Round Ten Complete

Flynn sinks two arrows deep into second Stone Giant.

Stone's Spiritual Ally opens up a can of whoop a$$ on the third Dire Bear.

Stone then tries to put a Hold on the second Stone Giant from his Wand. It resists the Cleric's attempt.

Round Eleven

Elektra's Bralani flies back a bit and unloads another Lightning Bolt against the Juvenile Red Dragon. But the Red fellow was ready for it, and dodged most of its effect.

Juvenile Red Reflex Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Elektra then sends another Acid Arrow toward the second Stone Giant. It strikes the big guy. The second Stone Giant begins to stagger.

As it falls, Flynn puts a couple of extra arrows into it. The second Stone Giant is killed.

Devora moves up continuing her Epic Poem.

Brandark, with Abacus, finishes off the third Dire Bear.

The Sandpoint Guards realize they are unable to keep up with the fleeing first Stone Giant and returns back to town.

Severo and Stone can take other actions now in Round Eleven.

Devora returns to her horse, still maintaining her Epic Poem.

The Juvenile Red Dragon goes after the Bralani with all it has. However, with it resistance to damage, the Azata was able to withstand much of the attack.

I adjusted the Bralani's HPs from last round to take into effect the 10/Cold Iron DR. And this series of attacks only did 12 HPs of damage to the Bralani. The Bralani is truly a powerful creature to Summon in, far more so than the Hound Archons.

It is clear to the party that the Bralani is at least keeping the Juvenile Red Dragon busy.

The party has secured this part of town. But now there is the matter of a Red Dragon causing more panic than harm at the moment. Its first attack did little damage to the mostly stone Sandpoint Garrison structure.

And then there is the matter of the commotion further to the south. What does the party do?

As the party hesitates briefly to regroup their actions, a villager comes running up from the south, "Please help! There are Stone Giants gathering up the villagers alive and putting them into massive sacks. They are just a couple of blocks south."

Keep in mind the following logistics: The Bralani and Dragon are about fifty feet up in the air and two hundred feet down range to the west. See Sandpoint Map. Also the commotion is about three hundred feet to the south. I have tokens on the map to represent where the action is taking place. Obviously, the tokens are not to scale. :)

Round Twelve

The party moves south near the west bank of the Turandarok River.

@Elektra - What does your Hound Archon and Bralani do in Round Twelve?

Round Thirteen

Staying with the same initiatives, so everyone is up.

There is a new map. It is called Teraktinus. (More on that later.) The party is positioned on their starting point on the map. This map is very different from the previous maps. This was someone's draft of Sandpoint that I have added grid lines. The scale is massive. Every square is ten feet across. So you will need to zoom in to clearly see your tokens. There are other enemies, but you cannot see them from your current location. This map does correspond to the Sandpoint Map. I have added the Sandpoint Map reference numbers to this map so you can see exactly where you are on the full Sandpoint town map.

Next time, i suggest we discuss this as a group. And let it be known i am against leaving a flying dragon burning the town. As the dragon cannot be tracked if it flies away, these giants can and the people be rescued. Continuing that, the numbers are against you, there are more people that are in the town, in danger. He seems very miffed

The hound archon will transform to a hound and run towards south.

@Elektra - Looking at the scale of the Sandpoint map. Elektra would have needed to stop to be within range of the Dragon with her Magic Missile (200 feet maximum range). And even then, she would have been at the very extreme of that range. As a result, she will not start on the Teraktinus map for Round Thirteen.

Devora too will have stopped her progress south.

The comments and discussion changed my mind about the direction, but we should be able to blitz through these giants quickly enough to redirect to the dragon fairly fast

With the debate, and the solid arguments in favor of the dragon, Brandark starts to ride in that direction only to pause when he sees the giant to the south.

Lets quickly deal with these, on the way to the dragon then.
Faster we are done, the faster we get to that threat.

He then draws out his new axe, and starts to ride in the southern direction towards the only visible giant at the moment.

Round Twelve Complete

Elektra lags behind the party to shoot off a Magic Missile that, though barely, strikes the Dragon.

The Hound Archon turns into a true hound and follows Elektra.

The Bralani flies back and fires arrows at the Juvenile Red, but the first arrow bounces off the flying creatures touch scales. The Azata's second arrow sails wide.

Flynn, Brandark, Stone, Severo and Devora move south.

The Red Dragon breathes fire at the Bralani.

