in Restov we should currently have five horses, plus two mules and sir Didymus. We originally had four horses but I think we kept Grogan's horse.
Scarlet may or may not need a horse as she walks as fast as Sir Didymus, the mules, and Luna do, but she may want one anyway. And since I ride Sir Didymus I don't require a horse.
Even if we only have four that should be enough in light of that.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences *hugs*

Celyne |

So sorry for your loss of your friend. Never an easy thing to go through.

Scarlet Scarab |

Scarlet's base speed is 40, so she can keep up with a horse. She would want something to carry her excess gear, though. Also there's the matter of fatigue, as it's easier to ride than run for 8 hours.

RPGGGM |

Actually the horses have been having you on (they've been using bluff) they move at 50, and usually come with the run feat. Luna and Sir Didymus move at 40 though topping off the party's overall travel speed.

RPGGGM |

I've updated the tactical map to Google Slides. It is supposed to be more phone friendly. Please try it out and let me know if it works. I've posted a new campsite map there. In the future I plan to keep the most resent/pertinent map as the first page though I think it will also come in handy for multi-level dungeons and times when the party splits up.
Also Posh, are you on a horse or did you want a mule? The group seems to have spares.
Also everyone let me know if you want to change watches, marching order etc....

I believe you correct there. Assuming she is coming with is one of the mules (originally yours) still with Naleksa?

Try opening it in Google Chrome it should point you in the direction of the slides phone app. After installing it in mine it works like the old software on my desktop.

Zokon Santyev |

Oddly the slides app option didn't appear the first time but did after you posted.

I have to say that I am impressed on how you guys consistently get all the toughest random encounters (trolls, worgs, this current thing).

Three trolls actually. ;) My other group had four, but wisely avoided them.

Three trolls actually. ;) My other group had four, but wisely avoided them.
I remember a group I was in where we let the charismatic Halfling convince us that as we killed a troll once then two trolls shouldn't be an issue...that day both the Elf Monk and Dwarf Barbarian (My first character, Grimly...yeah I'm generally terrible at names on the spot) died due to the troll's Render ability. Funnily enough, they were also cursed by some necromantic piece we had and come the second day, both bodies disappeared.
I always loved the friend of mine who played his Halfling, Dakkon and yes the name is based on the Gith-Yanki character from Planescape Torment.

"I don't mind sleeping under the stars, but..." Rain accumulating on a branch splashes on Scarlet. "My gear gets wet. Hey Naleksa, you still have one of those tents?"
Scarlet buys a single-person tent for 11 gp.
You know, I have a two-person...nevermind...I'll just unlock the secrets of crafting a Healbot-451 when I'm old, then send it back through time to find me.

That is a interesting throught...a android race which, by all mechanics, is a construct, is able to cast healing magic bestowed by the Gods? Now that would be a interesting race to play, but sadly I don't have any PFS certs for it and I think you can only get them at conventions.
