The group goes back out into the main hall and turns North toward the last door that remains unopened in this area.
Grommund quietly checks out the floor doors and walls around the doors and concludes there are no traps here. A long 6 minutes goes by as he is checking Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 vs Dc 12 and the party makes hushed normal conversation but it doesnt appear as if anything has taken notice of that.....
GMMichael
As Grommund and Klor both grab one of the handles and begin to open the doors into the strangely lit room beyond, Tae is the first to spy movement in the fungus, and see the grinning maw oof a Goblin and she shouts Goblins! and the party begins to react...
Grommund's Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8Klor's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17Zarrick's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8Tae's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22Larry's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19Ekan's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11Bugbear's Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19Goblin's Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Party has initiative. Treat all squares with more then 50% coverage in the 'fungus' as hindering terrain for movement and so it costs double to move through.
The room is sized much as the other Arboretum's have been, but this one has toadstools of every shape and size all a pale green, and once more they glow with a strange luminescence. There are two doors out of this Mushroom Farm Room. One to the East and One to the West. The Defenders seem to be arrayed by the double doors to the East with A Bugbear wielding a Scythe behind two rows of Goblins. The First Row is armed with Short Swords; shortbows on their backs, and the second with Short Bows, Short swords on their hips. The Bugbear shouts in

I waited over 3 hours trying not to be first. But I'm about to head to bed and promised I would try to post each day, so . . ..
Readying one of his spears, Larry moves up towards the closer two goblins before trying to impale the one closer to the middle of the line. Larry times the strike perfectly, managing to shove the tip of the spear past the goblin's clavicle and through the center of the rib cage (and chest), having it come out the creatures abdomen and stick into the floor.

Move to H7
Attack Goblin in G7
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Threat confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Crit Damage: 3d8 + 18 ⇒ (8, 5, 5) + 18 = 36 Yeah, the dice are not even needed, the tripled strength adjustment as enough for any two of them!
Crits can always be fun, but on a goblin?
Grommund Geargrip
Grommmund advances through the thick fungus to one of the goblins, then swings his axe angrily. "Thought I told you this was mah house?!" He slips slightly on a mushroom and misses.
Move to G5.
Attack (hatred, flat footed): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9
Klor Kragsson
Klor sees the bugbear before anything else remembering the trouble something like that creature gave him before.
you no good lavy-lickin suckin pests, Time to taste dwarven mettle Klor trudges through the fungus covered room trying to reach his intended target.
double move (since double move cost) to get to G8 I believe that they are flatfooted so no Attacks of Opportunity
Ekan Waterfield
Ekan steps in when he can, and fires a crossbow bolt at the nearest goblin NOT engaged in melee with another member of his party. I should save the magic missile for when the bug bear is closer to death I think.
to hit:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
dmg:1d6 ⇒ 3
The bolt narrowly misses a goblin's head
GMMichael
Larry charges in and shoves his spear through a goblin, pushing his corpse off when he was done.
Grommund moves forward stumbling on the fungus and missing his strike.
Zarrick moved in, Spirit protesting with a flap of his wings of his master entering combat where the owl was vulnerable, and swung his mace almost caving in the skull of the closest Goblin.
Klors moves through the Goblin Line while they are gathering their wits and gets to a position to cause the bowmen to give second thought...
Ekan moves around to the side and fires a bolt at the goblin swordsman out of combat, but has a hard time aiming to avoid hitting Grommund
Tae backs Groomund up and has a clear line to the Bugbear and so unleashes her birthright, an arcane blast. ranged touch to hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 vs AC 11 damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 and the bolt caught him unawares and slammed into him, almost knocking the wind out of him.
Erky moved into the room, pulling his bow as he dropped the spear at his feet and loosed an arrow at The Bugbear leader attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 vs AC 15 and the arrow stuck in the Bugbears foot causing him to howl in pain. damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The Goblins and Bugbear reacted in kind The one Zarrick hit strikes out at the Holy Man attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 vs AC 13 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 nicking the knuckle holding the mace as Zarrick finished his swing.
The Goblin facing Grommund swung at the Dwarf attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 vs AC 17 and only the Dwarfs nimble feet allowed him to escape the attack unscathed.
The Goblin that Ekan had shot at, moved to protect the Warband Leader and attack the Klor attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 vs AC 21 and the sword bounced off the shiled harmlessly.
The two bowmen threatened by Klor dropped their bows and pulled shortswords, not having their shields however made them easier to strike even so....both swung at the Dwarf attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7and neither could penetrate his well armored defense.
The Last Bowman loosed an Arrow at Tae seeing the threat she posed attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 va AC 13 and the arrow skinned her shoulder. damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The Bugbear reacted last moving forward and swinging at Klor with his battle scythe attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 vs Ac 21 crit confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 damage: 8d4 + 12 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 4, 3, 1, 1, 4) + 12 = 32 [ooc]Klor is at -8 Hit Points and bleeding to death having 8 rounds to live[/dice] The Scythe swung over the goblins heads and hit the armor so hard it dented the side of it in, breaking ribs and cutting through leather straps holding plates together. Klor was knocked off his feet and fell to the ground before the grinning Bugbear.

