I have a replacement for Saris, Ehawee's weapon, in the works, and should be able to slot them in soon.

I'm only posting this in games I'm running, because I'd hope to have most of the same people I'm already GMing for participate -- would anyone prospectively be interested in an Al-Qadim sort of game with build rules in the same ball park as what I usually propose? I wouldn't start it for another month or so, I just have this hankering itch to use my pile of Al-Qadim stuff, even just for a 1-off.

OOoh, I could possibly be interested! Al-Qadim was one of the those settings that fascinated me when I was a little monkey, prior to actually getting into tabletop gaming.


I need to think about what I'd do, I'll see who else responds and also field suggestions.

One thing I'm thinking about -- I'm honestly not sure this Dark Sun game is going to end up using Legacy of Fire that much -- I'm more thinking of some urban adventuring in Tyr after finishing this piece in the Kalidnay ruins, and I already have some cool maps/areas developed for an 'against the Slave Lords' homage with some Lovecraftian terrors thrown into the mix.

So I might change the title of this one to just 'Dark Sun campaign', and think of some kind of interesting permutation of Legacy of Fire. I'm not really sure yet.

I have a huge pile of Al-Qadim stuff I purchased in the 1990s I might try to use somehow.

Well i would love to go through legacy of fire here, but the group here is also pretty cool and i'm open to a lot of things, as long as rp runs smooth and is fun.
And like i said in the Numenera game, i'm interested, but have to see i don't get into too many games, since it might hurt my posting rate at some point.
I'm all for long running consistent games somehow, where you can have long and lots of fun with the characters.

Posting this in all my RP groups

I haven’t forgotten or quit. But our country is having an energy management crisis, where our electricity provider implements “loadshedding” throughout the day. Meaning at certain times we sit without power for over two ours. Currently they do this 3 times a day. And this really messes with my role-play at this point in time. Once they settle this I’ll be able to post more often. It really is frustrating

As far as I can tell, it's simply "do these writings and depictions matter at all for interaction, or should we just swiftly move through the next door. As soon as the knowledge distribution subsides, I'm happy to move us into the next trap room :P

Amunet-Ra as well as Jimbli have the Trap Spotter Rogue Talent, giving them an automatic check if they come within 10 feet of a trap.
So i guess that should not be an issue.
Of course attentive party members could catch one or both of them being unattentive and take a look for themselves ;)

However, the next 'level up' experience is going to be quite a bit more complicated, so I'm going to go ahead and give you the parameters to think about so you can start preparing your updates, and we won't have to stop for a month for people to rebuild. You can slowly start working on it.

Levels:

1 additional mythic tier.

In addition, you have 3 choices:

(1) Gestalt the class features of a multi-class archetype to both sides of your gestalt.

OR

(2) Get another 1 gestalt levels.

OR

(3) You can choose a template or templates adding up to CR 10

Feats:

6 mythic feats
36 regular feats

I uh, I think that might uh, be a little much there on the templates and feats.

Is there a particular reason you wanna toss such a massive power boost at us all at once?? As opposed to gradually over the next few level ups??


The templates are only one of 3 different options -- it's not stacked on top of the other two.

There will be an in-game explanation.

Yeah, but it is on top of mythic, and there's some incredibly powerful 3PP templates out there which can greatly throw things out of whack.

Also, much like spontaneous casters, one of the limiting factors of the marital classes from Path of War is small(ish) number of maneuvers they know.

With 36 feats suddenly available to me, that balance is going to be upset, by a fair amount.

Same with any 'spells/powers/etc known' classes, as they all have feats that can be taken more than once to gain more 'x' known.

Now, don't get me wrong, I realize we're still limited, somewhat, via action economy, but I'm not sure adding this much power all at once is going to be a good idea, especially considering how much we're already capable of.

Is it up to +10 CR worth of templates or up to +3 worth of templates to get us from CR 7 to CR 10?

Either way, the templates is the much better option, by far as the right templates on the right build can vastly increase the power of a particular PC.

At the very least, I would increase the normal levels gained for the other two options. Otherwise, there's not really much reason to pick them.

Sorry to say Sebecloki, i share Hamzas worry about the templates there.

+5CR in templates is the far superior choice and would bring some stuff neither mythic nor anything else can.

I think should leave out option 3, just take the normal and mythic level with option 1 and 2, and probably a bit less feats.
6 mytic feats might be fine, although super strong already, but 6 or so normal feats should suffice i think.
3 mythic feats would probably be enough as well.

That level-up list does sound *way* excessive. That's a massive number of feats, and the template option is far too over-the-top. Even if I do want to make Ri'Kli'Klek into a bug-monster. XD It also just plain seems too soon for us to be leveling up.

It’s kind of hard to judge in typical terms. We’re already a little overpowered, but I can see Seb wants to throw rough foes at us. Maybe he’s ratcheting that up too? *shrug*
