New rules?? My roll wasn't related to combat! There aren't any soft newbies who are going to cry over a little GM PC rape on this thread. You are making my Eeeeeeeeeeek! look like a maiden afraid she lost her cherry by sitting on her horse and not because Sir Knight just impaled her on his sword!!
I'll let the gentleness slide this time Drachenfels...but next time, don't disappoint me!!
Sir Knight's attempt to impale maiden "WS" 57 v. 1d100 ⇒ 10
That's right...she knows what just hit her.
Maiden's attempt not to like it with purity bonus +10 WP 33(43) v. 1d100 ⇒ 49
Oh, she almost made it, but Sir Knight's sword is just so nice.

WARHAMMER LITE RULES COMPENDIUM
-------------------------------
Main concept: Use common sense, be creative, invent your own use for skills and don't power game. Have fun and don't worry too much about mongering the rules.
I'll be constantly updating the rules compendium as we play, adjust, learn and develop our PBP ruleset. Check this thread for all the info you'll need.
ATTACK
* Roll a total of d100 as the first number of your Weapon Skill/Ballistic Skill total. Each roll under your statistic total counts as a success.
* Two Handed Weapons: +1 Dice to attack
* Exceptional Missle Weapons: +1 Dice to attack
* Strike Mighty Blow: +1 Dice to attack
Note: For 'Epic Boss Fights' we may very well move to standard 2E rules. LITE combat rules are meant for quick resolution of simple fights.
DEFENSE
* Roll a total of d100 as the first number of your Toughness. Each roll under your statistic total is a success.
Attack/Defense successes cancel each other out.
* Light Armor: +1 Defense
* Heavy Armor: +2 Defense
Note: Use common sense. If you have a plate breastplate and the description says you get nailed in the chest, use heavy armor. Otherwise, don't. Play smart, have fun!
* Dodge Blow/Parry: + 1 Dice to defense
WOUNDS/HEALTH
* Take your wounds total and divide this by 3, rounding down. This is your total HEALTH.
* Health resolution: You lose 1 health for each success an enemy has over your defense when we roll dice totals.
* When you reach zero health you are considered to be at zero wounds. Any further damage beyond that will be considered potential killing blows. Again, we'll use common sense.
* There are likely plenty of skills/talents people will bring up that will grant +1 to health. We'll translate those skills as we go.
FUMBLES/77'S/01'S
* These apply as normal for any roll that requires the roll of a single d100.
* Spam rolls such as we'll do for Weapon Skill checks won't take any special modifiers into account. Success/Failure are the only two options. Let's keep things simple.

And yes, I'm man enough to admit that you were right, Pinvendor. An offtopic thread like this was VERY needed. I bow to your wisdom sir!
Accepted!
Lutke will be taking an advance in WP seeing how he has now had exposure to Chaos magic face to face and will now be stronger in controling his fear.

pinvendor |

Also, Drachenfels, consider using 'spoiler' for the character specific descriptions. makes the post look smaller and easier to pick out our part of the message
Example:

GM Drachenfels |

Pinvendor! What an excellent update that was. Well written my friend. I'm really impressed and reminded why you were always such a great player to have around for Warhammer.
That being said, I'm pretty certain Lutke is in for a dark fate, haha. If anyone is bound to trigger some sort of Chaos catastrophe (aside from Albrecht), it'll be Lutke. Hands down. For sure.

pinvendor |

Merry Christmas indeed!
Maybe it doesn't mean Lutke will be afflicted, but that his choices will affect many. Besides, I had been looking for a way to make the Dwarven lockbox in Lutke's backstory more integral to his story. I don't imagine he'll get either box open in this campaign, if Lutke survives, I foresee the box being opened will trigger my retirement of him as a PC. I really do hope he lives long enough to reach that point. As an NPC he can die or whatever but not before leaving a legacy of deadly dungeons, mind-bending puzzles, and impossible locks.
Whether that happens of course, who knows? I am not going to cry if he dies early and doesn't make it. I will just come up with a new and interesting idea! ;-)

GM Drachenfels |

On a side note, do you prefer me to format my posts with spoilers like I've in my most recent update? I'm trying it out based on Pinvendor's suggestion. Or do you prefer for me to keep things more free flowing, using the spoiler tags to bring attention to descriptive challenges.
At the moment I kind of feel the spoiler tags are somewhat distracting, but I also understand they are useful to help bring attention to important story elements meant for specific characters.
Let me know your thoughts.

