The Honorable Mayor Deverin |

My Lady Mayor Brandark exclaims Please for the sake of calm, keep all but the guard out of the glassworks for now.
The problem is under control, but we would like to investigate, and it is easier with less people involved.
If you wish further information, please come see us at the Rusty Dragon after we get lady Ameiko settled.
"Understood. Thank you," she turns and finds one of the guards in the crowd, then leaves.
A couple of hours later, the Mayor arrives at the Rusty Dragon accompanied by Shalelu. She is even more disheveled with tear streaks upon her face.
"Shalelu has told me what has happened. We have guards in the tunnel. But we have ordered them to not go beyond the bend until you can search the tunnels further. We must close this way into our town, and as quickly as possible," frantically the Mayor makes a plea to the party.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath nods at the Mayor's words. "It is good that the guards are there, they can help keep watch. I would see no harm come to Shalelu. I hope I speak for my friends here as well; While I have a clan, I have come to view Sandpoint as a home, and care for the town and its people. If there are enemies below, we will root them out. I think though that we need a bit of a rest to rally ourselves and heal from wounds.

The Honorable Mayor Deverin |

"Of course, by all means, ready yourself. I will make sure to rotate the guards," the Mayor responds to Garrath.
After Kelvin's comment, "I have never seen such a gruesome horror. Those poor people must have suffered greatly. Many of them have lived in Sandpoint their whole life. And Lonjiku, he was an angry man, but he should not have died in such a way. He was an important part of what made Sandpoint successful." She struggles to hold back tears.

Brandark Plainswalker |

He looks at the others, I take it we will be going to investigate in the morning.
Mayor, if you will pardon me Brandark says. I will be going to the church of the dawnflower, to make arrangements for those people to be put to rest.
With that, Brandark, walks to the church of Sarenrae and asks to see the father.

Padre Zantus |

Brandark will discover that Father Zantus is working with several acolytes at the Glassworks to gather the remains. The workers and Lonjiku are being prepared for burial at the cemetery. They will also be building a pyre outside of Sandpoint on the beach to burn the remains of the Goblins and Tsuto this evening.
The funeral for the Glassworks workers will be in the morning. Lonjiku will be entombed in the Kaijitsu family crypt.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Father Zantus, I came to apologize that I will not be available tomorrow to assist in the burials. Brandark mentions.
My friends and I will be busy, but I will help you now
With that, Brandark will help the acolytes and the padre gathering and transporting the remains.
Brandark was going to arrange for this anyways, but I see the guards let them know

Elektra Stardancer |

Elektra will return to her room to write down what has happened. Then she will start to scribe the two new scrolls into her spellbook.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17 Comprehend Language
spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Summon Monster 1

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath will eat and drink at the Dragon, being amiable with any locals, especially any that seem worried, assuring them that the group will take care of any trouble. He'll then set about cleaning and repairing any damage done to his gear, then sleep.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

After returning with Ameiko to her Inn, Kelvin walks around the perimeter of the town, speaking with the guards at each of the gates, praising them for their devotion to duty and their actions during the goblin infestation. He tries to help build up morale for the men and women in the guards. After doing that he heads back to the Inn, and after dinner with the rest of the group heads up to his room to get a good nights sleep before setting out the next day.

Brandark Plainswalker |

After helping the Father with the arrangements in the evening, Brandark will come back to the Rusty Dragon, eat supper, bathe, then clean and repair his gear, then go to sleep.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I would have, but I got busy. :)

GM Mazra |

DC 20 to identify. +1 Ring of Protection (1000GP)
Kelvin will squeeze in a visit with Maver Kesk, "Again nice standard pearls, 50 each, the Silver Earrings are 25. But this Malachite Pendant is very interesting. You find such fascinating stuff. Normally Malachite is not worth much, but this is exquisitely crafted, more so than any alive would be able to perform without precise Magic.". He pulls out a wand to test it further. " No Magic was used. This was crafted by an ancient craftsman using techniques long lost. I would give you 300 gold pieces alone for this piece."
The armorer would give 40GP for the Composite Short bow.
Did I miss anything? Let me know your next actions. Thanks.

