Xara Ozolins |

Xara calls out taunts to the mite southeast of Oscar, using Antagonize (Diplomacy) to impose a -2 penalty to its attack rolls against any opponent except her. She calls out her taunts in Common and Draconic (next level, she needs to put a rank into Linguistics to get Sylvan).
Diplomacy Antagonize: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
The eagle assaults the mite next to it.
Hover: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Talon 1: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Talon 2: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
Bite: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4
These attacks do not bypass DR, as the smite evil is expended.

Round 3
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 vs Shaken
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 vs Shaken
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 vs Shaken
Oscar will 5ft step toward next target and continue his concentration of Detect Evil (round 3 of 3)
PA Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 1 = 132d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 6) + 9 = 21

Koldur of the Axe |

Will save vs DC 10 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Koldur's answer is a loud "Hmprh!" and a few other grunts as he lashes out with his weapons back and forth scattering or fouling attacks as they come.
Moon's Edge 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Dwarven Maulaxe 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Working his axes for a twin swings against the mite on a tick.

GM Wolf |

Round 3
The mites attacks are easily deflected by your armor. Xara got attacked by one, Eagle by two, and Koldur by one. You can tell from their disorganized tactics they are likely weaker than the kobolds.
Round 4
Heroes go!

Koldur of the Axe |

Swinging at the mites around Koldur. 5 foot step as necessary. Any other mites can come to me.
The odds didn't look good but this wasn't going to faze him. His axes rise and swing, his body following his movements as he dances across attacks and foes, his axes opening a path for him.
Moon's Edge 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 221d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Dwarven Maul axe 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Confirm Crit Dwarven Maul axe 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 62d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9

GM Wolf |

Round 4
As Oscar moves to strike the large insectoid and one of the Mites gets a strike between his plates of armor, 1d31 ⇒ 1.
AoO, giant tick, bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 plus grab and disease
Oscar's greatsword bites deep into the tick and blood bursts from the wound, it squeals in pain.
Koldur cuts down on one of the Mites his first hit making a small wound as the other appears to have no effect. The Mite smiles devilishly at Koldur cursing him in Sylvan.
Waiting on Xara.

Xara Ozolins |

As the mite she antagonized charges her, she gets an AoO on it.
Xara AoO: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
This round, Xara takes a 5-foot step NW, concentrates, and creates an aura of protection. All allies within 20-feet of Xara (I think all of them that are currently fighting) get a +2 deflection bonus to AC and CMD for the next two rounds).
She uses her move action to "handle" Reafan, commanding him to fly over and fight.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 2 = 21
Reafan charges the yellow mite.
Charging bite: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The celestial eagle attacks the purple mite.
Hover: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Fail.
Unable to hover and use its talons, the eagle bites at the mite.
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

GM Wolf |

I was wondering if you, Xara, get an AoO from the taunt? Otherwise the mite came at you not beside you.
Both of the birds hit their targets with their beaks but not enough damage is done to take them down.
The mites swing and hit armor and bodies but none of their blows make any damage. The giant tick turns on the Paladin and tries to grab him, though the paladin dodges the bite.
giant tick, bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 plus grab and disease
As more mites enter the fray!
Round 5
Heroes go!

Xara Ozolins |

Only an AoO because she has a reach weapon, nothing to do with the taunting itself. And I went with the Diplomacy version, which doesn't compel the target to attack her, just makes it worse at attacking anybody else.
Xara stabs at the tick with her longspear.
Spear: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Reafan attempts to hover.
Hover: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 The giant raven then brings all its attacks to bear against the yellow mite.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Talon 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Talon 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Miss
Finally, the celestial eagle attempts to hover and attack the purple mite.
Hover: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Talon 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Talon 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Miss

Koldur of the Axe |

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Moon's edge 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Dwarven Maul axe 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
His axes sing as they twirl, slash and push against his foes, Koldur cannot help but notice something strange and his years of fighting tells him it cannot be good. His axes swing widely giving him berth and time to call to his allies over the din of combat, despite dealing little or not wounds this time as his purpose was to give himself breathing room.
"Blood!!!! Something's wrong with their blood!!! It's all heading towards the tree!"

Oscar Cray the III |

Round 5
PA Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 1 + 2 = 282d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 1) + 9 = 16
Crit Conf PA Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 1 + 2 = 182d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16
Some weird effect or is it something else? he says putting the hurt on the creature

GM Wolf |

For example: Oscar strikes at blue mite with his greatsword.
A better example: Oscar takes his greatsword in both hands and with an over head chop brings the mighty sword down upon the small blue creature.
Then there are other descriptive words you could use: It has been several rounds of swinging his heavy blade, he can feel the sweat build on his brow and on his body through the exertions he is forcing himself through. Bringing the blade around his body from the last strike he brings it up over his body and crashing down upon the little blue man. Staying alert he looks around him to see how his allies are faring against the fey and their allies.
AoO because of a Spear attack make sure that you write in spear attack as opposed to Xara's attack. Though, with your multiple summons and mount attacking as well Perhaps the best choice is Xara's spear attack. You could also have reach in there or explain how she strikes the mite with her spear before it becomes adjacent to her.
Someone could do a check into the nature of the fey, K Nature check. If you already did this please tell me what was your resulting check.
Xara's attack goes wide as she focuses more so on defending herself. The yellow and pink mite is destroyed by the giant crow. Just as the eagle does the same to the purple and blue mite. (Please put a red X over them.)
Koldur puts the pain on the closest mite, making him fall as his other blow scratches the next closest mite making it fall as well. Oscar strikes the tick for a greater blow than before, slicing off two legs. It falls into the pool of its own blood as it screams in its death throes. The mite is flung from it back giving Oscar an AoO as it lands beside him. ( add another mite beside Oscar.) The mites last four legs sprawl and hit friend and foe alike, hitting Koldur for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 as the other legs fall feebly from the mites and Oscar alike.

