Brandark Plainswalker |

Ah, I misunderstood what you meant in the discussion thread.
Brandark seeing the ugly go down, walks back over to the little creature, and places his axe blade on her throat.
Still, or I will use my axe with intent.
Lady Lyr, my thanks for your skill at healing.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

While speaking something in Elvish to Elektra, Kelvin stows his longbow, picks up the dropped rapier and goes over to the bound creature, and stands next to Brandark. He holds the rapier at the creatures throat, and looks to Elektra for an answer.

GM Mazra |

A round later, another Ugly emerges from the pool. Last round for Garrath's Enlarge.
Round Twenty
Initiative Brandark: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Initiative Elektra: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Initiative Garrath: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Initiative Kelvin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Initiative Lyr: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Initiative Shalelu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Initiative Ugly: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
An Ugly emerges coming out in a tempest and strikes Elektra.
Ugly Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 151d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Elektra takes seven points of damage.
Elektra's Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Minutes: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Elektra is filled with horrible sinful thoughts. She has the sickened condition for ten rounds. -2 on just about everything.
The pool's glow dims further, but there appears to be life in it still.

Ranger Shalelu |

Shalelu will take a double shot of arrows at the Ugly.
Comp. Longbow Arrow 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Comp. Longbow Arrow 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Shalelu will put a pair of arrows into Ugly.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath tightens his grip on his Falchion and attempts to cleave into the Ugly again, "There will be an end to you, and we will be it!"
attack ugly: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 bab+power attack+reckless abandon
damage ugly: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13

Brandark Plainswalker |

Do we need this thing alive Elektra? Brandark Growls
Sickness 40/60
attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 1 = 6
damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 1 = 17
damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Elektra Stardancer |

Elektra trusts the others to deal with ugly while her opponent is a pool of transformative magic, an enemy even more vile in its innocence. How much more uglys till the pool becomes inert?

GM Mazra |

Round Twenty-One
Elektra flicks another drop of blood into the pool.
Garrath returns back to normal size.
The pool dims even further.
Round Twenty-Two
Initiative Brandark: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Initiative Elektra: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Initiative Garrath: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Initiative Kelvin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Initiative Lyr: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Initiative Shalelu: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Initiative Ugly: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Ranger Shalelu |

Elektra will go ahead of Shalelu. I am away from my PC, so I cannot adjust maps. I would assume a normal sized Garrath would be next to the pool.
As the Ugly emerges, the swirling mass in the pool fades to nothing leaving an empty stone basin.
Shalelu will send two more arrows just before the Ugly attacks.
Comp. Longbow Arrow One: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Comp. Longbow Arrow Two : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
She sticks the Ugly at least once, but not enough to drop it.

GM Mazra |

If still alive in its initiative, the Ugly will attack Garrath.
Ugly Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 191d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Garrath would take 5 points of damage.
Garrsth Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Sinful thoughts will plague Garrath's mind, so much so that it sickens him. -2 to about everything.

Kelvin Fleetwood |

Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d8 ⇒ 4
Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d8 ⇒ 5
After dispatching the bound demon, Kelvin sheathes his rapier, draws his longbow and shoots an arrow at the ugly, and critically hits it.
Assuming that it is down
"Well that was interesting. Elektra, do you know what caused them to appear from the pool?"

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Garrath shakes his head to clear the thoughts, but obviously whatever happened still haunts him. Even so, he brings his Falchion to bear.
attack Ugly: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6bab+power attack+ reckless abandon -2

Brandark Plainswalker |

seeing as kelvin killed the quasit or was it me not that it matters.
Brandark, moves up to the ugly and attempts to hack it down if still alive
attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 1 = 11
damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
sickness 38/60

Elektra Stardancer |

"Ancient Magic of a vile brutal way. A magic the transform magic energy and blood into an abdomination. It was time...... to end it. My dear Kelvin, and all the others, this is magic of an unholy kind. Do not get me wrong, we elves are mighty in the ways of magic. But we try to do in harmony of the world.... they try to rape it.

GM Mazra |

GM PC Lyr :(
Lyr swings her Glaive.
Lyr's Glaive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
And as appropriate, Lyr cuts down the last Ugly.
The pool's contents is empty. The coldness in the room fades.
We can continue on without Lyr, or I can open up recruitment again for a replacement. This can be a tough AP without a Cleric. You are at a point where you would need to rest anyway. I am open to suggestions.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Well, that interesting. Any ideas on what these indicating the ugly things are ?
Lady Elektra, also any suggestions for when we run into the next set of these ?

Elektra Stardancer |

Looking at Brandark and examining the dead bodies Elektra takes her time, scribbles down notes and looks up another entry in her diary. After she is sure she has found enough to answer she replies."This is just a theory, mind you, but I think those things are warriorslaves. Created to follow the whim of their creator. There are many rumors about the magical might of old Thassalonia and we follow in their footsteps. My suggestion for what to do when we meet them again. Kill them. My magic is of a diffrent kind, working to support and to hinder, not to destroy, but what I can do, I will offer in your aid! I think we should explore this area to its fullest. And the little dagger this slime had will fetch a pretty copper I guess."

Elektra Stardancer |

After a moment of ponder Elektra continues.I think we have spend enough time here. Let us try the next room. Taking care all magical items are taken care of, she prepares to move back to the statue and take the middle hall.

