Background:The Waterfields are at war. There's really no other way to put it. Ekan remembered when it started. How his surving family gathered over the ruins of their village and swore to avenge themselves on the giants that had done this, and to try to keep it from happening to anyone else.

But while numerous, the Waterfields had never been particularly well off. With homes destroyed, cattle seized (that which wasn't just stomped flat) and items of value lost, the Waterfields had only one thing to offer to the cause they'd just pledged.

They had their youth.

Ekan had 3 siblings (Two brothers and 1 sister), and they knew their duty. Each would go out into the world and try to learn some way to fight giants. Ekan found few warriors willing to teach some vagabond Varisian brat for nothing, not even for service. He hoped his siblings and cousins were doing better than he. Then he stumbled onto Sandpoint. He picked a bad time for it, a downpour drove most folks to their home, and the rain was coming down so hard that he went the wrong way actually getting lost in the deluge.

That's how he stumbled upon the House of Blue Stones. It was a peaceful place, but it was also dedicated to Irori, and learning about the Master of Master would show him, eventually, a whole new way to fight. That was a years ago.

Ekan is now a monk but remains a Waterfield. Servants of Irori aren't supposed to hold anger in their hearts, they're supposed to be above vengeance, yet Ekan cannot liberate himself from the wrath he still feels for his family's loss.

Personality: Ekan is a man seeking self control, but while he seems calm for the most part, now and then there are cracks in his cool facade. Most mistake him as being somewhat dull, odd way of fighting aside, but his friends know that he has hidden depths and often enjoy throwing verbal pebbles into his pool of tranquility :)
