You think it is a rare occurrence known as a haunt. They are the result of violent or tragic events. Usually the manifestation has something to do with the victims untimely end. You don't know much more then that.

Do i have any idea if there is a way to end the haunt peacefully or if destruction is the only choice?

You're not even sure how to destroy the haunt. There are sometimes ways to disspell them temporarily, but they often come back unless some significant task is undertaken.

To all, "How would you guys like to proceed? Would you like to continue to evaluate things here and do a final scrub down? I think that is a good idea.

I know Aaron want to track down the lizardfolk but i am not sure that is the first thing on the agenda.

I think we should report back to the pathfiner and Aarael. I would like to have a zone of truth up or someway to tell if the 'pathfinder' is genuine in our discussion.

David, have you documented all of are events dealing with the pathfinders and the lodge? I think if you want to become a pathfinder you should be able to make strong case if you have all the things we have done and found documented.

I also have on my agenda to split the things we found and do some purhcasing. I have a feeling we may be marked men while holding this artifact. I don't know if we should keep it out so it is usable or store it so it will be harded for people to detect that it is in our possession."

OOC: Jason and all I have most of the spreadsheet for treasure complete. I will try to post the appraisals/gather info for things i couldn't find the price of. If it is ok with you i would like to do the selling and loot distribution in parelellel with other stuff and assume it takes place sometime after we leave the lodge. Part of the reason i was waiting was for the stuff you may have missed but i will get what i have out soon and then combine other stuff later.

There are 4 other niches in the walls of the Amber Arca. You don't know how you missed them. Perhaps the same blindness which is affecting Aaron breifly overcame you somehow.

You see a curled and shriveled hand with long fingers labeled, “Hand of the Pharaoh of Nagas, Osirion”.

Another holds a mithril rapier labeled, “Whisperslash—the dueling sword of Baron Agustine II, the Cold Veteran of Oppara”

The 3rd has an exquisite chess set, “Chess set gifted from Taldor to Cheliax in 4315 ar” .

The final niche holds a belt with an intricately filigreed buckle made from an odd lustrous metal, "Ceremonial belt of Lord Branus Invalli of Nex."

"I can agree to settling things with the Pathfinder before seeking out the lizard. He was wounded and hopefully won't be a danger for a day or so more. The artifact should be secure in the Haversack for now I hope. It is a pocket dimension, few spells could find it there right? And other vampires will definitely be looking for it and won't have a hard time getting it now that it's back to being relatively safe. Hiding it somewhere is just asking for it to be stolen while we are away, nor would I want to put anyone other then ourself at risk."

Aaron informs the party of the Morrowfalls history that was imparted to him by it. The artifacts abilities he will hold off on telling them, they would be able to learn them just by touching the item if they needed to use it. He has to keep up his secretive nature afterall.


DM OOC: Can you have David D magic on the items? He can then try to identify with just spell craft at +10 and with identify at +20 if you can make the roles.

So I'm pretty sure we knew about the artifacts or that you had told us? (Or was it just us hearing jai) But if you didn't, I will ask you what's up with them before I start praying for my new spells (I don't have cure deafness/blindness memorized).

As we make our way back to the town, Aya will chat with the group about selling her glaive. She is thinking about selling it to her temple, but would consider a party member if they think they can handle the evil spirit that lurks inside it.

The hand requires a dmagic. It functions as a Stone of Luck.

The sword is a +1 defending mithril rapier.
The chess set is non-magical, but you would estimate its value at 3500gp.
The belt also requires a dmagic. Grants a +2 enhancement bonus to wisdom, a
+4 competence bonus on Use magic device, and the wearer can cast shield(CL1) once per day as a standard action by tapping the buckle. It's value is approximately 8000gp

Glances Around. Brushes some dust off the the thread and flips the lights on. Upon hearing the generator struggling to turn over, gives it a firm kick and starts typing IC starting with the Delvehaven cleanup.

You all give the sub basement a final sweep. Nothing else remarkable reveals itself on this level. You head back to the stairs and begin exiting the vault. As you reach the top you can see that the opening to the level above is surrounded by the toys. The idol and mister straw stare down at you while Catsby, Miss Molly, and Draggy form a very wide ring on the other 3 sides...


"Good day gentlemen. Seems those pesky vampires that you allowed to invade have been taken care of."

I assume the artifact was found in the amber arc. Were the other items found there? (The hand, the defending weapon, etc)

"As i told you before we plan to use the Morrowfoll to help rid the city of the shadow beasts. There is a great darkness affecting west crown perhaps the Morrowfoll can help ignite the return of a great light." Diplomacy 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 5, 1) + 16 = 28

Yes that is what the lodge members called their vault.