GM Mazra |

In addition to the Tiny Returning Dagger, Erylium wore a tiny tiara, a black silk gown, and an Obsidian object. There was nothing else of value in the Cathedral.
At the Statue of Alaznist, Lyr will Channel her last healing, then make leave of the party.
Channel Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Brandark Plainswalker |

Sergeant, I am not entirely sure, but Lady Elektra knows more about them than I.
However, if you can station a couple of soldiers in this area for now. The door to the north is lightly spiked.
It can be opened, but will make an awful noise if it is forced.
With that, Brandark heads after Elektra.

Padre Zantus |

Within an hour, Father Zantus with three more guards arrive on the scene. "Lyr told us about what has happened. We can hold this point overnight. Go rest, and return refreshed. Unfortunately Lyr has been summoned out-of-town. She hurried and left quickly. She will be missed. In the meantime, who is injured?" Father Zantus will heal up the party.
The earlier sparse crowd at the Rusty Dragon begins to fill as several travelers enter the Tavern and Inn.
The party is at the Rusty Dragon. There are strangers about, some of which may bring a new healer to the party. Please meet and greet in the Recruitment thread.

Brandark Plainswalker |

By Sarenrae's grace, my thanks father.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Shortly after the recruitment drive at the Dragon.
Kelvin, where did you sell that little bauble to. You know, the one that looks like Elektra's new toy Brandark waves his hand in the direction of the Ranseur.
I hope that the Shayliss is not here tonight, that would be embarassing.

Proprietor Kaijitsu |

Shayliss is not allowed into the Rusty Dragon according to her father. Of course that is according to her father. ;)
Ameiko will fill Calene's tankard with some more Dwarven Ale, "Bring your tankard. Let me show you to your room. There is no charge for room and board for the 'Heroes of Sandpoint.'"
I am assuming your Holy Symbol is your personal tankard.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Madam, we will be down there shortly after first light.
It was unfortunate that Lady Lyr got called back by her church.
That forced this unfortunate delay, however, where they are, is as safe as we could make it.

Calene Valdemar |

Calene's holy symbol is through the birthmark trait from Ultimate Campaign (Link). It's on the back of her left hand.
"I do not believe I have earned any such title, Ms. Kaijitsu, but I am afraid I am not so strong willed as to refuse a free room," Calene replies, inclining her head towards Ameiko. "Unfortunately, before I can retire for the evening, I have much to discuss with my new companions."
Calene is going to need to be caught up on the goings-on in Sandpoint. Unless anyone has anything they specifically would like to leave out of the summary, should I just assume that Calene now knows what the party knows?

Brandark Plainswalker |

Brandark waves takes a last ale, and fills Calene in on what has happened so far.
You should be able to earn such a title lady Calene
I cannot see to much changing except maybe Garrath embellishing the goings on with Shayliss

Calene Valdemar |

As the night wears on, Calene divulges the following information:
Lady Calene Valdemar was born into a side branch of the rich Valdemar merchant family. When she was born, the curious mug-shaped birthmark on her left hand led her family to realize that she was destined to become a great priest of Cayden Cailean; she was given the name Calene, after Cailean. When she came of age, she began her schooling by the clergy of the Accidental God. Although her duties consisted mostly of menial tasks, and the local “temple” was little more than a side room in an alehouse, she took to them with a passion. As she grew older, she was encouraged as all clergy are to travel and see more of the world. Her continuing travels have led her to Sandpoint, where she has been lured in by rumors of the fine taverns local to the city. She has a passing familiarity with the city, as one of her distant relatives aided greatly in establishing the city’s economy.
I should mention that Calene has the Merchant Family trait, "You increase the gp limit of any settlement by 20% and can resell items at an additional 10% over the amount of gp you normally would get from selling off treasure," so take that into account when selling treasure.
I'm good to jump right into day eight, unless anyone else has anything what needs doing.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

LOL, no, Garrath wouldn't need to, it was funny enough without embellishment. ;)

Brandark Plainswalker |

Well, I figured you if anyone would do the embellishment. After all, what kind of Shoanti would you be without embellishment. :)

Ranger Shalelu |

Shalelu rises early in the morning. The party will find her in the kitchen with Ameiko ready to go and drinking hot tea.
Day Eight
In Jewish numerology, the number Eight represents new beginnings. How appropriate!
Catacombs of Wrath map has been updated with new starting location. I will once again be away from my PC today. I will update again tonight.

Elektra Stardancer |

I think we should sell the returning dagger, it should fetch a pretty silver and I doubt anyone of us can use it. Elektra wil politly ask to subtract from her share the prize of the ranseur and heavely imply that those who fight are stocked with a masterwork weapon, remember MW Transformation, and another spare with diffrent abilitis like a blunt or piercing. A Morningstar would be great for example. And with the leftover money maybe buy a wand of clw. If she has, after expanses a bit money left, she will donate half of it to the chuch for the orphanage or something like that.
Brighteyed and Bushytailed Elektra starts early in the morning.
Greeting their new addition she will stock her spells for the day.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Right now, I think the dagger is the only thing that we have that can affect creatures with any kind of DR. It's the only magical weapon we've got. I believe Brandark, Kelvin, or Garrath could use it.
