I think our next move will depend on what we learn from the captured bandits. Depending on what they tell us about the Stag Lord, we may either choose to move directly against him, or come up with some other plan to reduce his strength.

Either way, I think we'll be wanting to explore the hex into which the tracks lead, no? Maybe even heading out during the second half of Day 1 so as to make the most of our element of surprise.

There is information to be had, though there is a distinction between what you might get from the leader of the bandits and one of the rank and file. I'm just waiting for a clear plan of how you're communicating with the bandits and if you try to save any of them.

Going to have to catch up on the hexploration rules, but overall, even without looking too deeply into that, I think Emil would be focused on the removal of the Stag Lord as a thing in the area. He did give his word after all.

One thing I would like the group to work on is “proactive posting.” That is, adding OOC comments or spoilers of “I’m not sure if I can do this yet, but here’s what I’m going to do”, or "I'm leaving options open to the group, but here are things that I am or am not willing to do", reducing the feedback loop between a prompt and discussion. I'm not picking on anyone, (it's certainly a skill I'm still trying to learn how to best do) but a few examples:

Anwyay, something to keep in mind trying to move the game forward a bit more :) I'm making a mental note myself to always explicitly state my Assist in a Diplomacy roll; in a different PbP game I'm playing in, apparently the GM was waiting around for my assist when I figured that it wasn't needed after a 30 Diplomacy check was made ;) Oops.

Side note, the Loot page is (currently?) editable to allow people to claim stuff, or note stuff that you want to sell. What we'll probably do is have a mass sell-off of stuff when the group returns to town of anything that isn't claimed, unless you have a different way you want to handle things.

I'm looking over the hexploration map and I'm confused. I know there's a post explaining what stands for what, but I cannot find it. Should I assume that the sun is where we are?

Also: If we've sold off whatever remains of the loot, someone should update the loot list. I'd volunteer, but I've been doing it for my IRL groups so long, I'd like to take a break.

I have updated the loot list. I added the Stag Lord amulet and alchemist's fires to my own equipment sheet, and claimed four horses for the party for use as pack horses. Everything else I sold for half price. (Is that OK, Wolfspirit?) If the sale of everything works out, that is more than enough to cover the cost of the 44 provisions we needed.

Our current party fund consists of 209 gp, 5 sp and 68 provisions.

It's one of the things I wish we had more time for - inter-PC rp. Audsley is no doubt terribly intimidated and fascinated both by Turante, but we haven't yet had the space to develop that relationship. Hopefully that will come through in time!

As for what we should do next: I think we should take the opportunity to explore this hex, since we're here now. After that, Franka would argue (vehemently) for following the mite tracks, exploring as they go.

I could have sworn I mentioned it, but I just wanted to be explicitly clear the camp features a natural ford for the river, so you can use it to Explore and Travel through the current hex without requiring Swim checks.

If you do decide to Explore the hex you're currently in, you can do it in a half day (I'll abstract that it took part of the day to find the camp that can be rolled into the Exploration.)

Likely, yes. I'm playing a bit fast and loose with the abstraction in a few places so that they make sense. On the other hand, you guys are flying through things, timeline-wise (making a bum-rush to the Thorn River camp does that...) so a few "breaks" may be in order ;)

I don't think there's an urgent reason for following the trail, before exploring the current hex. The Mite trail is already pretty cold, half a day more shouldn't matter.

Just a question, GM: How does travel between hexes of different terrain work? If we move to the Outpost, that's going from a Forest tile to a Plains tile. Will this take 3 hours, or 5 hours (at movement speed 50), or maybe something in between?

If it's the first (3 hours), we could double that to 6 hours by foraging, to reach the Outpost in a day. That will allow us to bring home some fresh food as a gift for Oleg and Svetlana, while also filling out provisions stash a bit without having to pay gold.

I've done some housekeeping on the Loot List.
- Sold everything that we didn't need.
- Added the 600 gp reward.
- Converted the reward from Svetlana (250 gp) into free provisions.
- Bought an additional 38 provisions. What we have now will last us 6 days.

What we're left with is slightly over 1667 gp. I suggest we pay out 200 gp to everyone, leaving the party with 267 gp. If anyone would like to upgrade to a MW weapon or such, my share is available. I don't need a lot of gear yet, would prefer the martials to upgrade first.

Also, we have two Thunderstones and one Potion of CLW up for grabs. Please claim them. :)

If you're going to take Identify, Janna, I'll probably swap that one over for something else. Would be a waste to have overlap already.

A note: The spells I know/spells per day will likely never increase. I could get something bard-specific, I suppose?

Also, since a longbow replaced it from party loot, you can kick 15 more gold into the pot from the shortbow I'll sell off.
