GM Mazra |

Of course. I prefer tracking these things anyway. and well, while it might be better for Severo to fake it and lay low for a bit, it's hardly an orc or a paladin thing to do is it? I have my doubts this'll go well for him, but he does have one more Lay on Hands left...
No. Faking death would be out of character. However, it might have been a smart thing to do. Yet, Severo had a good strike against the giant, plus Elektra's Lightning Bolt. Let's see what Flynn does. It all may be enough.

Flynn Elric |

Here goes nothing...
attack1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
rapid shot: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

attack 2 : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
In an attempt to save Severo Flynn takes aim shooting at the giant

GM Mazra |

Round Nine
Stone's Spiritual Ally almost delivers a critical blow against the undead horror.
Round Ten
The now flying Stone Giant backs up a bit and begins to bring down its massive earth breaker hammer on to the Half-Orc Paladin, breaking bones with the blows. Most would have fallen under such a powerful onslaught, but Severo dies hard and does not fall unconscious.
The undead horror continues to slam against the Hound Archon Caleb. But the horror's attacks fail to do any real damage to the Celestial. Caleb is simply hard to damage.
Caleb's 1st Attack (no PA), less energy drain: 1d20 + 14 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 14 - 3 = 282d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 3 = 6
Caleb's 2nd Attack (no PA), less energy drain: 1d20 + 8 - 3 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 3 = 102d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 5) + 3 = 11
Caleb, drained of levels, tries to concentrate his attacks to simply find a weakness in the undead horror's armor. Caleb finds a weak spot.
I took some liberties with Caleb with him being down 3 levels with an enemy hard to hit.
Esai tries to hit the undead but was unable to penetrate the horror's armor.
Flynn continues his barrage of arrows against the massive Stone Giant. His second arrow sticks deep into the Stone Giant.
Devora, fearing for Severo's survival, goes invisible and moves toward the Paladin.
Severo provides himself a little healing. Then in the face of death delivers a critical strike against the flying Stone Giant.
Elektra tries a bit of electricity. She fires a lightning bolt at the Stone Giant.
Stone Giant's Reflex Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Even maneuvering to dodge away from the lightning's full effect, the bolt was enough to send the massive Stone Giant to unconsciousness. The massive humanoid falls to the ground with a loud and deep thud.
Brandark moves up and grabs his axe.
Stone's Spiritual Ally was unable to do any further damage.
However, Stone was able to do some harm against the undead horror with another wave of positive energy. The undead resist its full effect.

Something Horrible |

With the flying Stone Giant unconscious, the undead horror is all that remains....at the moment. It steps back then slams into the Hound Archon named Esai.
Undead slam: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 331d4 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + (3) = 11
Esai takes 1 physical point of damage, plus loses 5 points for its energy level drain (6 total). Also, it is -1 to hit going forward. Caleb continues to be at -3.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark hearing the commotion behind the party, turns around to run back past Stone to see what was up.
My bow/Axe was dropped by Flynn, so a x3 hasted run to where I am now.

Brandark Plainswalker |

If haste is done, I will be 1.5 squares up from where I am now.

Severo Lione |

Does Severo know not to use non-lethal damage against undead? Normally I assume any 8th level martial would know that sort of thing as the basics, but I want to be sure.
Severo drifts with a trickle of blood behind him to form up with Electra and Devora and stops just ahead of them with the same stone-cold expression as ever. "The chosen of Sarenrae do not recoil in the face of death." He speaks as he passes his hand over his blade, once more infusing it with holy might. Using Divine Bond to add keen to the falchion. I can't move my token via phone, and my PCs indisposed at the moment.

Elektra Stardancer |

Stone will release more positive waves.

GM Mazra |

@Severo - I will yield to Elektra. I think she is correct. But from the Pathfinder Wiki, Clerics of Sarenrae which include Paladins when in battle, become dervishes, ready to destroy irredeemable corruption. Undead represents an irredeemable corruption.
Round Eleven
Stone Giant Stabilize Need an 11: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
The big Stone Giant stabilizes.
The horrible undead steps back and slams into the second Hound Archon.
Hmmmm. Lucretia.
The Hound Archons Caleb and Esai attack the horrible undead. But none of the celestials blows penetrate the horror's stout armor.
Elektra waits to cast a spell.
The party is still way over thirty feet apart to be able to gather everyone into Haste spell. Anything else Elektra would rather do>
We can assume that Flynn is doing something heroic.
Devora waits.
Severo flies toward Elektra putting a keen edge upon his falchion.
Using Divine Bond is a standard action. Severo is still flying, so he could move sixty feet as a move action.
Devora touches Severo as he flies by. The Pathfinder Bard then moves toward and in front of Elektra. She remains invisible. She then looks at the undead.

Devora maintains her invisibility and moves toward the undead horror.
Elektra does something heroic.
Brandark gets into the action and charges the undead, but to no effect.
Stone's Spiritual Ally continues to assault the undead horror. It achieves a near critical hit against the former Black Arrow.

That was near epic!

Elektra Stardancer |

I think caleb even hits as a nat 20 always penetrates.
Bowing deeply to Caleb and Esai Electra thanks her friends for their help, making sure that they know that their aid was instrumental vanquishing an evil of great magnitude.
She then casts detect magic.