Bralani Reflex Save, needs a DC21: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Round Thirteen Start

@Elektra - I went ahead and used your Magic Missile attack against the Dragon. It is below 100hps now. Elektra can take a move action to be on the Teraktinus map. She can then take a standard action. Caleb will be with Elektra as it is a standard action for Caleb to use its Beast Shape ability. Caleb can also take a move action to be on the Teraktinus map. What else do you do in Round Thirteen? Also, the Bralani may have been hurt, but he can still act in Round Thirteen as well.

@Flynn - Since you moved south with the party, you can take Round Thirteen Actions.

Brandark, while drawing out his new axe, steers Abacus closer to the Stone Giant.

Stone provides some healing to Severo.

Severo provides himself additional healing and drives his mount further South.

Devora rides to a point in the midst of the party, and once again begins her epic poem.

Everyone gets the +2 to hit and damage again.

The Stone Giant has a large sack on its back with squirming contents. It takes a rock and throws it at Brandark, beaning the Dwarf Cavalier.

It then takes cover with a nearby building.

Elektra continues to shoot Magic Missiles at the Juvenile Red.

Caleb returns to combat form and moves south against the Stone Giants.

The Bralani fires more arrows at the Red Dragon, but all of its attacks bounce off the Dragon's tough scales.

Flynn fires arrows at the Stone Giant. His first arrow misses the mark. But his second arrow strikes true.

The Red Dragon attacks the Bralani with all its got. The Bralani survives to fight another round.

Round Fourteen

Elektra makes it south toward the Stone Giants.

Caleb moves to engage the Stone Giants.

Elektra's Bralani flies back and fires more arrows at the Juvenile Red. But all of its arrows fail to penetrate the Dragon's tough hide.

Flynn continues his barrage of arrows against the Stone Giant that now has partial cover. But even with cover, two of Flynn's arrows strike true.

Brandark charges the first Stone Giant with Abacus.

The Stone Giant takes a swing with its greatclub at the approaching Dwarf Cavalier. It strikes Brandark with its blow.

The Dwarf Cavaliers then slices into the Stone Giant with his battleaxe. And Abacus stomps on the big humanoid as well. The Stone Giant doesn't fall, but it doesn't feel very well.

Stone tries to hold the Stone Giant, but the attempt from his wand fails.

Devora stays in her saddle, rides her horse forward, and fire an arrow at the Stone Giant. It sticks into the big creature. The Stone Giant staggers and falls.

A second Stone Giant rounds the corner and charges the Dwarf Cavalier. It swings at Brandark, but the Dwarf Cavalier's armor resisted the blow.

Devora pulls a magic arrow to see if that can make a difference at this longer range for her Darkwood Composite Shortbow against the charging Stone Giant.

@Elektra - Scorching Ray has a short range. 50 feet for Elektra. I moved her closer to the action in this Round. You can use your Scorching Ray in the next Round.

Caleb charges the second Stone Giant.

The second Stone Giant takes a swing at the approaching Archon. It hits the mighty Caleb, but the Hound Archon was able to absorb much of the attack's effect. However, Caleb was unable to land a blow against the tough-skinned giant.

Flynn fires arrows at the second Stone Giant. Two of the arrows stick, one just missed a critical location.

Brandark moves Abacus next to Caleb and hacks into the Stone Giant with Issakaz. Abacus adds a stomp too. The attacks do massive damage to the Stone Giant. However, the big humanoid does not fall.

Stone calls forth a Flame Strike that engulfs the two back Stone Giants.

Stone Giant 3 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Red Stone Giant Reflex Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Both Stone Giants manages to dodge the Flame Strike's full effect.

Severo continues his advance in an attempt to box in the Stone Giants.

Devora dismounts her horse in order to make her best shot with her shortbow. The arrow stick into the second Stone Giant. The Stone Giant's eyes rolls back into its head and it falls down unconscious.

The third Stone Giant moves forward dodging some of the flames, then moves on to attack the Dwarf on the horse. It chokes up with both hands on it greatclub. Batter up!

The third Stone Giant lands a solid strike upon Brandark.

The back Stone Giant is larger than the other Stone Giants. Seeing the way forward is blocked by the third Stone Giant, the big humanoid eyes another target. He advances toward Severo. He has a heavy pick in his right hand, a light pick in his left.

He calls out in the common tongue looking at Severo, "A Half-Orc Paladin, how unique. Your kind were meant to serve our kind. But Teraktinus will just end you instead." The big Stone Giant swings with both picks at Severo. The large pick does damage, but the light pick glances off the Half-Orc Paladin's armor.
