I believe it is literally everyone else's turn before Severo goes. *sigh* The downside of using all your feats for a theme.

Round Two....mostly

Devora rides toward the west tower and dismounts.

Brandark charges Abacus toward the third Stone Giant. The Dwarf Cavalier drives his lance deep into the massive humanoid.

Abacus attacks, but the Stone Giant tough skin weathered the mighty horse's attack.

As the Half-Orc Gorvi begins to lower the portcullis, a Hound Archon appears and charges through the north wall. Caleb attacks the third Stone Giant, but did not land a strike with its trusty Greatsword.

Elektra follows up with an Acid Arrow from her wand. She hits, though barely, the third Stone Giant.

Flynn, now atop the wall, fires a volley of arrows at the first Stone Giant. His first two arrows bury into the tough-skinned humanoid.

Stone pulls out his new wand and tries to hold the second Stone Giant, but the Giants resist the Cleric's attempt.

Stone Giant 2 Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

I added small white lines to indicate where the pass through point on the north wall. I have it at 15' wide. This way I can trace lines of sight through the opening in the wall. Stone could clearly see the third Stone Giant, but he could barely see the second one as well. With the second one more healthy, this made more sense for the Hold Person.

Orik continues to send an arrows= toward the fourth Stone Giant.

composite longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d8 ⇒ 3

Father Zantus runs to the top of the west tower. He orders the Acolyte to get to the east tower.

The male and female Acolytes obey Father Zantus and head to the East Tower at a run.

The top guard loads another bolt and fires it at the first Stone Giant. The bolt does not penetrate the Stone Giant's tough hide.

MW Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 151d8 ⇒ 7

The first Stone Giant takes a step up and throws a rock at the top guard. The rock strikes the top guard solidly, knocking out the Sandpoint veteran.

Stone Giant 1 Rock, PBS, 1st attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 11 + 1 = 271d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 1 = 20

He throws another rock at Flynn on the East Tower. It misses the Human Inquisitor.

The second Stone Giant takes a step back, chokes up on his great club, and begins to work on the Dwarf Cavalier. He strikes Brandark with his forward swing, but misses with the back swing.

Stone Giant 2 greatclub, PA: 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (13) + 16 - 3 = 262d8 + 12 + 9 ⇒ (2, 6) + 12 + 9 = 29

Gored by Brandark's Lance, the third Stone Giant howls at the Dwarf Cavalier, and tries to finish what the second Stone Giant started. At like the second, the third hits with its forward but misses with its back.

Stone Giant 3 greatclub, PA: 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 3 = 292d8 + 12 + 9 ⇒ (6, 2) + 12 + 9 = 29

That is a total of 58 points of damage on Brandark.

The fourth Stone Giant sees a human come to the top of tower. It throws a pair of rocks at the Padre. The first rock nearly knocks out Father Zantus. The second rock missed. But the first truly did its damage.

Stone Giant 4 Rock, PBS, 1st attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 1 = 321d8 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 1 = 16

Severo and Round Three...well mostly

Severo rides to battle, dismounts, and readies for an attack.

Devora climbs the wall taking a position over the gates. She continues her epic poem. (26/29)

Brandark leaves his lance into the third Stone Giant. He then leads Abacus back toward the North Wall gates, pulling out a potion, and activating his Sihedron Medalion.

The third Stone Giant takes a swing at the departing Dwarf Cavalier, but with his well-trained mount Abacus, he was able to maneuver away from the Giant's attack.

Stone Giant 3 greatclub: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 252d8 + 12 ⇒ (5, 2) + 12 = 19

Caleb tries to work on the third Stone Giant, but the big brute's tough skin was too much for the Hound Archon to penetrate.

Elektra follows up with a Magic Missile at the third Stone Giant.

Flynn activates his Bane ability and delivers a blistering volley of arrows against the first Stone Giant as it attempts to breach the eastern portion of the North Wall. The third arrow scratches but does not stick into the Stone Giant's hardened skin.

Stone moves up and asks for and receives an Obscuring Mist that covers a large portion of the wall.

Orik moves out of the mist and fires an inspiring arrow at the third Stone Giant. But though he was inspired, Orik is better with sword and shield than with a longbow.

The Female Acolyte moves through the center of the east tower. She sees through the door that leads to the eastern portion of the wall the fallen top guardsman. The bolt sticks into the Stone Giant's throat. The Stone Giant drops its greatclub and reaches towards its neck with both hands.

The first Stone Giant, trying feverishly to remove the bolt from its throat, retreats back into the woods.

This is just an observation about the map: In the days of castles, the area around the wall would be cleared of trees to provide clear shots for the archers on the walls. There would be no trees near the walls.

Seeing the mighty Hound Archon Caleb, and the third Stone Giant wounded, the second Stone Giant moves to take care of the problem. He delivers a powerful blow against the Hound Archon.