GM Mazra |

Good catch. I was focusing on the total score. You are right the 20 also hit the undead. So the undead is now really dead.
Both Caleb and Esai return the bow and vanish back to their home plane.
The Hound Archons are very effective for sure.
Elektra and the party look about the massive stone throne room.
They will find that the undead horror is indeed Lamatar Bayden the former commander of the Black Arrows and Fort Rannick. Lamatar’s body is caked with ice; his left hand looks almost to be a claw made of icicles and his brow is decorated with a crown of the same.
Devora will wonder out loud, "How did this happen?"
Lamatar Bayden was a powerful foe at the end of the third book. Pathfinder even made a miniature of him. The detail in the miniature is outstanding.(Lamatar Bayden Miniature)
Elektra will determine that both the Chain Shirt and Longbow radiate magic on the body of the former undead.
The two smaller Stone Giants do not radiate magic, but on the no longer flying Stone Giant, you will see that its headband radiates magic, along with poking out from under its belt a wand. You will also notice that around its neck the Stone Giant wears a familiar device. It too has a Sihedron Medallion, and it radiates magic the same as the one that Brandark wears.
The party's eyes will widen when they see that several items radiate magic behind the throne:
Among what looks like various art objects, statuary, paintings, vases, etc., the party will see a suit of leather armor, a longbow, a longsword, a belt, a cloak, a pair of boots, and numerous arrows that all radiate magic.
During this time no enemies, no Lucretia, no body comes into this great hall.

Elektra Stardancer |

Telling the others what she found Electra smiles at the load. Especially the items to wear get her fancy.
Pointing to the cloak she smiles.
"I would not mind wearing one of those, but if someone needs it to keep unseen, I will gladly defer it."

Severo Lione |

Severo walks up to the pile of loot and plucks out the boots, getting a little blood on them. He's obviously still injured, but it isn't slowing him down yet.
"Brandark, I suggest you take one of the bows." The holy knight seems to deliberate in his head for a moment before adding, "...I still do not know who Lucretia is, but I imagine she will not pose a challenge to warriors like you. Should you require it, I will continue to travel with you for a time."

Flynn Elric |

I'll take the magic arrows. As for Lucretia... we don't really know who she is, i could have found out but someone decided to attack her instead of letting the spy do his work. Flynn says holding a bit of a grudge still. She's a threat peace old friend, attaches to several groups and problems. I'd appreciate you staying

![]() |

Flynn why don't you take the icy burst bow as well. And it's true we don't know a lot about Lucretia but she's not the reason we're here we're fairly beat up and we're running low on spells why don't we go ahead collector our stuff and get out of here and deal with her later. Also Severo could you come over here so I can stop you from bleeding over everything. By the way do we want to interrogate that giant I think he still alive?
cure light: 1d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 4 = 13
cure light: 1d8 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 3 = 9

Just so you all know I maybe able to send out one more healing wave but then I'm completely out.

GM Mazra |

Devora will search the giants for anything of value. In addition to a masterwork earth breaker, she will find a leather satchel with 13 black onyx gems (50gp each), a spell book with animate dead, fear, fireball, fly, ray of exhaustion, vampiric touch, blindness/deafness, command undead, ghoul touch, spectral hand, chill touch, magic missile, ray of enfeeblement, detect magic, mage hand, prestidigitation, read magic, and touch of fatigue. And finally a large Note.
Oops! I forgot the magic on the Stone Giant leader.
wand of enervation (12 charges)
headband of vast intelligence +2 (enhances Knowledge [arcana])

Brandark Plainswalker |

I also suggest that Flynn takes this belt as well.
Brandark takes the time to bag up everything that he can.
People, we are going to need to get to the city to get rid of some of this stuff
He pauses for a minute while he reads the note.
But we will have to return to Sandpoint post haste. Waving the note in the air.
I think they mean to attack the town.

Severo Lione |

"I see no value in interrogating the giant. We were to bring the remains of your commander to the fey as well. I see only one candidate here. Though this attack on Sandpoint would no doubt annihilate such a small village." Severo takes the time to behead the wraith and stow it away as he speaks.

Flynn Elric |

belt wont help, already have something doing the same magics. But i will take the ice bow. We have that other hallway to check out before we go. I also suggest we see to the fey on the way back to town. Maybe we can get help getting to town quicker

Devora Heidmarch |

"Do not remove the head of this undead. Let us take the whole body back to this fey. Do we leave the Stone Giants unconscious? As to the other areas unexplored, I suggest we move past it and get out of here. We have what we came for. We are all exhausted and depleted of protection and spells. What do you say?" Devora offers her advice then peers down toward the unexplored area.

Devora Heidmarch |

Devora, still invisible, heads toward the fog. She returns and speaks to Elektra and the party, "The fog is coming from that area we did not go into. There is nothing in the main passage. We may be able to move pass it and get out of these caves."

Brandark Plainswalker |

Any idea on what that is.
Brandark backs up from the cloud, but remains alert for hazards.

Normally I would be all for clearing this place out completely but we are banged up and completely out of spells well I'm completely out of spells. How about we go rest then come back?
