All right, so here's what I'm thinking--you'll play a native of the Mwangi (perhaps one of the more civilized locations within it) who has decided to try uniting some of the various tribes to stop raiding each other and get along...

...and we'll see where it goes from there. ;) For character creation, I'm thinking level 5, Automatic Bonus Progression, Background Skills, and standard starting gold (with the modification for ABP). Sound good?

1. Do you have places/tribes picked out? If not, do you have some on a black list you don't want me to pick from?

2. That all looks good to me. Any restrictions on race or class (asking the guy who wants to play a raven seems bit foolish, but thought I would).

3. I assume you will like if I put hooks and stuff in my background for you to use?

4. Will I get my own 'dedicated' NPC sidekick like you have Paq? Or will it be more like Hyo Soon, temporary NPCs for various missions?

5. I assume an early 'villain' will be the Aspis Consortium?

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

1) Not yet. I'm open to suggestions.

2) Nope. :D

3) Definitely

4) I'm thinking you'll have opportunities to gain either one, depending on what kind of impression you make on people.

Excellent. I'll go look through my Mwangi book and see what jumps out at me. I had a group game I tried and failed (three times, three different groups) to run here, and the area really captured my imagination.

Thanks so much for doing this!

Would you open to gestalt? Just thinking about it.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Yep! I'd certainly be open to it. It makes things easier on my end in a lot of ways. :D

I have a really good character fluff wise that i like, just struggling with mechanics. I'll have something soon.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Sounds good! I'm kind of waiting on the fluff to finish the details of the campaign start.

I know they are usually banned but would you allow a non-gestalt Synthesisist Summoner? I promise not to good too stupid broken with it, but I wanted to check with you first.

If not, I have other ideas (the current front runner is a Magus).

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

I enjoy Summoners! In a solo game, being stronger just means I can throw nastier monsters at you. :D So go ahead!

Still working on it. This one has been tough to nail down but I want to get it right.

Thinking rogue now.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

No problem, just let me know when you've got it nailed down. :D

Do you want the fluff separately? I have that pretty much done. You can use it to flesh out the game, which I'm sure you want to do.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Yes, please!

So here is what I have planned out. Character doesn't have a name yet. I do names last.

Character is a male half-elf in the Ekujae tribe, a tribe of wild elves. They are a war-like and divided people, those who resists the encroachment of the Aspis and other outside forces the most. Wiki Link

He was born a twin and the tribe was very disappointed at two half-elves, so they forced his parents to give his sister away to a human community. He grows up as a member of the tribe and as an young man, he learns of his lost sister. Enraged at the tribal elders, he sets off alone to find her.

He is captured by Aspis agents and taken as a slave. He is sold down the river to Bloodcove. There he is bought by a Chelish nobleman, and is taken to Avistan. He learns much during this cruel time, and unlike most Mwgani Expanse dwellers realizes the sheer extant and power of the various Inner Sea invaders.

While he is there, he falls into the faith of Erastil. LINK. The focus on community, protection and nature appeals greatly. he begins to see they need to unite and temporarily put aside tribal differences and even racial ones. While he plans to start with the Ekuje, he has grand plans of uniting all the various cities and groups in the Expanse.

So he manages to escape and get back to the Expanse just in time to find that his home tribe has burned the Aspis Nightfall Station to the ground. While they deem this a great success, my character knows it will take more then jungle raids to solve this problem.

His plan is met with derision by the elves however, who view it as impossible. So he goes out alone, hoping to prove them wrong and unite a grand alliance.

That is the bare bones. Sound ok?

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Sounds good! I can certainly work with that.

Is there anything else you want in there? Where do you want me to focus detail?

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

More detail on his relationship with his tribe/people in his tribe would be helpful, as would more detail on how he plans to form this alliance--who he plans to contact first, how he'll approach them in general, and so forth.

I will answer the latter first.

He plans in concentric circles.

First he will approach the other Ekujae tribes and see how they feel about alliance. He suspects while they will be in favor of attacking the Aspis and other outsiders, they will not be big on uniting. So he wants to gain trust among them (while being open about his intentions) until they are comfortable.