Ranger Shalelu |

Day Seven
Ameiko was up early preparing breakfast with Brathana almost as though nothing had happened.
Shalelu is up early too, sipping tea in the kitchen. She looks ready to go. From Tsuto's note, she knows it is Thistletop that is ultimately where she must go. But for know, Sandpoint is still vulnerable from below. She hopes Belor returns soon.

"Lyr" |

The night before, Lyr takes her share to the weapons shop. She approaches the store owner. I would like to find a better glaive. Do you have one of superior construct? She continues and buys one if they have it. Then goes back to the Rusty Dragon for dinner and sleep.
Early in the morning, Lyr wakes and prepares her spells for the day.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

Kelvin spent the day working with the jeweler, armorer and weapons smith in town and comes back with a sack of coins for each one.
"There is 277 gp and 9 sp in each pouch. That is what we were able to sell the rotten goblin equipment for, as well as the cash we found,"
He then gives the gold ring to Elektra who identifies it as a magical protection ring and he asks "who wants this. I suggest either Brandark or Garrath since they will be getting beat on most of the time whenever we explore."

Brandark Plainswalker |

Night before
Kelvin, my thanks for doing that. Brandark mentions.
As for the ring, I would suggest that we let Lady Lyr as her use of a glaive does not let her have a sheild, and I appreciate the healing that she does.
Next morning
Coming into the Rusty Dragon after checking on Abacus
Lady Ameiko, it is good to see you up and around, although no one would fault you if you wanted to take the day off.
He then gets a plate of food, and sits down at the table to eat.

At Savah's Armory, SAVAH BEVANIKY does have a Glaive of superior construction (Masterworks). "Normally, I would sell such a fine weapon for 300, but for one of the Heroes of Sandpoint, I will let it go for 240GP," Savah smiles.

Ranger Shalelu |

Shalelu will look at the party, "Are we ready to go and search out those tunnels?"
The tunnels are narrow. Shalelu will search for tracks, but then move to the back to cover the rear. It will mostly be single file. I am assuming Kelvin will lead, then Garrath, Brandark, Lyr, Elektra with Shalelu last. Let me know if you would prefer a different order.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

"Yes, let us see where those little rats ran off to, and make sure that they do not come back" grins Kelvin.
"After we get into the tunnels, let me get about 30 feet ahead of the group, but you two" and he points at Brandark and Garrath, "be ready to come save me if I get swarmed by these little rats. Ok."
"Marching Order" looks good for me.
When out in front, he stows his longbow, and wields his rapier. If necessary, he will head back behind the two burly warriors, drawing his longbow and providing ranged support, otherwise he stays up front looking for flanks.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I agree Kelvin, we should go soon, so they don't think to come back. Brandark grimaces. We should make it so they fear coming back to Sandpoint.
Marching order sounds good to me.

Ranger Shalelu |

At the intersection Kelvin does not find any traps for 30 feet in either directions. Shalelu looks for tracks up to that point.
Survival to Track: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 = 25
"The tunnel to the east has not been traversed in some time. The one to the Northeast is the most heavily traveled. There are Goblin tracks mostly heading toward the Glassworks. The tunnel to the West, beyond the fallen bricks, is more disturbing. There is a track unlike anything I have ever seen. It may not even be from this world," the normally stoic Elf looks a little unsettled.
Shalelu looks back at the party, "Which way?", then heads to the back of the party.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I suggest we see where the goblins entered. Brandark comments. Once we close that off, how about we come back and look at this other track.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

Questions...
The guard and sergeant that we are talking to are at I37 on the Glassworks map?
The tunnel leading east from them splits into three tunnels at an intersection (aka a four way intersection), one "continues" northeast, one to the due east, and one to the due west?
The tunnel to the west has fallen bricks and has the strange tracks?
Sorry, I am a very visual person, and the map in my head is not jiving

