About Caspar The Red
"A man seldom chooses the life he lives in the Old World"
Caspar Gafwig thought of this quote as he played a little tune for the guests of the Drunkard's Stumble. More people had shown up than ever to the small tavern lately. Their intent wasn't to listen to Caspar's fine melodies as he had once thought they would. No, the crowd's came to lighten their own mood's at Caspar's expense. "Ah, let the beastmen have the lot of you!" Caspar thought to himself.
It'd happened shortly after Caspar had struck a deal with the Stumble's owner. He would help bring in more patron's to the failing tavern as an exclusive guest. The first night was a success but not in the way Caspar would've liked. It was during his riveting tale of "The Peasant and the Trollslayer" that a man, having had much to drink, knocked over another patrons glass of wine spilling it on Caspar's trousers. As he finished his tale to his surprise the room was quiet. All except the one drunk man.
"A wonderful tale sir! C'mon e'ryone let's all hear it for Caspar the Red!" The drunk yelled in a jolly tone pointing at the now red stain on Caspar's groin.
From that point on all of Wolfenburg seemed to visit the Drunkard's Stumble. Not for Caspar's music or tales of chivalry. The whole city, it seemed, came to mock Caspar.
