Brandark will take the time to go to the various vendors to see what he can get for the large amount of weapons and armour that they are currently not using.

Trying to see what is available, and what he can trade for.

Sandpoint is not Magnimar, but Brandark will be familiar with Savah's Armory (12 on the map). The Feathered Serpent (44) buys and sells magic items. Then twice a week there is the Sandpoint Market. What is at the market any given day could be hit or miss. Tomorrow is market day.

Brandark will see about selling what he can today. This is so that he can pass on to everyone their shares so they can purchase what they want.

Edit - So that they can purchase within what is available.

@Brandark-The Heroes of Sandpoint get a break in Sandpoint buying and selling. Brandark can receive 60 percent of book value for items sold as opposed to the typical 50 percent. Brandark will find buyers for everything, but it will take much of the day.

Does anyone go with Brandark? I would need to know where the party is at all times should the Giants attack, while say, Brandark is at Savah's Armory.

Stone will start working on a wand of hold person unless someone has other needs.

The cost to manufacture a wand is 375gp x level of the spell (2), x the minimum caster level needed to cast the spell (3). This is 2250gp.

It would take two full days (Each 1000gp is a day) to make a Wand of Hold Persons.

The Feathered Serpent has not had a chance to restock since Elektra's previous excursion.

This list of what the Feathered Serpent has is still in the Discussion Thread.

Voorvashali Voon will be willing to buy any unwanted magic from the party.

At Savay's Armory, Savah Beviniky will have only a few magic items in his inventory. He has the following:

+1 Repeating Crossbow (1850gp)
+1 Heavy Steel Shield with the symbol of Magnimar upon it (900gp)
+1 Buckler (900gp)

He then will look at Brandark, "I do have this I recently picked up from a traveling merchant." He walks away to another room then shortly returns holding a Dwarven Waraxe. "It has special qualities that the merchant may not have been aware of. When you say "Issakaz" the axe turns a shade of blue and delivers even more damage to its foe."

Brandark will know that this is the Dwarven word for Cold. This is a +2 Dwarven Waraxe of Frost.

"This still did not come to me cheaply. In Magnimar a weapon like this would go for as much as 18,000gp. But I will sell it to you for 9500gp, Savah tells Brandark.

When Brandark grips the axe and says "Issakaz", he will feel a sensation of encouragement. He determines that this sensation is coming from the axe, for it goes away when he put the axe down.

Savah will look at Brandark curiously, "What just happened?" Apparently this effect did not work on Savah.

In addition to the above, Savah has the following:

Masterwork Breastplate (315 gp)
Masterwork Chainmail (270 gp)
Masterwork Club (200 gp)
3 Masterwork Darts (50 gp each)
Masterwork Greataxe (275 gp)
Masterwork Shortspear (270 gp)

Looking quizzingly at Brandark Electra will weave a quick incantation to better discern the weapon.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 23 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 23 + 2 = 26

Rolled a 1!. It is a good thing that is not applicable with Skill Checks.

Elektra will determine that the Waraxe has an interesting added ability. It has a semi-empathic connection with Dwarves.

The Waraxe grants a Dwarven wielder an additional +1 Saving Throw versus Fear effects in addition to it being a +2 Frost Waraxe. The empathic connection encourages the wielder when held. "Issakaz" is the name of the Waraxe. By its design, Elektra will determine that it is also very old, even ancient, yet it is like it was forged yesterday.

GM Note: I actually rolled the magic Dwarven Waraxe as a part of a random list of what was at Savah's Armory. I enhanced it some from there.

Who's this church dedicated to?

Father Zantus will eagerly offer Severo a tour. Devora quickly agrees to join the tour. The Padre begins, " The Sandpoint Cathedral is not dedicated to the worship of a single deity. Rather, it gathers under its eaves the six most commonly worshiped deities in the region: Abadar, Desna, Erastil, Gozreh, Sarenrae, and Shelyn. The building provides chapels for all of these deities in a communal forum—in a way, Sandpoint Cathedral is six different churches under one impressive roof."

Father Zantus offers a bit of the history, "The original chapel built here was a collection of six different shrines, each its own building and connected to the others by open-air walkways. Desna’s worship was incorporated into these shrines as part of the peace accord with the local Varisians, but the original builders included five other deities as well. Four of these (Abadar, Gozreh, Sarenrae, and Shelyn) were patrons of the original founders of the Sandpoint Mercantile Consortium, while the fifth, Erastil, was the most popular among the initial settlers. When that chapel burnt to the ground several years ago, Mayor Deverin set into motion a bold initiative. Not only would the chapel be rebuilt, but it would be rebuilt on a grand scale. A cathedral would be constructed in place of the chapel, and it would be made of stone and glass."

Agreed

By nightfall there was no sign of a Stone Giant attack. There were a group of refugees that came to town from the north. They said that their farms were raided three days ago. They had managed to escape and head south and west. They were attacked by Ogres and not Stone Giants.

Day Ninety-Three

Market Day

The party will have more purchasing options this day, as trader from all over Varisia and beyond visit Sandpoint in addition to the local merchants. These traders come by both caravan and ship. All manner of mundane items can be found at the market. I will have a separate post the list of what magic items can be found this day.

There is a palpable since of concern in the air this day around Sandpoint. The Sheriff and Mayor have not told the general public about the giant attack for fear of a panic situation. But the flow of refugees from the north is causing apprehension.

Sheriff Hemlock visits the party early in the morning at the Cathedral, "Sandpoint's citizens are becoming on edge. We have warning horns should something start. Go out and let the citizens see you today. You are the Heroes of Sandpoint, your very presence will help to calm things down."

