Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur crawls down the hole, ignoring the spider carcass at their feet pausing only to make sure there isn't anymore spiders in their area. The internal liquids from the spider making it slightly easier to slide down.
Perception, checking for more spiders 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

"Need any help down there Koldur?" Soren calls down to the dwarf as he slams the trapdoor open completely.

Xara Ozolins |

Xara stays topside, grimacing at the spiders that crawl up. She keeps a look out for reinforcements for their friend.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Koldur of the Axe |

With a grunt Koldur begins to bring all the bodies back up, caling out to Soren.
"Ya. Kill all those damm spiders coming out. We don't need tht spider's spawn becoming that big either. I'm bringing out some bodies. Hopefully we can bury them right. Then I'm likely tunneling. ooof Sorry Oscar."

![]() |

Sable uses his sword to end the spider's spawn. As he waits for them to bring up the bodies.

Koldur will be using a rope to secure the 1st body and after struggling with it up the hole. He'll use the same rope as knotted and lower himself down. lol Else It'll take the above number of rounds to just climb down and I'll take 10. Using other ropes to secure the bodies.

GM Wolf |

Problem for Koldur, with your climb checks by the time you get to the third check you have slammed into the bottom of the vertical shaft. Taking 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 2) = 15 damage from the fall, unless you can succeed at an acrobatics check to negate the last d6 of damage.
If at the edge, likely just Sable and Oscar, a Dex check DC 15 will be high enough to grab the dwarf.

![]() |

Sable sees his friend in distress and tries to grab him before he falls. Though he is not fast enough.
Dex check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Sable follows his friend, though hopefully not as painfully. He also will secure a rope around his waist and the pommel of his horse, and asks, "D please guide the rope as needed."
climb check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 He moves down to the first body.
climb check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 He secures the first body.
climb check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 He falls but only a few feet with the rope securing him.
climb check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 With the aid of being pulled up he climbs up out of the hole.
"Now with the body out of the way, let me down to get Koldur." Assuming he has the aid of his fellows the rope is slowly let down and he goes down to the dwarf.
"How are you doing old friend?" He asks as he nears the dwarf.

Koldur of the Axe |

Acrobatics 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 <--Koldur bounces well.
Loosing his grip and flailing wildly, Koldur makes a faster trip down. Stout, strong and tough like a boulder and thus Koldur falls like one. Bouncing off hard walls and finally landing on his rump hard enough to rattle all his bones. He sits there.
When Sable reaches down to him the old dwarf is still sitting there now puffing a pipe.
"Shaken but not stirred me friend, me bones and me rump be hurting but let me be a while just sitting and a puffing. This old dwarf be needing a little rest." He grimaces as he says this.

![]() |

"Hell we are still both recovering and then you go do that." Sable says and slaps him on his shoulder. "I can tie the bodies to the rope, then we can see about getting us up there as well.."
As he said, Sable secures the two bodies to the rope and calls up to have them hauled up. They wait for the rope to be thrown down to them again. Soon enough with the guidance of the rope the two can get out easily as well.

Koldur of the Axe |

It's obvious that Koldur is bruised and battered but the old dwarf is simply to proud to admit to such hurts. Helping the rest to search the bodies, he has only one recommendation for such a place.
"Burn it all out. They're a menance." wincing as he says this.

![]() |

"Anyone got some oil to burn or something a bit more drastic to get the fire started?" Sable asks as he coils up the rope and secures it to his horse once more.

Xara Ozolins |

"The concern, gentlemen, is that setting fire to this webbing may very well set fire to the whole area. It is fairly wet, however, so we might be able to contain it."

![]() |

"I think the primary concern is the hole. Shall we burn that and look to kill anything that comes out, we can then make small fires we can contain burning anything else we deem necessary." Sable suggests as a plan of attack. He pulls out his blade determining his role in the next of the process.