"He took part of the to Aohl. We will not allow relics hard earned by Delvehaven Pathfinders to be pilfered again. If you bring Illnericks half to the lodge you may rejoin them, but we can not let any of Delvehavens treasures to be taken away.!"

"One, I do not feel that you can protect the the remaining part of the Aohl. You claimed to not even know vampires were here. They were burrowing a tunnel to the artifact. I can show you the tunnel if you would like. Also we got past you to the artifact. So i feel that we will keep it more safe that you are capable of."

"Two, we were given permission by current living pathfinders to reclaim the items left here. So although they are being taken away they are not being stolen." Diplomacy 3d6 + 16 ⇒ (6, 5, 3) + 16 = 30

"There are things that need to be done and these items can help doing them. My suggestion is we take the artifact and you come with us to ensure it is safe. You will still be the protectors of the item as we will be and together we can ensure the Aohl is reunited and is stopped from causing all of this havoc. The dialogue with the soulbound dolls takes a decidedly ugly turn and all but the Mwangi Idol are destroyed. Kragar immobilizes it by sticking it in a bear trap and claims it as a prize. Shortly after, our protagonists are assaulted by a wil'o wisp. After some effort they manage to destroy it. Alcibades continued final sweep sets off not one but two haunts that the party had perviously encoutnered, but did not expect to deal with again. Eventually The final sweep was finished and the group heads back to the safe house. Aya cures Aarons blindness and the pathfinder Ailyn Ghontasavos beings debriefing the group to complete her report. During this time almost two weeks go by while the party arranges buys for artifacts and the creation of new gear. At that time the group checks on the sewers for the killer lizardman only to find he seems to have fled town. Aya is startled one day to find Millech the hump bursting into her cloister at the temple to inform her that her father has been kidnapped. She convinces the party to help her free him from a hellknight prisoner transport and they set up an ambush for the hellknights. The bridge ambush works out well, but takes and unexpected twist as the entire arrest seems to have been an ambush for the party. A huge Bullete skeleton bursts from the transport and Shanwen Shanwen tries unsuccessfully to ride it to victory. Eventually the hellknights are all killed or subdued. After freeing Rohbal the party sneaks the wagon back into Westcrown's ruined quarter and prepares for a journey to Nidal as that seems to be their only lead. Ailyn introduced the group to another Wiscrani and hopeful pathfinder who has been recently in Alkenstar. She prepares to file her report in Absolam. Shortly after she leaves, the night is shaken by a powerful explosion. Dust and debris choke the sky as 5 pillars of fire shoot into the the air somewhere in the vicinity of the Mayor's Manor. If you want to rp investigation or responses to the explosion on the board that would be good. keep and eye on you inbox for an e-mail of questions from the pathfinder.


After Westcrown is rocked my the early evening explosion in the direction of the mayor's house. new guy, Alex, and Aaron head out to find Aya at the temple of Shealyn. Meanwhile, David drags Alcibades towards the mayors house to investigate, Kreagar comes along for the opportunity to do some looting. David is sent in the direction of Alex's lodging and then to the temple to collect the others. The four of them run into the mayor as he is sneaking out of the city. Mayor Arvanxi explains a few bits and pieces of what is going on and signs them into the infernal contract that binds the engine beneath his home. This will allow the party to bypass some of the engines defenses (he thinks...). They also learn that a Pitfiend is at the heart of the engine and he may be breaking loose. The four let the mayor flee into the night. Meanwhile Alcibades and Kreagar run into a Dottari Blockade of the street leading towards the Mayors Manor. They try to fast talk then intimidate their way through the guards. Eventually they realize the Lieutenant is dominated and Alcibades tries to use his own magic to take control. He is successful and they are allowed to pass. As the party approached the mayors manor, Aaron spoted a figure on the roof. They were soon attacked by an Erinyes. Kreagar lead a charge atop his roc mount and nearly defeated her single handedly. She was forced to retreat. As they closed to the remains of the mayors manor, the party was soon attacked by a group of rogues whose presence was unexplained. Inside the manor they ran afoul of another group lead by a halfling calling himself, the dealer. When the battle turned against them, the dealer betrayed his comrades and entered a parley with the our heros. They gained a fair amount of information and the dealer left to "lay low" for awhile. Much of the rest of the manor was empty, but one chamber held an invisible intruder, who turned out to the the mayors former Majordomo. She was slain. Little of the manor remains, and soon the party may need to enter the spiral itself to begin trying to shut down the infernal engine...
