When did you officially become a part of your legacy?
Hernan has known about it for most of his non-toddler life. Due to the superhuman powers he has inherited, things had to be explained early on. However, now in high school, he is now representing the legacy publicly for the first time.
What’s the greatest accomplishment of your legacy?
Punching Goebbels into paste.
How does the public perceive your legacy?
The original American Dream (Frieda White Harmon) is now in her early 90s, and is remembered mostly as one of the great golden age superheroes. The original Jester (Girard Kinner Harmon) passed on before Hernan was born, and is mostly remembered as the lucky normal human who married American Dream. Their daughter, Pamela Sue (who later married Mike Walker) had a brief stint in the sixties as a second Jester, but generally is remembered more for her civilian music career. Their son, Charles Walker, tried to pay tribute to both his grandparents as the DaDamerican, a black-leather glad peak human armed to the teeth. You could say he was more of a cult figure, in that no one was quite sure what to make of him. His romance and marriage to Cassandra Hernandez elevated him much like his grandfather’s marriage had before. She is known as Go, an incredibly powerful Dominican American superhero. Some conservatives saw the DaDamerican and his black girlfriend as a sacrilege to the original American Dream, but the old lady never thought so herself.
How does your legacy tie into your reasons for being a hero?
“We’ve always helped those in need and fought against oppressors. But if Nazis are making a comeback, we need to fight them as hard as we did in WW2.”
Why do you care about the team?
Hernan has been convinced by his father that this coming generation will be akin to Frieda and G.K.’s generation, historically, in that it comes down to them to fix all the messes that have occured since. So he is eager to work with other people his age, and hopes to convince them of the severity of the white nationalist problem in America.

Holy s%!&, the portrait for AD, I thought we had had a big ol' surprise visit
also, Alan walker first rose to prominence post WWII (like, 2 years, but I said 1947 somewhere).
But he and his son have been on more than a dozen hero teams (and the onus for most of them breaking up could be, say, laid ~35% at their door), so maybe he has been on a later team.
also, if they are active in the local hero scene, Herman and Alexandra/Gillian/Lily (well, mostly the first 2) might have met at fundraisers or little mixers.

Okay so, I think we got everybody on here, so I now have a pretty important question: do we have a method to this multi-GM madness? Are we gonna rotate in the GM seat? Do we even have a method here, or are we flying by the seat of our outside underpants? And on a related note, how many NPCs (primarily villains) are we allowed to create wholesale? Because I've been doing some digging on Scottish myths and man I've got some ideas cooking over here.

Hm. Well, mine's the signs of something bigger. How about a classic trope here, we found an ID or business card on Bone Daddy (man that's a great name) for the Anti-Paragon League, what appears to be a still-forming mysterious network of super villains?
Mine says we interact with a prominent hero ...I havent done the archive dive so I dunno who that might be.
Communication's really the goal (i.e. flying by the seat of our leotards, but you know, as a team). As far as villain/NPC creation the big thing I'll recommend is not to make too many more than will actually get introduced. That way lies madness and the Bran/Bronwyn cast page in the Character Bible :-p
That said, since we're talking about opening scenes, what I'd recommend is that we figure out a couple scenes that can comfortably introduce a few of the new people, then, once we've got a little momentum going, we can roll into a big honking When Our Team First Came Together (featuring Bone Daddy!)
But before the whole team can come together, it seems like it would be good to show how some of the pieces fit. So I guess here's a starting prompt: What did you do that let Wingblade, Bran/Bron, or Silver Shadow know you were a potential recruit? Could be an awkward moment at Halcyon High, could be existing connections to the wider world of capes meant that you just actually got introduced, could be some good old fashioned crime fighting.
Bonus points if your idea allows other new players to hop in, ideally this'll only be 2-3 different scenes going. And as always, plot twists and surprises are good, but if someone else starts the scene, don't send it off the rails without checking in first, especially while we're all getting to know each other.
Keep those ideas for When Our Team First Came Together though, we can make sure those show up in the first big All of Us scene!
@American Dream: Feel free to swipe someone out of the Character Bible (First page has active Defenders), or make up someone who's obviously very important and prominent and always has been :-)
Oooooo, I like the idea that the three of you each individually meet some of us newbies, then some big event happens in the distance (probably Bone Daddy's nonsense) that all of you go to respond to, and we just tag along.
As for what introduces my guy specifically, it's absolutely some small-time crime that he's either in the middle of busting up, or he comes in out of nowhere to help out. Probably like a mugging or convenience store robbery.