The halfling gulps in shock as he sees Klor go down, in a move of desperation, he runs forward and twists, a burst of color erupts from his hands.
Moving to E4, then twisting so I can catch goblins at e6 and e7 in a Color Spray preferably in away that WON'T catch an ally in the spread of the cone. DC will save negates
Zarrick Deshain
Feeling the cut, much like a parchment cut, Zarrick swings his mace at the goblin again. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 with the goblin down Zarrick yells,Everyone make a wall to keep these creatures back so I can heal Klor!
Larry move to the right one space so I can get to your space. You can block that goblin and someone get to F 7 to keep the goblins at bay. My next action I will stabilize him and then use a clw spell.
Larry_Andoran
Hunh? I thought I HAD posted? I was wondering why nobody had been posting. :frown: My apologies.
Since Zarrick dropped the only goblin within easy reach, Larry moves to the next one in line, stepping up to G8 before taking his blood-slick spear attempting to pierce the goblin standing in F9.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Ekan Waterfield
Also Ekan any reason why you didnt make the saves for the bad guys for the spell so folks would know who to target after the spell? hmmm? ;)
Sorry, I'm still not used to rolling it myself and I wasn't sure how many I'd be able to get in the spray (Not sure about D7) but assuming I at least got E6 and E7
E6 will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
e7 will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
E7 gob is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for
2d4 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
blinded and stunned after that for 1d4 ⇒ 3
One goblin seems to find uncommon willpower to resist the spell, but his peer nearby crumbles in a wash of color.
GMMichael
D7 save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8 vs DC 15 is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 blinded and stunned after that for: 1d4 ⇒ 4 than stunned for 1 round after that A second Goblin falls to floor his senses bombarded to overload.
The Kaleidoscope of color flashing past Grommund, he see's the Goblin in front of him shut his eyes briefly avoiding the flash and he tries to follow up with an axe strike, but this Goblin proves to be too savvy for he nimbly leaped aside.
Zarrick smashes the skull of the Goblin he had wounded before and shouts his intention to heal Klor and for the others to protect him while he does so.
Larry steps up over the recently fallen Goblin, and thrusts his spear ineffectively at the Goblin near the door, still shocked from Klors fall to the Bugbear.
Tae frowns and once more unleashes a blast of eldritch energy trying to thread the needle between the two goblins to the Bugbear beyond Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Ranged touch AC 11+4 damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 her anger so great that the white light erupted over his frame forcing the bugbear back a half a step from the impact. He wavered on his feat. used 3 eldritch bolts now
Erky once again tried to fire an arrow at the larger goblin attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24AC16+4 Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 and the arrow went straight towards the Bugbears left eye, but the Goblinoid ducked at the last minute and the arrow clipped the tip of his left ear off.
Klor breathing shallowly stabilize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 DC 18 and his lifes blood continued to pour from the wound around him. Hes at -9 now. 7 rounds to live
The Bugbear feeling woozy grabbed the door latch and hastily headed down the hall on wavering feet.
The Goblin in front of Grommund attacked attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 vs Ac 17 and Grommund dodged in kind.
The Goblin bowman nest to The Bugbear followed his boss out the door and down the hall.
The last conscious Goblin attacked Larry attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 vs AC 15 but soo bad was his hand shaking in fear that he almost dropped his sword.

cure light wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Ekan Waterfield
"I'll say this for bugbears, they know when they better start running..." Ekan mutters. While finishing off the dazed or confused goblins is probably wise, he also notices Grommund is still having trouble.
Is it too late to grab a dagger, move forward and 'aid another' for Grommund, helping him hit?
Ekan Waterfield
Ekan draws his dagger, and lunges at the goblin now engaged with Grom, but more to throw the creature off.
To hit AC 10 and aid 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Well forget THAT... Geeze, hi Dice, why for you hate us?
And the halfling damn near falls on his face in the attempt.
GMMichael
Grommund continues to fight, his feat slipping on the thick fungus causing him to miss yet again.
Larry's feet also slip on the smashed toadstools and his spear thrust goes over the Goblins head.
Tae moves forward and kneels next to the fallen Klor, placing a hand on the side that took the brunt of the scythe strike, she sends waves of healing energies into the wound, closing it and performing some minor healing on the fallen warrior. His breathing stable she looks up.
Zarrick wades into the thick fungus and has the same problem, slipping on smashed mushrooms
Ekan moves forward and waves his dagger around in the air to draw the Goblins attention, but he laughs at the halfling saying at the funny dancing halfling
Erky steps into the mushroom thick undergrowth and fires an arrow into the Goblin attack: 1d20 ⇒ 3 vs AC 15 but such was his care to avoid hitting his allies the arrow was no where close to the goblin.

The Bugbear and the Goblin fleeing turn the corner and disappear.
The two Goblins laying amid the toadstools stay unconscious

Zarrick takes a wild swing at the Goblin, that swishes through the air. Then he glances over his shoulder for a space to back up into, but see's Erky standing in it...He realizes there is no place to safely pull anything from his pack.
However that point is rendered moot when Grommunds Axe lops the head off the Goblin Zarrick was swiging at, and Zarrick takes the time to pull the Healing potion from his pack then...as Grommund steps over the headless corpse with a grin.
Klor lays stoicly in the fungus. ;)
Larry, getting flustered once more thrusts wildly and the goblin manages to elude being hit.
Tae once more touches Klors injured side and this time wounds heal enough to elicit a groan from Klor as his eyes flutter open.
The Teal Halo around Klor on the map indicates hes Prone
Ekan steps up next to Grommund and plunges his dagger into the body of the fallen goblin.
Erky, moves past Zarrick, taking the potion from the priest and moves next to Klor, leaning down to hand it to him. Klor drinks it down with a gulp, and the potion of cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 but much of the healing draught spilled on his beard, and the healing wasnt as strong as it could be.
The remaining conscious goblin that is in the room, steps away from Larry warily, then turns and runs. withdraw from Larry. Klor doesnt threaten.
Down in the corridor, the injured Bugbear and Goblin leave the combat map....alerting others.