Stavo Warpblood |

I personally like the spoilers, it highlights things I should pay attention to and if I fail a roll I don't look at the spoiler. It's not like note passing shudders so it's not like anything is hidden that we couldn't see.
Also in light of new developments I'm actually kind of anxious to meet Jurgen and the rest of the old group in what's developing. Also are we going to go through all of that adventure finally? I think you still have my book even.
Also Caspar is updated with all skills and talents for your viewing pleasure.

GM Drachenfels |

Well, the current game we're playing together here is taking place in the same timeline as the live action tabletop game I'm running with my friend Chris. He was/is on the Thousand Thrones story arc, though things have deviated quite a bit (as you will soon learn).
So I suppose we're in an alternate Warhammer world where things have developed in a different way. I like the way Albrecht described it:
"In the universe the Old World inhabits, there are some who believe in the Multiverse, that the Old World exists, many times over with subtle changes and minute details changing the fate of entire worldlines. Most think of it as multiple maps of the world laid on top of one another, stacked infinitium. Each life in the world is a flame, and rarely there comes a man, a being, whose flame burns too high, too hot and makes its presence
known on all the Worlds, as the flame burns through. Sigmar was such a man as was Archaon the Ever Chosen. Albrecht Baer was yet another."
Therefore, Jurgen of the Shroud and his companions could certainly be around. It might be fun to write them in should the story allow it.

Caspar The Red |

HAHA well I did remember that Albrecht, Lawbrecht, and Chaos Albrecht were all among Jurgen's comrades. I think the last two were one in the same but it's still fun to imagine multiple Albrechts of multiple Old Worlds. Anyways, I'd like to see that campaign through still, that's all.

Of course the awesomeness which is our "old" RP group puts so many others to shame. Seeing other PbP threads on here prove there are actually others who like to roleplay as much as us, but I have found so precious few in RL who do so. I was running a WFRP game for some people up here and I actually got an email from one as the others' spokesperson telling me they wanted a more combat oriented game since my story was too slow. I was caught completely off guard since it was the group roleplaying like crazy which made it move so slow. I had thought they were enjoying it, but evidently they only had enough RP juice for a couple of sessions before the need to crunch DnD/PFRP numbers reared its head, lol.
Incidentally, have you asked McKeen if he is interested? He always had some mad RP skillz.

GM Drachenfels |

Take note that I am using spoiler tags for lengthy text that requires a lot of reading/attention. If an update for a player is short, I won't be needing the spoiler tag.
^^ Everyone is welcome to unlock and read those spoilers.
IF however a spoiler is marked with (character name) EYES ONLY, then understand that the info within is meant for only a specific character and not the entire party. I certainly can't stop people from reading this info, but if you do make sure you roleplay without said knowledge.

I think if driven in to a corner (like the war) he might as well go out fighting. Who knew a bard would be so dramatic. But stand him up against one foe and give him an exit and or someone to hide behind? You bet he's going to exit stage right! I thought it was funny, it reminded me of something one of McKeen's character's might have pulled...

OneDrunkViking |

Indeed it was the holidays slowing me down. Not being at work(where I am on my iPhone all day haha) and putzing around with folks making updating a irregular thing. Should pick up come Jan 3rd. Mostly I've been checking At morning, and then again at night thinking it would be successful, boy howdy was I wrong!

FORTUNE POINTS:
In Warhammer 2E Fortune Points allow for re-rolls and such, refreshing each game session. As our game sessions don't really have an end or beginning, I think we'll refresh them through heroic acts, epic descriptions and other related PBP activities. But once your Fortune Points reach zero, you'll need to look for opportunities to refresh the amount you have.
* Everyone starts with as many Fortune Points as you have Fate Points.
* I don't want to encourage hoarding, but since we're handling how Fortune Points regenerate, I won't put a cap on how many you can have. I think we'll find plenty of scenario's where you'll need to spend them.
* Please try to track Fortune Points in your character info. As you use them, deduct 1 point, or add 1 as you gain them.
* What they do: Allow you to re-roll one failed roll. Example:
1d100 ⇒ 95 vs Will Power 27 <-- FAILED!
I'm going to use a fortune point to re-roll (removing 1 Fortune Point):
1d100 ⇒ 14 vs Will Power 27 <-- YES! SUCCESS! PRAISE SIGMAR.
