Brandark rolls with the blast of Glass, managing at the last moment to get his quickdraw shield up in time to take the brunt of it.

Round Two

Stone resists the Dragon's Frightful Presence, though he is shaken by the flying shards coming from the Dragon's breath. He hesitates to see the affect on the other party members.

@Stone - When did you cast Spiritual Ally?

Flynn, only shaken by the Dragon, begins to send a barrage of arrows toward the massive beast. His first arrow penetrates deep into its tough hide.

Brandark's Second Roll to Resist the Dragon's Presence: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 28

@Brandark-Yes. The Dragon's Frightful Presence is a Mind-Affecting Extraordinary ability. Remind me again, what allows you a second roll? Forgive me, I just don't recall it.

Brandark hesitates briefly to recover from the wave of shards that cut into him, though he did block many of the shards with his shield.

Severo, fearless as most Paladins are, swiftly Lays on Hands to heal, then hastily begins to chop up the Dragon.

(93 Points of damage in a round. Not bad.)

Elektra has seen a lot, she was only mildly shaken by the Dragon. She elects to bring in a friend.

Devora also was only Shaken, her second Hasted arrow penetrates the greenish monstrosity.

Believe it or not, that was enough.

The Dragon howls from deep strikes by both sword and arrows. The assault was just too much for this Young Adult Forest Dragon. It had come from across the sea to make a name for itself, only to be defeated by a group of heroes.

Victory!

Stone 24 (AC22 77/77)
Flynn 19 (AC20 56/56)
Brandark 19 (AC21/20 61(67)/61/(67))

Devora 15 (AC20 49,49)

That was easy! The party can take down most anything if they have to time to add buffs, and then get a jump on their foe.

What does the party do next? I will give you a hint:

Perception DC20:
The Dragon did not create this, but did find it when it took possession of this cave and shrine. There is an illusory wall to the right. And this is where the Dragon hoarded its treasure. But shouldn't this be where the Dragon sleeps? The Dragon was a glutton, and tended to overeat then fall asleep. It was its doom.

Caleb will appear just in time to see the Dragon fall. "Good job! It is good to see you again Lady Elektra. You are facing Dragons now. I look forward to the next one." He returns to his Plane.

Electra smiles and replies. "Well that is why we have animals.
May I have a look at the scarab. I think I will use it to craft something special."

Can I use the scarab as a pendant or a amulet?

The Mithril Scarab would make a fine pendant or amulet.

The Cauldron, the bottle of Oil, the three Potions, the suit of Scale Mail, of course the Scroll of Bane, and the Scroll of Feather Step, the Shortbow and two sticks that are wands all radiate magic.

The party does have six horses. You can carry a lot with six horses.

As the party is gathering the loot, the Gnome suddenly appears in the cave, "Oh my, I really dislike that spell." He has his big bird-like thing with him.

"My! My! Aren't we a fine set of adventurers. I had thought that you were the right ones for this task." He goes up to Lady Elektra.

After again congratulating the party, he teleports back to his now even more safe home.

To skin the dragon? No. To preserve it? Yes. Also, armor made from Forest Dragon's hide will not be able to give the wearer any special protections or resistance, like say a Red Dragon's hide which could potentially provide Resistance to Fire.

The party skins the Dragon. Salts it as best as possible, gathers the loot, then heads down the mountain back to the horses. They then look for a place to camp that will be good for the horses. They will easily find a spot near a fresh stream.

There is an eerie calm overnight. Though there was no encounters the silence was deafening.

I meant to address this earlier.

Devora notices Flynn looking down tunnels steeply declining into the bowels of the mountain, "Yes. I am curious too. What great stories are awaiting down there. But we must go to sleepy Sandpoint. The good citizens there will need us. Come on..."

Back to the Present

Flanked by six Serpentfolk warriors to each side, two on each side with bows, two on each side wielding long knives, and and two shielded warriors on each side with wicked looking maces. The twelve flank three more robed Serpentfolk, one with a serpent-like staff, one without anything in its hands, and finally one in the middle, a two-headed Serpentfolk with green robes.