I was actually waiting to see how people interacted before deciding ships. If we stick to current PCs though, you don't really have a lot of options. Though if you want a sexuality, you can always just go with bi to keep your options open. But I mean, sexuality is fluid anyway, so picking a label up front isn't super necessary, imho. Or we could just start building up that Bran/Bronwyn dodecahedron. :-P

Mine is about breaking someone's rules. Maybe the Halcyon High folk go on a field trip, stuff starts to happen, the teachers all tell us to stay out of it and we don't? Though it also says "major rules," which that probably doesn't count as. Maybe we need to break a priceless artifact in the process? I mean, it is a museum, so there's gotta be one, right?

Have Delphi contact the Defenders/maybe Wingblade's mentor? If we want to include someone else, maybe Hex contacted someone who knew someone who knew someone who asked Delphi to set up Hex's fake ID to hide from her mom? If we want to stretch it further, maybe Delphi heard chatter about Alexis' escape, tracked her (him? zir? they?) down digitally and also pinged people about that? Not sure how much that consolidates scenes unless Delphi texts Kaoru and Hex to meet up (maybe with one of the vets as well?) and then tasks them with picking up Alexis.
The only other things that comes to mind is just Kaoru doing something when we fight Bone Daddy, though as not a combat focused character, that might be harder to work in. Unless she accidentally taps into her power negation ability and that somehow triggers Bran's Detect Magic even though it might not be magic (I can make it magic though if it helps). I'm open to any suggestions though.
Most of us are in the same school/year level, yeah? Maybe it happens on a field trip to the museum?... The fight could be the first time they realise there's other metas at the school that the old team could recruit.

If the natural history museum has any relationship / shares the building with the classics department then maybe someone who knows about Circe might be around?... I'll think about how to weave it in.

Hmm, there's a lot of different rules out there. What about time travel (paradox!)? Using a villain's equipment/power/maguffin? Breaking someone out of prison, or stealing an established hero's power source? Agreeing to let someone go who's going to cause problems in the future? Agreeing to do a favor for a bad guy in the future?
I might be able to think of more, but this should be a start.
I came up with this list of possible rules that could be broken at the very start of this campaign when we had another delinquent... (Yeah, Herman, you remind me of someone!)
Kaoru, as far as your hacking goes, you can always do things like run to the security center and start helping out from there. From being the "Guy/gal in the chair" to making sure doors are locked/unlocked, lights on/off, and controlling other security systems, just let your imagination run wild. Maybe you hack into the wing of the animatronic dinosaurs and set them loose against the ones made of bone?
A class trip or other reason for a bunch of us to be at the museum sounds good - but ideally I'd like to get some interactions in before The Big Scene.
That way the "Wait what?! New girl has powers?!" kind of moments will have a little more of an impact if you already had a "Wow, the new girl's kind of a freak/really hot/super nice" interaction.
But if everyone wants to roll right into the museum... well hey, I'm not the GM :-p
Also, I have to come up with at least two people who's respect I'm trying to earn....

Totally agree,... I'd like some awkward getting to know you/relatively normal stuff before we unveil the newbies (to establish some personalities etc.).
@Hex: Well, I don't know anything about the story so far, but since we've established both that magic will be a part of your story, and that objects can serve as "spirit hosts" or whatever with Bran, how about Circie's greatest enemy is whoever is walking around with the soul of Odysseus nowadays? Maybe you don't even necessarily know who has the soul now, only that Circie mentioned that it might still be floating around bound to a barnacle-encrusted gladius or something like that.

Zomg, LOVE the animatronic dinosaur idea. So that definitely needs to happen now. I will also admit that this is my first really rules-light system, so I'm still working on figuring out how that kind of works in regards to how much my character is able to do.

I mean, the two aren't mutually exclusive; you can get interaction in between characters before the initial fight and still have the fight be what gets someone recruited to the team.

My thoughts are that Alexis has been on the run from Omega for about six months now. But perhaps she's on the radar of those monitoring the SIDEKICK laws, because she's been defending other homeless from young idiots attempting to roll them or harass them for fun. She wouldn't know anything about the law on vigilantism either, so she wouldn't know that her activity would be marked and reported. After all, concurrent reports of a 'homeless youth assaulting suspected criminals' is bound to trickle up to Wingblade or her mentor. Perhaps Whippoorwill is the one to mention it to her to look into, monitor her from a distance?
Though she is also probably staying close to the Halcyon High School for a couple of reasons - first, because she can root through the trash for clothes that fit after washing. Second, because she might sneak in to use the showers or raid the cafeteria after hours. We open on the Girls locker room, well past closing. one of the showers is operating regardless. as the showering girl exits, she finds a smiling girl in a duster and hat
the Showering girl gives some variant on "Who the hell are you? What the f*%! are you doing here?"
Well, yesterday, I spotted the Cam good ol' Jessie placed up in there. took it down, but decided to see if there was any truth to the rumors about Alana and Kaitlyn. Imagine my surprise when I saw a girl coming in here every few days, to shower at 3 am.
OK,,... So, maybe during the fight Hex animates a statue of Odysseus using, some kind of magical MacGuffin from the Museum. Although not the real Odysseus, it sensed Circe's essence/magic in Hex and denounced us all (everyone else as allies of Circe) and then stomped off somewhere. He remains lose in the city being all classically heroic and statuesque.
So:

