Yes, yes now I remember you. I visited with Koya from time to time but it's been so long. I lived in Korvosa and last I was in sandpoint must have been at least 5 years ago.

No I actually never lived in Sandpoint. But as a priest of Desna I used to travel much. Marlon does not reply to wether things had turned to the better and the look in his eyes indicates it just might not have.

Least ways, I hope it's special...Or else this will be the shortest surprise attack in history. :P

I have a bad feeling about this.

Cerana doesn't like this one bit, she keeps a keeps the incantations for create pit ready in her mind. Just in case anything were to go wrong. She casts mage armour before entering the room. Finally she does but keeps on eye on everything eyes darting around the room out of paranoia.

Once the group is in the room Sunny gives a re-cap of what has been discussed.

And Sunny launches into a pretty good rendition of everything that's been said:

Aye, I din't trust him from the start. Him makin' fun with them bird fellers an' all. Not carein' if'n they gets hurt an' what not.

Well, lets be frank. I believe you should kill him at the first chance, lest he does do you in. But be warned, he is not to be taken lightly.

His motives are suspect as are his claims to this place as his. I trust no one that surrounds themselves with such murderous creatures.

What, pray tell, would you have to gain from his death?

He was my mate and now it seems I'm unable to kill him alone. But that's not the worst, he mocks me, mocks me all the time, using his ability to speak in my lost voice, singing to me as I never can.. Oh how I loath him...Oh, and I fear HE plans to kill me soon, once he grew bored.

So you'll help me? Good, good. Unless you have a better plan, I would try to lure him to the library on top of the tower, where we can jump him. While non of his minions should be anywhere near there, we will still have to overpower him quickly, before he can flee to regroup. If he sends all his might against you, I doubt you would be able to withstand it.

"Basically, tha' enemy of my enemy is my friend an' Big-nose has ticked off Zaiobe here so that makes her our friend an' his an enemy!" Sunny summarizes with a bright grin. (^_^)

"Actually, scratch that, I could probably throw her pretty far. My point is: if we're careful, we should be fine. I assure you, Zaiobe, if you double-cross us then we will seek vengeance. Count on that."

Joining in with Zeema, Cerana asks Zaiobe: "I presume you are trying to get your voice back from us killing Kikino, what guarantee do you have that you won't just us it on us?"


"No, you misunderstood. My silence is a burden given by my god and has nothing to do with Kikono at all. I carry it with pride. The blasphemy is that he can use his eldricht abilities to circumvent the ban and make that which should be silent heard again. The only think I gain from this is vengeance and satisfaction."

MArlon is still a bit dumbfounded at this entire ploy. Sometime in the middle of the conversation the big man enquires:
"So how are we killing?"


"In general, you seem to be well versed in the art of killing already. An axe in the skull usually does the job."
She then starts to lead you back to the room she earlier stopped you from entering, checks if anyone is in and then quickly leads you through it and up a flight of stairs.
Upstairs you find a small library and a balcony.
"So, here no minion should come to his help as they are forbidden to enter. Tell me when you are ready and I'll telepathically call for him. Oh, and you should probably hide behind some shelf or something so he doesn't immediately know something is wrong."

You are now at U17, the balcony is the small area with "a".

Not waiting for an answer, Zeema begins to tap into a local ley line to strengthen her as she recites an incantation. Her skin once more becomes rough and jagged like the bark of an oak tree.

Zeema has cast Barkskin in conjunction with Place Magic to increase her caster level by 1, increasing her natural armor bonus by 2 for 40 minutes.

That's why I waited so long until letting him come, but it didn't seem like you wanted to do anything. You didn't even ask Zaiobe what he can do...^^

Hijiro, not wanting to give up the element of surprise, will leap out of hiding with his rapier out and attack.

I assume that utilized Sneak Attack? If yes the damage is 11 lower (uncanny dodge). 22 does still hit though.

Hijiro sudden leap startles Kikono but he manages to catch himself fast enough to slightly twist around, avoiding that his vitals get hit.

Waiting for everyone to do his suprise round. I'll pupeteer Zeema if she doesn't find time until then.

darn, so only 6 damage then if he can't be caught flat-footed


And I just quickly created a crude, bigger map of the room to give everyone room to maneuver (the normal room is to small to allow much moving for this many people so I had to paint a bigger one).
Please place yourself as positioning could become quite important in this fight.

He has no improve uncanny dodge btw, so flanking is still possible (if one managed to get into position for it). But don't expect him to go down easy, to kill him in the surprise round would require QUITE good rolls by everyone.

Peering through a slight gap in the door from the balcony Sunny sees brave Hijiro accost evil Mr Big-nose and she too leaps into the fray.

Move action to close on Kikono.

Marlon knows his companions will need his help and so he moves in to close with the beast baring his spear.

Move in next to Sunny and Hijiro to provde them bodyguard protection. If I'm allowed to attack I'll do so.


You are if you charge (I let Hijiro slip because one person could be argued to have hidden in range).

From her poised stance Cerana becomes visible and casts Colour spray on Kikono. Hoping he is actually capable of being affected.

Will save DC16, I take it he has more than 5 HD so he is stunned for 1 round if he fails.

Placing 1st round just to speed things up: Enlarge person on Marlon. Move action move away from the fighting.


1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Kikono seems stunned by your brilliant and working execution of battlefield control spell.


Note that he might not actually loose any actions in case you get to act first in the next round.
Enlarge Person has a casting time of 1 Round.

@Teller: So I won't move then when casting enlarge. Is there actually any point in placing an effect someone in the surprise round then, wouldn't the target be affected for one of their rounds? Since you know they haven't had a round in the surprise round.

Zeema charges and attacks Kikono with her scythe from close range, intending to stop Kikono before he can flee.

Just to let you know, I'll rule that everyone delayed to after Cerana to avoid any possible problem with targeting Color Spray into meele. This also means that Hijiro managed to Sneak Attack (stunned losses Dex).

Moving around him and attacking together is not possible in the surprise round. I only counted the move.

Cerana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Kikono: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Zaiobe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

He recovers from the surprise and to your shock his wounds are already slowly starting to heal.
Zaiobe meanwhile casts a spell, leading sudden burst of sound originating next to Kikono, but also enveloping Yix and Hijiro. While clearly affected, Kikono barely manages to keep himself together.

Why did you roll critical damage? An 18 should not confirm (at least as long as I didn't miss anything, reducing the damage of the second claw to 11.)