Koldur of the Axe |

"Whichever works best. I guess." Koldur nods in deference to Xara.
"This area still needs to be cleared so that in future no one else will be ensnared by this spiders."

![]() |

Sable goes to his horse and looks to see what he has for items. Soon he comes back with two pints of oil. He lets them both down different sides of the hole. Flint and steel next he sets them both a lit.
Then he quickly stands up and draws his blade to kill any spider coming out.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur starts killing spiders.

Koldur of the Axe |

"Yes Let's." in full agreement with Oscar.

Xara Ozolins |

Xara is ready to continue explorations.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Sable glad that the spider's hole is burnt and making sure none made it into his armor moves back to his horse. Saddling up he moves off to the North West to begin exploring once more.

GM Wolf |

I won't be able to get to the maps and don't remember what is in the next Hex. I will continue when I get home today. Meanwhile perhaps you will attempt to do the check...
Don't everyone speak up at once, we do need someone to be making the map or at least a reference guide, Sable could be doing it. The group should be working together in making it, but one person, the person with possible the right skills, at least a rank in survival or writing skill.
The group gets on their mounts...

GM Wolf |

Heading into the forest for the next two days, it takes less time to forage but it takes more time to travel so it equals out still to two days.
Xara are you still flying, and thus over the trees, or traveling below with everyone?
As part of the first day Koldur gets a small hair-do done, his hair turns green. How strange.

Koldur of the Axe |

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Koldur doesn't notice his hair going green but considering that the old dwarf seldom looks up. Ambling along as he is, not noticing anything out of the ordinary.

Xara Ozolins |

Xara occasionally flies high, to look for smoke flumes, but spends most of her time with the group.
She's quick to point out the green hair, of course.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Sable laughs at the turning of Koldur's hair, "So where did you get the change, Koldur? Is it possible fey or a sorcerer are involved?" Asking the group if they knew anything.

Oscar Cray the III |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
turning in a certain direction
Bringing the group in the range of his constant detect Evil Oscar will set foot and draw his weapon
Look over there a group of goblins or kobolds are hiding in a patch of large onions or other such vegetables

Xara Ozolins |

Oops! Xara must have been distracted by the green hair.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Xara tries to look in that direction, but doesn't see what Oscar is talking about. "If you say so," she says doubtfully, and readies her spear, following him.

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur tries in vain to get the green off his hair or what remains of it.
"Durn it! How it got there?"
Oscar's comment though catches his attention and his axes appear in his hands immediately.
"Kobolds? Where? Hostile?"

![]() |

"Koldur we will take care of your hair soon enough lets see to these pests..." Sable agrees and draws his racial weapon as he dismounts. He moves towards the patch on Oscar's right side, since he sees them.
D watches the mounts with the other now NPCs. ;)

GM Wolf |

Once the group is within 80 feet of the patch you can see several small humanoid, such as goblin, gnome, or kobold are standing around in the patch.

Xara Ozolins |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Xara follows the others, still mounted on Reafan.
This was a double post. Her original Perception check was a 14.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Sable stays next to the Paladin, he whispers to him, "I see them now, the five kobolds, be wary to not attack the onions. Should we announce ourselves once closer, they are just kobolds." Sable knows better and offers Oscar a supporting to his lawful if not good side.

Oscar Cray the III |

They can surrender peacefully and no harm will be done to them and judgment can be pass on them
Oscar once again moving closer
Kobolds i can see you in the Onions. This will be you only chance to lay down any weapon and Surrender he simply says

Xara Ozolins |

"Oscar, let me,"Xara says, stepping forward with her arms raised. She begins speaking a harsh language.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

GM Wolf |

The kobolds stir as you advance towards them. The guard wakes up and quickly points his spear in the direction of movement.
The other kobolds draw their weapons as they slowly get up. Though as they look to one of the kobolds they all lower their weapons at the kobold with the red hat signals for them to do such.

Xara Ozolins |

Xara translates for the others, waiting for their input before responding.