These are items found this day at the market:

Divine Scroll (Stone Shape (375 gp) (total 375 gp)

Wand of Bear's Endurance (34 of 50 charges) (3060 gp)

Wand of Cat's Grace (15 of 50 charges) (design provides clue to function) (1350 gp)

Longsword (Medium) (+2 weapon) (8315 gp)

Greatsword (Medium) (+2 weapon) (sheds light) (8350 gp)

Arcane Scroll (Speak with Animals (525 gp)) (total 525 gp)

Ring of Improved Jumping (10000 gp)

Potion of Darkvision (300 gp)

Light Crossbow (Medium) (+2 weapon) (8335 gp)

Heavy Wooden Shield (Medium) (+2 shield) (4157 gp)

And the real prizes that can be found this day:

Heavy Mace (Medium) (+3 weapon) (18312 gp)

Staff of Defense (24 of 50 charges) (27960 gp)

Init.+5|Perc.+11|AC21|HP55|F+5 R+12W+11|CMB+10|CMD24|30'

Devora eyes the Wand of Cat's Grace and the Potion of Darkvision. The Ring of Improved Jumping is a curiosity, particularly after the merchant demonstrates its ability, but the price is too high for the Pathfinder.

Father if it not to much trouble will you have someone make sure our horses are at the ready just in case. Stone will stay in side for at least two day try to finish his wand. But that +2 shield sounds pretty good unless there is a front line person that wants it or I can't afford it.

Please use the Discussion Thread to continue any buying and selling or other actions performed on Market Day.

The party has a pleasant night's rest in the Sandpoint Cathedral. Though spartan in its decor, the beds are comfortable, the food is comfortable, and the company of Father Zantus and his Acolytes are likewise comfortable. Father Zantus brings out a couple of his treasured bottles of Elven Wine to share.

Sipping fine Elven Wine from a thick-glassed goblet, Devora recites the great tale of the brave heroes to the amazement of the Acolytes. Even the seasoned Father Zantus was likewise enthralled by the telling.

Day Ninety Four

The party wakes up before dawn, a comfortable (imagine that) breakfast with fresh eggs, sizzling bacon, and a plain yet savory corn-based gruel topped with melted whipped butter is served.

As the sun begins to rise over the hills to the east:

DC 30 Perception:

Hearing the words, Electra quickly weaves her spell and sending her eyes out as scouts.

The perceptive Inquisitor is able to give Sandpoint a bit of an early warning.

Then Elektra sends out her Prying Eyes.

The song "Lying Eyes" by the Eagles came to mind for some reason.

After a couple of minutes, Elektra will be able to tell the party that the giants are not in one group, but are approaching the town at four points.

1. A group of Stone Giants looks like they will first arrive at the North gates.

2.) Another group will arrive next near Tanner's Bridge.

3.) Then a third group looks like it will be crossing along the narrows on the south side of Mill Pond.

4.) And then a fourth group is crossing the Sandpoint Bridge, not far from the Rusty Dragon.

I dare say that this is more intel than most parties would have received playing this Adventure. Those Lying...I mean Prying Eyes are useful.

The Sandpoint Map has been updated with 1, 2, 3, and 4 to indicate where the groups are coming in at. What does the party do?

Moving this along!

With the added warning, Sandpoint was able to muster some extra guards to the North Wall. More of Sandpoint's Guards are heading to the other attack points.

Father Zantus with a pair Acolytes head toward the North Wall.

Stone, riding Shadowmist, heads toward the North Wall.

Four Stone Giants are near the wall. The portcullis is down.

Stone is already on the new North Wall Map above. If you choose to participate in this encounter, start your token along the far right edge of the map. You can either enter on foot or by horseback. Your horse is next to your tokens. There is an entrance to the North Wall a at the bottom tower or keep if you wish to ascend to the top of the wall. It takes a full round action to move from the bottom to the top of the keep, a move action can get you to the level of the wall.

Round One

Devora begins again to recite her epic poem. She then rides toward the North Wall's entrance.

Brandark calls out to open the gates.

Gorvi raises the portcullis.

Brandark drives Abacus through the gates.

Elektra begins to Summon in her friend Caleb.

Token for Caleb ready for placement. Caleb can be placed within fifty feet of Elektra to start.

Flynn runs to the top of the wall.

Stone advances to the wall.

Orik fires arrows with his longbow at third Stone Giant. It sails wide of his target.

Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 121d8 ⇒ 3

Father Zantus and his Acolytes head to the West (bottom) tower.

The east (top) guard fires a bolt at the first Stone Giant.

MW Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 111d8 ⇒ 7

The middle guard on the tower with Flynn fires a bolt at second Stone Giant.

MW Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 121d8 ⇒ 2

The west (bottom ) guard also fires a bolt, but at the fourth Stone Giant.

MW Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 81d8 ⇒ 4

All the guards including Orik needs more practice at the archery range.

The first Stone Giant advances through the woods and hurls a rock at the east (top) guard. The rock glances off the guard's armor.

Rock, PBS: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 1 = 171d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 = 17

The second Stone Giant advances and hurls a rock at the middle guard. The rock strikes the guard squarely. The guard is knocked unconscious by the blow.

Rock, PBS: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 1 = 221d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 1 = 19

The third Stone Giant moves up and launches a rock at Brandark with hope of knocking the Dwarf off his horse. The rock flies over Brandark's head and harmlessly strikes the stone wall.

Rock, PBS: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 1 = 131d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18

The fourth tries to take out the Crossbowmen on the west (bottom) wall.

Rock, PBS: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 1 = 321d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 = 17
Rock, PBS, Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 = 141d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 = 18

That was close. The fourth Stone Giant knocks out the guard on the west tower. But at least it did not kill the guard.

Severo advances through the north gates behind Brandark.
