While it seems you have conceded the situation to ODV, I am surprised you were confused by my original suggestion.
Really it's the same as we have for weapons except adding the casting roll into it. You had expressed a desire not to penalize ODV since he would then have to roll twice, so I suggested giving him additional attack dice based on the number he beats the target number by. I realize this could get ridiculous, so I said halve the number of "overage".
This may be a moot point now, but I just wanted to make sure you understood what ODV and I were suggesting to start, so it should help with whatever modifications ODV is making now.
And incidentally either the core or Realms of Sorcery does have info about "cross-loring"...Let's just say, you would be proving the witchhunters right and your own College(s) would begin hunting you down with the intent to terminate with extreme prejudice.

LOL, Drachenfels! No, Navi is the name of the oft hated fairy that assists Link the Ocarina of Time. She would say in voice out loud, "Hey! Hey! Listen!" when you were close to an object of interest.
And incidentally, Lutke never once said "Hey, guys". I even bolded it to draw your attention to it. He says "Hey!" three times than "Listen!". Oh well, no one noticed, lol.

Yeah...I wasn't looking for it to be honest. I've met very few people who quote zelda games(because only the annoying ones make audible noise)
As for my roll, Agility? Is this for Dodge blow (Caspar doesn't have) or what? I don't know how I'm supposed to describe Caspar's agility saving him from death as he bleeds on the floor.

GM Drachenfels |

Well Caspar, looks like you're in luck. Njord is gonna take the hit for you. Consider yourself out of the combat for now, but not dead. Njord will expend a fate point.
Caspar: Don't think I'm trying to baby or favor you. But I'm not on a mission to murder your characters. I'll try everything in my power to be fair and to give your characters chances to survive (so long as it fits the story).

To be honest, I was more than happy to see Caspar lose a fate point. It's very rare that characters actually die in our group. Sure they get messed up, but they usually live. Also, that Captain was in combat earlier, no negates for any damage he took facing Caspar? I'd assume he'd been wounded atleast. This hasn't come up yet so I'm just curious.

GM Drachenfels |

Reading back in our posts. Because you lost the combat to the Undead Captain, he didn't take damage. But even if he did, I put up the rules for the undead that say that unless you kill them outright (ie: they fail their saving throw), then they continue to act as if they are unwounded.
Either way, bad fortune for the party. We'll see what happens when Krak's grenade explodes. But it's not looking good. Hopefully the Imperial reinforcements arrive soon!

Some weapon effects and talents I would like to bring up which haven't been mentioned but may become relevant:
- Strike to Injure: Since the intent of this talent is to increase the critical rating if a critical injury is rolled for, I propose that this would subtract something like 5% to 10% from the Save roll of the defender if the Attacker possessing the talent wins the encounter
- Weapon - Impact: Allows a 1d100 roll separate for the attack spam that if desired may replace any one of the attack spam's rolls
- Strike to Stun: Allows the attacker to specify if attack spams are meant to be lethal or non-lethal. Otherwise no change to LITE mechanic.

GM Drachenfels |

Pinvendor: And yes, to address what you said earlier, the LITE rules are definitely brutal. It can be a meat grinder for player characters, though I'm trying to be fair and toss in as many saving grace situations as I can to keep from murdering your characters right and left. The NPC's like Gretta and Njord I'm not as worried about. Their fate is almost certain. They should both have red tunics :)

Upon ruminating over your comment about Impact, I realize my suggestion is essentially the same as we already have, but with yours it increases the number of possible total successes, while mine does not. Yours is more favorable or detrimental depending on who wins the encounter, heh heh.
Also, let's go ahead and begin the argument now...any Agility penalties for armor when posting defense spam? Lucas has Dodge Blow +10, but is wearing plate. Since they both "increase" defense spam, penalizing either by taking away defense dice just makes them irrelevant.
I will start the bidding with this suggestion:
Adjustment to Dodge Blow: Removes attack dice from attacker's pool to simulate character removing attack opportunities by ducking and weaving.
However, heavy armors and injuries (or other movement hampering conditions, i.e. hands tied behind your back) will add dice to the enemy's pool in addition to providing defense dice to character's pool
Sounds like a nice balance, right? Still allows for a benefit for both, but simulates the hindrances, too.