Oh, Kaoru, I also had an idea that might help you get your mind around the "power negation" ability since I'm getting the sense that you're not really sure how it'll manifest. But since your main ability is "gadgetry and hacking," perhaps your gadgets specialize in nullifying powers? Glue bombs to gum up wings and jet packs, foam retardant to nullify flame powers, defoliant spray to negate plant control, etc.
If your gadgets specialize in power negation, then that lets Silver Shadow's gadgets be a little more classic utility belt gadgets. Thoughts?

It's been a while since I read them. I just know I was initially drawn in because I had fun trying to guess the monster of the week from the descriptions/settings, but eventually I realized that the series was actually really good. The main character I remember loving was Reyna in Heroes of Olympus. She kept having such bad luck with the guys she liked, so of course I wanted her to just go hook up with one of the cute girls instead. I loved the second series though with the whole Greek vs Roman god images thing. But also his Egyptian series is really good (and there are both crossovers and allusions to the Egyptian storyline taking place in the same universe as the Greek/Roman one). I also need to actually finish his Norse series.
I mean your mom loves me, the Valdezes were almost happier than Marco when we started dating, even Shayera invited me to meet Whippoorwill!

Maybe. Basically the original character concept was just a hacker, but the playbook said to pick a second ability as well. So I asked myself what would be an ability that Kaoru might have but not know about, and power negation jumped out (especially since Kaoru probably hasn't spent a whole lot of time around powered people). So my plan was to have it as an ability that she doesn't know she has and then slowly introduce it over time (which might also help with the inevitable inferiority complex she's going to develop). So...I guess regardless it's probably not something that is immediately going to come up (unless it fulfills some convenient story-purpose). Though I also don't want to step on Alex's gadgetry toes and power nullification gadgets is certainly more concrete. *shrug*
@Kaoru: no worries, you don't have to like all my ideas. ;-)

Sure! Whippoorwill's this world's Batman. She feels it's her job to know everyone in the superhero game. There's a good chance she's teamed up with/fought just about every major hero or villain.

I wish the Egyptian series had had more time to wrap up its story, it felt so rushed towards the end for me. The characters in the Norse series are all really interesting, but I hated the climax of that story. I won't spoil anything, but there was a completely missed golden opportunity for a proper crossover moment, and we got jack.
On a related note, Masks game flavored into the Riordan-verse? Percy's a Nova/Bull, Anabeth a Prodigy with Chiron as her mentor, Grover...maybe a Beacon? Idk. Might be fun for something in the future.
So should we all just start with some intro posts now in Game play, give a glimpse of what our characters are doing for the new people, and the old guard can notice them or brush by them in some way before the big team up?
Gimme a sec to finish writing an intro, but yeah, once I've got that up - take it away!

There isn't really a Superman analog who serves as the real tippy top greatest hero...
Whippoorwill's probably a bit broody and dark past-y to serve in that role, but I think she's the best fit out of the remaining Defenders.
Sounds to me like you've got an excuse to come up with a hero everyone looks up to :-p

I think Haden is who Default initially intended to be the main hero of Halcyon. Though, he hasn't come up much, and I don't know if anyone really took to him.
I deliberately had Wingblade not like him too much, since he seemed too goody-goody to her. No one else had any real reaction to him.
It's up to us to either stick with him or create our own new Number One.
Maybe biggest hero doesn't quite work,.. I'll have to think on it.

As for identities I think the multiple hero marriages make it pretty impossible to hide. I'm thinking the family just moved from Brooklyn so the father could take a history teaching job. Mom (Go) is still internationally active and could serve as a Superman type if anyone is interested in a strong Dominican woman from Brooklyn being a top dog. Missed notifications today but will get something up tonight or tomorrow. Herman is going to be a little Brooklyn snobbish ...the move wasn't his idea and he's pissed.