The two-headed Serpentfolk moves forward, the others are clearly at the ready, the left head begins to talk in an odd common, "Weeze been waaching you." The right head continues, "Weeze seeze you ssslaze zeez Drag...gon." Then back to the left head, "Itssiz taken our shrinezeez." Then the right, "Youzeez haseez killzeez the Drag...gon." "I see, Devora will shiver with the thoughts of some of the horrors she has heard about in the Darklands.

The Pathfinder continues, "Maybe someday you can tell me of your experiences." Devora will now seem more curious about Flynn than the steep path downward.

Knowledge History DC20:
Indeed, Viperwall is a keep built on the eastern shores of Ember Lake. You saw its many spires from the top of the mountain. Rumor has it that the castle was built sometime in the mid-fifth millennium AR by serpentfolk who traveled up from Sekamina, the Middle Realm of the Darklands, through the Mobhad Leigh (a Shoanti term for the "steps into hell." ) in order to create a surface outpost for their race. A connection to the Darklands in or near Viperwall is suspected. The party may have just found this connection point.

The Serpentfolk leave the party and heads toward the trail that leads to the top of the mountain and their shrine.

The party mounts their steeds and heads toward Sandpoint. Riding hard and fast along the eastern shores of Lake Ember, the party by late afternoon reaches the village of Nybor. Nybor is nestled along the southern tip of Lake Ember. It is a farming community with maybe the most diverse population in all of Varisia, if not all of Golarion. The party notices those tending the fields and as you move toward the villages center, within shops, and on the dusty streets, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, Half-Serpentfolk, and others of mixed races along with Dwarves, Halflings and Humans. There does appear to be more Gnomes than any of the other races. But this is not surprising considering the great Sanos Forest borders the village to the east. The village has a certain peace about it. Flowers and well-groomed shrubs adorn every edge and corner of the village.

There is the tavern and inn prominently located along the shore. The inn has its own wharf. Several small fishing boats are moored along the wharf. The party sees a heavily weathered sign swinging on rusting hooks. It is an image of a snake with arms, a fork in its hand, and what looks like a frog on the fork. The sign reads in a Varisian script, "The Serpent's Snack."

There is a stable a couple of blocks off the shore.

Does the party wish to stay the night in Nybor?

It beats camping out side. Shall we rest here and maybe get a good meal and head on bright and early in the morning?

It was three silvers per horse for the stabling. Brandark will find the stable hand to be very capable in light of the exceptional specimens of horse he is already tending to.

The Serpent's Snack is bustling with about thirty patrons, literally of all walks of life, fisherman and farmers, shop keepers and craftsmen, half breeds and not. As an example, at one table there is what looks like a Half-Elf fisherman, sitting with a Gnome, a Half-Orc farmer, and a what looks like one of the Serpentfolk, a female with very human features.

Great vats take up the whole back right of the building. A male Dwarf is putting grain into a grinder.

The bar is slightly elevated to accommodate its Dwarven bartender, a female. When the party approaches she introduces herself, "Welcome to Nybor. There are no strangers here. They call me Silvertooth." She smiles showing off her silver upper front right tooth. "We make our own beer. It is only a silver piece for a mug. We also have our local Wine. It is a gold piece. And we serve a very fine Honey Mead. It is made just outside of town. It too is a gold piece. Our specially is the grilled Frog Legs. It comes with grilled leaks. Or you can have our Vegetable Stew. It is made with purple potatoes, parsnips and the chopped leaks. Not to mention, various sundry spices and other locally grown vegetables. The meal comes with cornbread all for a gold piece." She takes a breath, "We do have rooms, not many, but I do have two available. They are two gold pieces each for the night. Each room has three beds."

Does the party partake in the accommodations? The place is extraordinarily clean. The prices are a tad high, but as this is the only inn and tavern for many, many kilometers, supply and demand is at work. And it is not like the party is broke.

Sounds like a plan Flynn definitely has something on his mind, only partially paying attention.
