Hey, as much as I love the game, let us know if you need a break. We just bypassed 8+ hours of rest that we could easily flashback to. We could kill some time with some roleplay so you can concentrate on real life.

Thanks for understanding, but I want to get this part over with before taking a little rest.

Kiron continues his trek toward the other white bones.
Be patient. There is just one big encounter left, and then the party will move further up into the mountains where they will run into you.

Very nicely played, Gilian. You will receive Improved Familiar feat and you can summon your familiar after 24 hours spent meditating. There are several options available to you: you can take small earth elemental, a creature with elemental template applied to it, a earth mephit or something entirely different. I'm gonna need to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Hey, Solvi is also eligible for a familiar, so I just wanted to get some feedback as to what Solvi should look for as her familiar.

I recommend Ravens. They are definitely the best looking familiar a girl could want. Way better looking than some twitchy rock.

Well, it depends. As you can see, I've given Improved Familiar to Gil simply because she had the great idea and she roleplayed it excellently. Ragnar's raven is also improved familiar and he also has it because of his background and opportunities he has created by role playing. Now, perhaps a elven cat or pseudodragon? I don't know, really. It all depends on your personal tastes and how you want to develop your character.

Nightflier, a pseudodragon I think will work well with Solvi, due to her heroic path, but I do not think she has earned it yet RP wise either. Plus the setting is not right at this point. So I would say when she gains the prereq for Improved Familiar, then a Pseudodragon would work. To add another twist, since she is trying to become a Snow Witch, maybe a cold dragon type, like a silver or white dragon, like a pseudodragon, with the cold template.

Wll, sure. As I've said, it all depends on roleplaying. You play Solvi very well, but you haven't had a chance to do anything about familiar just yet. You can summon a regular familiar, if you like and summon a pseudodragon at some later point in the game. There are feats like Extra Familiar and there are rituals that allow you to summon familiars and animal companions without burning any feats.

My initial idea when thinking about the scene was to go for a small earth elemental and to apply the young template to tune it down till Gilian reaches 5th level and takes the improved familiar feat.
As we already have animal familiars, shapechangers and beast heroic path, I though the opportunity to roleplay the familiar choice was just there.

I think that I'll create a unique familiar for you. Just need to know what are your preferences - do you wish it to be small humanoid or animal-like?

Another character is dead. Pete survived two giant rats and a lot of smaller ones, but this time the dice were not inclined to let him survive. I got to love that little blender. So, Hogarth, do you want to create another character for this game? If you do, you will start at 3rd level and with 3 FP.

Eric Swanson wrote:Question Nightflier, would his Luck of the Cat ability have negated one of the blows, or was there simply too much damage done?Yeah, if he used it on the attack that scored critical, he would probably lived.
Hogarth,
There are basically three choices for a spirit in Midnight, they can go to Izrador, join the swirling hurricane of madness and semi-coherent souls called the Maelstrom, or become one of the Lost (ghosts, haunting an object or a place, usually without any effect on things in the world)
If you become one of the Lost, Ragnar can take you with him and you have a chance of being able to come back later in some fashion. What do you think? What would Pete choose?
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Just heard from Gabboge (anvinder). He's in the process of moving a few thousand miles and wasn't able to post up that he would be without internet before they came and shut off his internet.
He told me to act as his mouthpiece until he's back.
For last round, while Dorzar was visible, he wanted to cast Cause Fear (link) on him (DC 15 Will)
Round 2 he's going to continue to stay well out of range and throw a Javelin (attack 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9) and miss completely.
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Probably the Maelstrom; I assume that's where most spirits go.
Pretty much, yeah. It's basically a constant low-DC will save to avoid giving up and giving in to it's call. It's kind of like a giant elemental of frustration and loss.
If that's what you choose, would you mind sticking around to roleplay that scene?
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
Solvistania Elghreah wrote:I presume Gabboge has bowed out of this game? Or is this TPK time?Well, neither I hope. The monster just attacks those who scored lowest on Perception rolls. It doesn't have that much hit points, but its b!*~# to hit.
And Anvinder was still 1st level with 8 HP. Tough break. Guess that's two more spirits to add to Ragnar's legion. He'll take it pretty well, and will probably just make a new character.

Will do.