I'm in favor of keeping things really simple, but I see the virtue of your impact rule. It adds another small layer of complication to things though and people have already been struggling to grasp the new rules (though I think we're all on track now). Still, we can play test it and see how we like it.
As far as armor goes, I'm not worried about agility minus and all that. Armor has two levels: LIGHT +1 HEAVY +2 (defense rolls). Let's keep it simple and use common sense. If you have heavy armor (full plate) but no helm and the story says you get hit in the head, we'll don't account for your armor. But no agil penalties IMO. Too much complexity.
I like the Dodge Blow rule too.
Since you're all the ones resolving the combat (not me), it's going to take footwork on your part to handle all that. I'll give you base enemy stats, but you'd need to add/remove dice, account for dodge blows etc etc.
That something we want to do?

pinvendor |

I am all for simple if that's the goal...but it will definitely make combat very heavily weighted to soldiers and their ilk. If I were to start adding all the bonuses with no penalties, Lucas will be a truck. You expressed concern when a certain wizard rolled 9 dice...just saying Lucas would roll more than that already.

GM Drachenfels |

Ah, I see your point. He'd be a tank, literally. 4-5 Dice for Toughness +2 for heavy armor and then another 1 for dodge blow etc. Yea, that gets pretty interesting.
Well, I guess it says something for putting your strongest fighters up front then to face the dangers. As we saw with Gretta, unarmed peasant women without weapons do not fare so well :)
I guess we can keep an eye on this and see how it feels. But yes, the goal is simplicity. Still, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

"For a good time, visit Gretta 54 Altdorf way" <-- Hah!
Just saw that, eh? I chuckled the first time and this time.
@Rules: Just wanted to add a little flavor to the spam, lol. But I am not here to complicate anything if that is not a welcome approach.
@Hag: Lol, thanks. I was bored at work, and things were looking pretty dire after that bomb didn't explode. She just kind of came to me. I was really hoping Albrecht would see it and be able to respond for some possible "I just rolled another 77 against my WP not to use the stone!" kind of moment. Stupid edumacation BS ruined THAT dream...
I will say as soon as I thought of it, I was racing to complete the alias before someone else posted, lol.

GM Drachenfels |

I just posted as Gretta as she passes the inscription on the wall, heh. Dagon slipped a funny into the mix!
And yes, the Hag was inspired. Make good use of her. I turn her evil ways over to you to torment Albrecht as you see fit ;)
As far as your rules, they are all awesome. Let's hold them in our deck of cards and play them out if things get too lopsided.

GM Drachenfels |

Btw, did anyone see this? I thought it was inspired!
Before stooping to press into the entrance to the hidden tunnel, Lackey turns, grabbing a gibbering skull nearby, and promptly kicks it across the street and into a distant window with a crash. Teeth fly everywhere. In Lackey's mind, the crowd goes wild!
FIELD GOAL! :D

So another rules question:
For skills that are essentially subsumed in the attack/defense spams, how are we representing any +10s? Such as Lucas' Dodge Blow +10? Adding another die (or removing a second defense die if my adjustment is approved by the committee) seems a tad overpowered since the +10 is just supposed to represent a slight edge when using that skill, but I would hate to see it ignored completely.
Possible suggestion: For every 10% in a skill or possession of a combat applicable talent (Quickdraw, Sharpshooter, Wrestling, etc. that will increase the defense percentage by 1% or 2% thereby representing the slight edge.
What do you guys think?

As far as the game goes I've been really happy with the quality/frequency of updates.
I'll be posting some updates/backstory about Wolfenburg and possibly Caspar's exit story. I may likely telescope us ahead past the tunnel encounter and onwards to the city proper well I'll set up the 2nd act.
Anyhow, I know it's the weekend so things will slow down, so have a good one guys and don't party too hard :)
For me, it's off to the den of Slanneesh!
