Huzzah, I have now caught up to the Bronwyn/Shayera kiss in the archive. Meaning I also got to read the scene Alexandra told Kaoru about earlier with Bran. Now I just need to finish reading the other posts between then and now. And then probably take a break before reading the first 15-20 pages to be completely caught up.

I also read about how the communicators work. Which is important because if Kaoru ever gets one, she's definitely going to try to modify it. Which apparently may or may not incur the nostalgic wrath of Wingblade.

...I blame all of you for the fact I'm, like, 2-3 weeks behind on all my tv shows. :-P

The real question is if Anon noticed that we posted the ending to the discussion-thread side story...

You mean did I make my perception check to notice the link in the post starting things off again? Yes'm, I most certainly did. Though I was unaware that that was the intended ending (this is good to know though as the RSS link kept erroring out for me, so I've just been manually refreshing the page periodically). I'm a little surprised the two of you apparently managed to have uncomplicated dating times for however long passed between it and the return from spring break. Hope you had fun because now things are probably going to be less uncomplicated. :-P

@Wingblade: Thanks for the additional details! Though now I'm starting to wonder what the chances are Kaoru accidentally activates the distress signal while playing around with the device...

I've actually never seen Legends of Korra. I've been told I should, but I haven't seen it on any of the streaming sites I have access to. I was actually referencing this. ;-P

And yeah, there could absolutely be more artifacts and such here - but Kilt's the one who gets to tell us all what showed the team there was something more :-p

Hm...how about this? It looks like a scepter with a head in the shape of an ahnk. Bone Daddy can use it to strengthen his undead, maybe go a little Frankenstein-y and combine some together (triple-headed T-Rex monstrosity anyone?), but it periodically sends out waves of magic that essential act like a giant beacon for anything magical, essentially telling every magical being in a certain radius to come to Halcyon.

I like the beacon-y scepter, but I'm going to lean away from the ankh for now. We're getting Celtic pantheons, the Greco-Roman pantheon, (by inference) the Loa, and we've got some form of the Norse gods floating around too - I'll introduce Egyptian artifacts of power once we've got someone showing up from their pantheon :-p

Fair enough. Don’t wanna end up with too many magic sources, I get it. Maybe it could be a bident of Hades then?

Side note, I feel like I got mixed answers about if I needed to Assess to go get animatronic dino-bots (Seemed like Bran was saying "not in this case but maybe in the future" and Wingblade was saying "Yes"?). Because it seems like now would be a good time to try to cause a distraction, and Cassie bringing statues alive to help fight seems like a suitable memory/idea trigger.

I think Wing was speaking more generally about Assesses rather than the specific Dinosaur suggestion. Assessing does give you a +1 Forward to act on what you've determined though, so that can be pretty useful if you're trying something crazy.

Well guys, it's a good thing Kaoru didn't actually want to join your team 'cause I think she's failing her audition, haha. But...I guess it's appropriate since she's not used to hacking under pressure.

Side note, you can really tell this game is geared for teen drama when possible Beacon drives include things like
- Kiss someone dangerous
- Make out with a teammate
- Punch out a teammate
- Break up with someone

Gimme a few scenes and we’ll see how many of those I can fill out. ;)

Oh, I definitely immediately checked what your drives were when I read those. Seems like it'd be pretty entertaining to watch Shaun try to fulfill the more drama-y ones (but given his whole Monday night shenanigans, I already think he's pretty amusing).

Actually, that reminds me of something I just read in the GM's section on the Beacon: if y'all want ideas of things to do to Kilt, just look at his drives. The book almost explicitly states to use those as the impetus for Beacon-centric scenes. Actually, I really recommend just reading over that section for all the playbooks period, it's really interesting.

Silver Shadow also has access to security camera footage via Kaoru's hack. And Kaoru filled her in on much of the happenings via conference call before she ran off to fail at more hacking.

Oh, though Wingblade should be able to flap out of the T. Rex soon since Herman getting himself a drumstick opened up an Opportunity to escape.

Okay, so I have a question in regards to our Defend pile-on, namely how does this all resolve? Like, Wingblade said she undid my Defend, so do I not gain Influence over Herman then? Do I not take the effect of a Powerful Blow then? I’m a little lost here...

Mainly, I stopped you from taking a powerful blow. You were successful at defending Herman, so that's completed.

My selfish action was essentially undoing any setback that Bone Daddy suffered as a result of your actions. So Herman has been defended, but I think Bone Daddy isn't falling.

It would definitely be interesting to see more of that. With 4 people having had feels for her female persona, I think her male one needs more lovin'.

I'm a fan of love geometry myself, though I often prescribe to the idea of the polyamorous outcome. Any love triangle can be resolved by agreeing to share. I feel like we learn that in kindergarten and forget it by middle school.

*shock face* Dude, I've said that SO MANY TIMES! Like, there's a tv show in which there's a succubus with a male and female love interest. But they CANONICALLY say that the succubus is literally incapable of being monogamous or she'll die. But also somehow her being with both her love interests never comes up? Though there's also a love triangle in one manga where someone does research to figure out how to resolve a love triangle and gets a suggestion to just share. Even though outside of fiction I acknowledge the fact that not everybody is built that way and that not everybody is actually queer.

Remember, you only roll when there's a possibility of failure. Honestly, I'd say you can just take control of the dinosaurs. Otherwise, you could just waste half the battle or more waiting for your dice to finally give you the result you want.

Kaoru, while an Assess roll might not be necessary, I'd love an Unleash roll to 'Reshape the Environment' with your zords. I promise, even on a miss you'll still be able to regain control of them :-p

Sometimes you just say what you do because your character can pretty much do it. An interesting case can be made for when you go against a mugger - seriously speaking, they pose no threat and you can easily deal with them if you're playing someone like Mercy.

Kaoru is just using her technopathy skills to make her own proxy dinosaurs to fight Bone Daddy's dinosaurs. Making them shouldn't need a roll because that's in her skill set. Actively using them to directly engage a threat, defend someone, or otherwise trigger a move does need a roll.

So go ahead and send in the Zords to add to this crazy fight sequence. Though careful, because Mercy might attempt to murder these robots.

I may not have counted correctly, but I don't think we actually had a Team point for Shaun to use to aid Alexis' defend (it may be net-neutral, but you still need a Team in the first place to spend it). Unless we put Herman's defend first, meaning our pool is at 1 after all their actions. Though I was mostly only reading over OOC comments related to Team, so if something added to our Team pool and didn't write an OOC comment, I may be wrong.

Before I post ...with Bone Daddy mostly contained, are his skellies still active?

I think they are. He gave them the order to get the rod, so maybe they're still following that instruction?