Oscar Cray the III |

Round 6
Having defeated the large Tick Oscar turns his attack on the group of mite surrounding him.
PA Great Sword: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 1 = 92d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 3) + 9 = 18 but the previous blow struck with so much power behind it that is left oscar a little bit off balance and that was enough for him to miss his intended target

Koldur of the Axe |

A slight raise of his axe deflects a blow, a slight shift in his stance avoids another two. Raising Moon's Edge, Koldur brings it down in a sideswing using its momentum to propel him straight into the mob alongside Oscar!
He hated to admit it but the flailing of the giant tick hurt as he was avoiding yet another blow when it struck out.
Moon's Edge 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 201d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Single attack then moving next to Oscar.

GM Wolf |

Round 6
Koldur takes down one more mite as they retaliate. Maroon strikes Oscar breaking his short spear upon his armor.
The last mite attacking the raven hits well and cuts the birds wing, 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.
The eagle is cut down from its position from the swarm of mites around it.
Round 7
Heroes Go!

Koldur of the Axe |

Now with Oscar, Koldur's dance takes a decided more agressive stance as this time his axes go into low swings and criss-crosses forcing his foes to back up or be slashes by quick swinging axes shortened in reach but no less devastating.
Moon's Edge 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dwarven Maulaxe 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 221d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Round 7
Sable gets up as the healer feeds him a potion. He slowly approaches the Raven with sword in both hands. He speaks quietly to Xara, "Get your raven out of there before it is hurt, just get behind me and this should be dealt with quickly enough."
Round 8
He moves with pain obviously on his body, he moves so that the mites don't get an advantage and where he can cleave, he takes that action hoping to take down two with one strike. He has seen the ill effect the steel weapons have had on the fey and puts more power into his swing, bringing it across two of the little blue humanoids, only cutting the first in half.
Elven Courtblade: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 1 = 19 with PA

Koldur of the Axe |

"Don't strain yeself Elfie! Meself and Oscar here are more than enough!" Koldur calls out as he sees Sable joining in the battle.

![]() |

"Get over here then and protect her." He says with an upset tone.

Koldur of the Axe |

"Aye. In acknowledgement to Oscar, Koldur gives a loud bellow and rushes towards Sable. on his turn.
"Bwah Ha Ha Ha. Not getting Soft are you Sable? You could take them all out with a dagger!" A swinging axe puncates his statement.
Moon's Edge 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Xara Ozolins |

Xara sends Reafan to the air and away from the surrounding mites. She herself summons another celestial eagle to defend her.
[ooc]Not quite sure where these mites are, as the map doesn't look quite up-to-date, but it sounds like there are a lot and they are close.

GM Wolf |

Round 8
With Mites falling left and right, only one is still attacking Oscar, Sable, and Kodur each. The slaughter should be over soon.
Finally the Mites land blows when their numbers are almost nill. Oscar gets hit with a devestating slice from an improvised medium dagger, crit confirmed hit: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10, as Koldur gets hit by a small trident, 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.
Mobile right now, you can call them what color you want just 3 left.

The celestial eagle bites and slashes the creature. If it's still up, Xara summons another eagle, flanking with the first.
Hover: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

A flurry of golden beaks and talons tear into the creature.

GM Wolf |

Round 9
Sable stays as a defensive wall allowing Xara to attack if she wishes. The eagles slash one of the mites into pieces as Oscar and Koldur miss their targets.
Both mites are in a bloodied frenzy and keep attacking missing with each of their strikes, slamming their weapons on the armored bodies before them.

The eagles move into flanking positions.
Hover eagle 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Hover eagle 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Assuming those were only 5-foot flaps, they both full attack, although eagle 2 isn't able to stay air-borne, and so only gets its bite.
Eagle 1 bite: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9

3 damage total, after DR.
Xara herself stays out of it, allowing her celestial summons to fight for her.

![]() |

He steps away since the others have the battle easily in hand now. He follows the blood looking for a cause of it or why it is trailing to the tree.
"Shall I go back in and see where this blood is traveling to?" He asks knowing that not many threats are within.

Koldur of the Axe |

"Best I go with you if I can squeeze in. No telling what this tree wants with all that blood." Koldur remarks, a frown on his face.

Koldur of the Axe |

A breastplate has a few straps and Koldur makes short work at that as he releases those very straps, to follow Sable.

Xara Ozolins |

Xara grimaces, but consents to remove her armour, stoop low, and crawl into the hole after the boys.

GM Wolf |

The three of you follow Sable into the tight quarters of the mite lair under the sycamore tree. In each room you can see debris. Following the blood it leads to the second floor room.
The wet-looking floor of this cavern is crisscrossed by several shallow trenches, each containing trickles of putrid looking fluid. Six foul mounds of compost and dung lie heaped about the room, each studded with small spherical eggs. The blood dissipates into the wet floor. Out of the wall looks like a small blue mite arm extends.

![]() |

"We did not take much time to look through the piles of the mites, you might have a more discerning eye than mine and since we will have plenty of time on the return trip if you want we can take our time." Sable says in the tight rooms and tunnels.
Once in the cavern that they can actually stand up in, "Shall we cut out the walls and look for mites?"

Koldur of the Axe |

Koldur nods and begins swinging his own axes, first to gauge how much space he had in swinging his favored weapons.