Ranger Shalelu |

Kelvin, you visualize it well.
Shalelu will call the guards forward to the intersection. The younger guard is now shaking uncontrollably, "It is the Sandpoint Devil. I know it."
"Trust me. This is not the Sandpoint Devil," Shalelu says with a certainty.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

K (local) - Sandpoint Devil: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Glad I got *that* roll out of the way!
"Sandpoint Devil? What is that supposed to be?" Kelvin asks Shalelu.
"I agree with Brandark, let us save this brick tunnel to the last, so we are sure that nothing is behind us."
Assuming that this is ok with everyone else, he heads down the northeast tunnel, "goblins are good at setting traps, so this will take some time. Be alert."
Edit: "This must be the smugglers tunnel that is mentioned in Tsuto's journal. If so, could those tracks be from a quasit?" he asks the group. "And does anyone know what it's strengths and weakness are?"
heh, david just remembered reading it in the journal, therefore Kelvin remembered it....

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark scratches his head at the mention of this Sandpoint Devil.
Lad, if this Sandpoint Devil thing comes, you two just fall back to the glassworks. However, I think it is time we be moving on
With that, Brandark hefts his shield, and readies his axe. Lead on Mr. Fleetwood.
I know we are probably waiting on the others to chime in.
As for the journal, I just saw it (curse you hidden links :) )

Ranger Shalelu |

Shalelu looks at Kelvin, "Several people have seen a winged Demon Horse in the hinterlands. I believe there is something out there. I have seen strange shadows flying overhead at night. These tracks are not from a horse, or a Quasit. Something between those in size. I don't know anything about Quasits.".
Looking at the shaking guard, Shalelu says,"I will stay here with these two, just in case something comes up from these side tunnels."

GM Mazra |

The tunnel to the northeast continues for almost one third of a mile, beyond the boundary of the town. It will take some time to search that distance. It comes to a dead end.
Kelvin's Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Kelvin finds a secret door that opens into a 30-foot-diameter cave on the side of the cliff overlooking the Varisian Gulf. The cave mouth slopes down to a narrow beach. There is a crude collection of goblin beds or remnants of their meals strewn about the cave.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark looks at the cave and the door. At least for now we can stop the door.
With that, he shrugs out of his pack and fishes out a small hammer and a couple of spikes. This should make it difficult for these small green runts.
With that, he drives a spike into the gap at the bottom of the door.
He then puts the hammer away, and hoists the pack back on. Lead on he indicates when he is ready.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Don't forget with stonecunning, even if I am within 10' of a secret door made of stone, I have a chance of finding it even if not looking.
As for a light, I can maintain a lantern going, unless Lyr insists on using a light spell. I figure we can save that until we are going into combat. :)

Elektra Stardancer |

This shall be goblin work? I doubt it somehow. Goblins should be too chaotic and unorganized to do such a thing. Maybe a smuggling thing?
Elektra silently nods to Brandarks work and happily returns to the town. She will ask for more information about this sandpoint devil, so that she can identify it.
"Shalelu, could you please be a bit more specific about this sandpoint devil. I am pretty convinced that the peasants have just named some rather mundane monster with a brand of their own. Well not pretty convinced, but reasonable convinced. Yes. Well I think...."

I will try to remember this, but you will likely need to remind me again. I have a serious CRS problem. :)

Brandark Plainswalker |

That is why I wrote on my data line the +8 vs stonework.

Ranger Shalelu |

"Shalelu, could you please be a bit more specific about this sandpoint devil. I am pretty convinced that the peasants have just named some rather mundane monster with a brand of their own. Well not pretty convinced, but reasonable convinced. Yes. Well I think...."
"I have seen the fear in the eyes of those that have claimed to see it. I have seen a strange shadow at night. Witnesses refer to it as a extremely large demon horse with terrifying wings, and a large tooth maw," Shalelu shrugs.