Assuming that goes well, he will go the next circle, being any other elven tribes. It is a natural next step and his progress will be the same with the advantage of pointing out the success the Ekujae have made so far. Proving they are worthy allies and that the Ekujae can help with their own tribal problems (such as those giant evil apes or whatever).

Next and last is to approach the cities looking for allies. This will be the most difficult but he will change tactics based on the city. If the city is trade based, he will talk about how much safer transit will be. If it is religion, how much easier it will be for pilgrims.

Make sense?

Edit: I am excited for this game, just still having a mental block about the build for this one. I've tried everything from cavlier to rogue. I'll get it!

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Yep, makes sense! That means I'll need to work on the Ekujae tribes first. Good to know.

Going with ranger. Not sure if archetype but probably this one- [ulr]http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/ranger/archetypes/paizo-ranger -archetypes/fortune-finder-ranger-archetype/]Fortune Finder[/url]. Gets rid of animal companion but adds a sweet Social skill increase. What do you think? Despite the character's important faith, I didn't go with a divine class.

Sorry taking so long, hanging out with my wife this weekend!

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

No problem! And yes, that archetype would be fine if you choose to go with it.

Adaptable Study (Ex)
In addition to this, the fortune-finder can study an opponent he can see as a move action. He then gains a bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, as well as on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The bonus is equal to half the fortune-seeker’s highest favored enemy bonus. A fortune-finder can’t attempt Knowledge checks untrained to identify an opponent he has studied with adaptable study. Bonuses from adaptable study don’t stack with those from the favored enemy ability. The ranger can study only a single target at a time.

A giant chameleon, hm? Neat! :D

Looks pretty good to me.

Is the chameleon too much? I debated it but I had a pile of extra gold and it seemed really cool.

Ok, so need anything else from me?

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Yes, the chameleon is perfectly fine. It should be fun to have around. :D

Anything else... any NPC's you'd like to have connections with? I can create everything myself if needed, but if there's someone in particular you think Kabede should have a relationship with, make sure to tell me.

I would think his relationship with his parents would be rocky. I mean he left against their wishes and then came back as a radical with some crazy ideas.

Hmm, I didn't picture him having many local connections. He has been gone a long time. It might be neat to have him have a childhood friend in he tribe but now they are rivals once he came back? Not sure if that fits into the story you have planned, but might be a neat way to show off Kabede's unique mindset.

Otherwise, I am ready and willing to start whenever you are.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

All right, the last question then is, where do you want to start? With Kabede getting back to his tribe and being rejected? Right after that?

That would be fine. I was imaging more of a soft rejection then a straight up exile but whatever you have in mind. I'd like to at least know some of the other tribes I could approach, give me a direction.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

I'm thinking I'll make kind of a 'political map' of the area, so to speak... I should probably have that ready before we start.

Makes sense to me.

Anyway you can open a gameplay thread for me to dot?

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Okay, made a gameplay thread. Now I just need to have time to sit down and make this political map. XD

I look forward to it!

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

So, I think you deserve an explanation. I've been realizing recently that visiting the Paizo forums has been feeling less and less like fun and more like a chore, which has forced me to realize I've probably spread myself too thin and gotten somewhat burned out on PbP games.

This is why I haven't posted much lately in my games with you--they're the ones that I can put on hiatus easily, since there aren't any strangers waiting on me to post. But I should have told you that's what's going on. I don't know how long it's going to take me to feel up to more games again--I think I'm starting to feel better about things, but I'm not sure. I'll let you know.

I'm obviously not shocked, it has been awhile since you posted. However, I think you deserve a break, just being married and all!

Take all the time you need, as you said, there is no one else left hanging (much less pressure).

Not to pry, but are you thinking days, weeks, months? Entering a monastery for several years? Should I figure on not starting this game for quite awhile? I only ask so I can anticipate my upcoming game schedule. Again, take all the time you need. Sevak is at a very good stopping point.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

I'm guessing a month? At the least things at work should have eased up by then, which will help.

So I assume this is a no-go? If so, please mark inactive.

Male Shapeshifting Griffon RoW maps Technomancer 20

Yeah... unfortunately I just can't seem to find the energy/inspiration for GMing something original right now.
