What sort of adventure did ya have in mind?

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I dunno. I could dig up a short premade adventure or make something up.
KC, are there any side quests I could run from the AP?

Cuetzpalli |

Just checking in. Been busy myself so I haven't really noticed the lack of posts. But I could play a one-off if that's what everyone wants to do.

Kobold Catgirl |

Well, one that comes to mind is the mystery of the burnt down Kordian shrine. It's pretty well removed from the rest of the storyline, so it'd make good sidequest fodder. I could send you the info. I don't mind you thinking up your own adventure, of course (or just using a premade).
I'll get back to posting tomorrow morning—the next round should be up by about 9:00 am PST.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Well Tanith would definitely like to be a part of that one. =P
If you're not too busy or stressed I don't mind just chugging along at a slower pace until you're done with your trip. Would me running things for a bit help you out?

I'm thinking of dipping into inquisitor or temple raider of Olidammara sometime before 10th level. The first would finally get us cheap alignment detection, give Astraden more skill ranks to fiddle with, give her a chance to pick up Luck, and has a few other benefits, but it would take two levels away from cleric to get what I want. Temple raider is really only good for stealing one of Farrukh's niches and the Reflex save, but it has "Olidammara" in the name so I have been thinking about it.
Maybe when KC has some time he can write up a PF conversion for the TRoO. I'd really like an option for it to just add to an existing divine spellcasting progression if you already have one, and given that its skill and SA options are twice as weak as even the normal rogue's, they might merit a boost as well.

Cuetzpalli |

I wish the ACG had been out when we started. But I'm so close to 7th level now it doesn't matter. The feat undersized mount would have been really nice thus far.

Carina Viera |

Would I be able to make a Heal check to diagnose what the cat is suffering from and know how to fix it?

![]() |

Correct. They're heading for the eggs, but haven't made it in yet.
Eben moves forward, grabbing up two of the large eggs. Green worms fall off the eggs as he grabs them (one of them trying to grab onto his shirt collar). He quickly fires another explosive firework, blasting said worms into oblivion.
Astraden:Knowledge addendum.
These kyuss worms, while in a younger, stunted stage of growth, should share their normal kin's weaknesses. Astraden knows that a remove curse or remove disease would likely be sufficient to wipe out this infestation. Silver (or silversheen) instantly slays kyuss worms. The green-brown paste produced by incinerating kyuss worms could serve as a valuable component in creating special substances that can kill the worms, though the paste outside the egg has been rendered useless by the water.
The worms seem to die shortly after falling, and they appear to be virtually immobile.
Farrukh steps forth and lunges (Lunges, with a capital L, that is), hacking into the spawn of Kyuss with one strong blow. He knocks it prone, but misses on the following attacks due to the difficulty in reaching it.
Astraden (on Knowledge: Religion check):On the matter of the worms, Astraden can guess a few tricks on stopping them:
When inside a victim, the worm can be destroyed by remove curse or remove disease (or spells that duplicate these effects); dispel evil or neutralize poison delays its progress for 10d6 minutes. These spells affect multiple worms within the same victim. The spawn of Kyuss themselves are extremely obscure, but they weren't always. They originated hundreds of years ago—perhaps thousands, even. Now, they're becoming numerous again, but good lore is hard to find.
However, back during her days as a bandit, Astraden recalls she and the gang once happened upon an ancient burial site dedicated to Obad-Hai. A particular verse inscribed on a simple stone tombstone caught her eye. Now, knowing what she does, it takes on new meaning.
"Strangest fear, worms are near.
Rip and rend, watch wounds mend.
Draw your bow, touch no foe.
Got no silver, it's all over."
I'm pretty confused.

+1 returning trident is kinda cool. Might switch out my greataxe for that. Then I could have the option of a shield again, and could also sell my bow....
What do you guys think?

Carina Viera |

I really should invest in some way of boosting my Will saves...

Carina Viera |

Still... geez, now I'm afraid he'll come back as a Kyuss-spawn.
And I kinda liked him, despite him being... well, Kullen.

Carina Viera |

Now I'm wondering--is there a magic item that'll make someone immune to fear effects?

Carina Viera |

Ouch.
I guess I'll have to settle for items that boost saves for now...

Carina Viera |

Perhaps...
But I'm a bit concerned that a paladin cohort might cause some problems for us. I mean, not all of us hold law and goodness in high regard.

Carina Viera |

Anyway, I'm waiting to see if Astraden's channeling was enough to kill one of the spawn flanking Kullen. I'll try to cut it out of him once the way is clear.

Carina Viera |

Really?
Geez... I don't think Kord will be very happy about this.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Tanith has a remove fear and standard action this time!

Carina Viera |

I think the principle of the thing still applies, though. Oh well.

Cuetzpalli |

Thanks, Tanith!

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I would have cast it first round but I thought it was a touch range spell for some reason.

Carina Viera |

Astraden, I just noticed your statline has 'Cleric 5' instead of 'Cleric 6'.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

I'm thinking we should pool some coin to equip Astraden with a rallying shield.

Carina Viera |

Yep, sounds like a good investment.

DankeSean RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4 |

I agree on the shield (assuming Astraden doesn't have other plans.)
Also, like I said before, a wand of remove disease might be a really good idea (not for actual disease removal purposes, because it would have a crappy CL and almost never work, but just for those occasions when someone might have more worms in his system at once than Carina can be expected to handle.)
And how are we on CLW wands? Astraden mentioned hers was getting low, Eben's only has a few charges- do we have more in reserve or should we allocate some group funds towards a new one of those as well?

Eben MacTeague |

Oh, and KC... I've been reconsidering what I might want for my level 7 feat. Would it be kosher with you to use the 3.5 feat Requiem from Libris Mortis? (Refresher if you don't recall: basically allows bards to use mind-affecting performances vs. undead) There's not really any kind of official PF equivalent yet.

DankeSean RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4 |

Not really, but that's mainly because the dirge bard is flawed. For some reason the one thing the DB doesn't do is make dirge of doom and other 'negative' performances affect undead. (Or positive ones, for that matter, for parties with bountiful undead minions.) Spells? Yes, sure. A bard's most iconic abilities? Nope.