@Elektra - I forgot about Caleb's DR 10/Evil. The second Stone Giant hit Caleb for 26-10=16. The third one hit Caleb for 28-10=18. This is a total of 34. Caleb has 39 HPs to start. However, the third Stone Giant could have taken a second attack.

Actually, those things do matter. If you could help this old GM out, when you summon something, go ahead and provide the augmented stats. If we were ftf, you would be maintaining those stats. Though the second strike would have still sent Caleb back, in the future that may not be the case. Thanks. Mazra.

Severo and Round Four

Severo does a Divinyls kind of thing, then attacks the fourth Stone Giant, hitting it with his first blow.

Devora moves around Orik then fires an arrow at the second Stone Giant. It sticks into the giant's tough skin. She continues her epic poem.

Brandark takes a moment to drink a potion.

Elektra makes a critical strike with an Acid Arrow from her wand.

Flynn, with his superior location atop the east tower, continues pelting the Stone Giants with arrows. One of his arrows stick into the injured third Stone Giant.

Stone calls out to Gorvi to raise the gate. Gorvi starts to raise it, when Stone passes through, then moves next to the Dwarf Cavalier to deliver a healing touch. Between this and the potion, Brandark is feeling near healthy.

Orik also puts an arrow into the second Stone Giant.

@Severo - Yes, I understand the LoH. I just forgot to update your HPs in the prior round. The Divinyls comment was a bad joke about you touching yourself. :) But thanks for keeping up with your stats. It is appreciated. By the way, what again is Severo's weapon? It is not listed in his stats.

Severo's Round Four

Severo pummels over and over again on the fourth Stone Giant. It falls to the ground.

Was Severo using non-lethal damage?

Round Five

Devora fires an arrow that sticks deep into the second Stone Giant. She then breaks her bow string.

Brandark, aboard Abacus, gallops back into the fray. The Dwarf Cavalier hacks into the big stony humanoid. But Abacus bites and stomps doing massive damage to the creature.

Flynn adds a couple more arrows for good measure as the second Stone Giant falls down dead.

The assault on the north wall is over.

A rams horn can be heard from below the Cathedral. Seeing that things are under control here, Orik calls out, "It is Sheriff Hemlock. He is at Tanner's Bridge. Go quickly, he must need more help."

Round Six

What does the party do?

Elektra still has Round Five actions. Stone would have seen the second Giant fall, so he too can take other Round Five actions.

I have added a map called Tanner's Bridge and the Tannery. This assault was supposed to start in Round Three, but Elektra's illusion delayed things a bit. But the Stone Giants, along with their Dire Bears have crossed into town. The map is adequate for this encounter. Treat the large fortified structure in the middle as being Tanner's Mill. The rest are simple houses.

I have not placed the party on the map as yet. If you come by foot or horseback, I placed a smiley face for where you will be coming in. It will take two rounds by horseback. You really don't want to run to it. The only ones on a mount at present are Brandark and Elektra.

Severo is using a falchion and doing non-lethal damage, yes.

Satisfied with a job well done, Severo re-mounts his horse and heads over to tanners bridge. On the way, he uses his Divine Bond to upgrade his Falchion into a +2 keen weapon in a flash of radiance.

Falchion makes sense with its crit on an 18. It is one of my favorite weapons for this very reason.

I like to think of it as a scimitar but bigger to go with the Sarenrae style. It's already nothing like what a historical falchion looked like, so why not have a bit of fun with it right?

This is a cool looking Falchion.

I agree. It has all the qualities of a Scimitar, but with that added girth. Scimitars for the Clerics. Falchions for the Paladins. Makes sense to me.

To aid the others with the traveling Electra quickly casts haste to speed up the traveling time.

Round Five Complete

Elektra moves up to gather everyone around and cast Haste on the party.

Round Six

Some members of the party was on the walls, others were on horseback. The party hastily moves toward Tanner's Bridge

The quickest route from the North Wall to Tanner's Bridge is a narrow path through the graveyard that sits on the side of the hill. On the Sandpoint map I have added lines from Yellow Star to Yellow Star. The party will not arrive at the same time as those already on horseback will arrive one round ahead of those that were on the wall. Stone will have jumped on Shadowmist in Round Five.

Devora and Flynn will move quickly to gather their mounts and follow the rest of the party.

The rest of the party moves at a considerable pace and reach the area near Tanner's Bridge.

Round Seven

I have given the party a new set of initiatives.

Devora and Flynn continue toward Tanner's Bridge.

Elektra, Brandark, Stone and Severo are on the Tanner's Bridge map and can take actions in Round Seven. I have Elektra just off the map.

I suggest that you don't use those horses in the fight. The only one that I suggest coming into the fight is Abacus.

Seeing Brandark coming aboard Abacus, Sheriff Hemlock takes a step out of the way, "Give 'em some room boys, the cavalry is coming."

He then fires a crossbow bolt at the Dire Bear. It sails over the big creature's body.
