Male Human Hungry Ghost Monk 4

Crunchy Parts:

STR: 14+2=16 [5] DEX: 14 [5] CON: 12 [2] INT: 14 [5] WIS: 15 [7] CHA: 7 [-4]

Jun-La

Hungry Ghost + Quinggong Monk.

Traits:
Historian: +1 to Knowledge Hist, +1 to Knowledge (planes), Knowledge (planes) is class skill
Spirit Sense: +2 Trait Bonus to Perception, used only when avoiding Surprise or to detect/isolate invisible/incorporeal creatures. Imagine that there's a mildly annoyed spirit whispering in his ear saying "No, meatsack-who-is-blind, over there!"

Feats:
Human: Fast Learner: Gets two of the three favored class modifers. Will be using for skill ranks and HPs, or skill ranks and ki points. 4+2+1+1=8 Skill Ranks/Level
General: Toughness: +1 HP/level
Improved Unarmed Strike (Monk, basic)
Punishing Kick: 1 attack per level shoves target 5' away, or DC 14 Fort Save to avoid being knocked prone.
1st Level Monk Bonus Feat: Dodge
2nd Level Monk Bonus Feat: Deflect Arrows
3rd Level Weapon Focus: Unarmed Strike

Skills:

Knowledge (hist): 3+3+2+1=+9
Knowledge (religion): 3+3+2+0=+8
Knowledge (planes): 3+3+2+1=+9
Linguistics: 1+0+2=+3 (Speaks Tian, two other languages from INT)
Perception: 3+3+2+0=+8/+10 vs. Surprise & Invis.
Heal: 2+3+2+0=+7
Sense Motive: 2+3+2+0=+7
Acrobatics: 3+3+2=+8
Stealth: 3+3+2=+8
Climb: 1+3+3=+7
Swim: 1+3+3=+7

AC: 10+2+2+1+1=16
HP 1st: 8+3+1+1 (FC: HPs & SPs)
HP 2nd: 5+0+1+1 (FC: HPs & SPs)
HP 3rd: 5+0+1+1 (FC: HPs & SPs)

Move 40' round.
Attack: +6 for 1d6+3 || +4 for 1d6+3, +4 for 1d6+3
Sword Attack: +6 for 1d8+4 || +4 for 1d8+4, +4 for 1d8+4
Shurikens: +4 for 1d2+3 || +2 for 1d2+3, +2 for 1d2+3

Saves: Fort: 3+1+1=+5, Reflex: 3+2+1=+6, Evasion, Will: 3+2+1=+6/+8 vs Mind

Sword attack assumes two-handing the sword, which means no Deflect Arrows.

Mechanical Justifications Of Stuffs:

CHA is 7 because he has conversations with people who aren't physically present. In languages other people don't understand. If you're doing a "soft-R", feel free to have one or more of the spirits riding on him be crude or easily distracted by anything female.

His knowledge (planes) and knowledge (hist) ranks (and Linguistics) come from him letting one of his spirit riders "take the reins" and babble onwards.

Quinggong Monk: I'll be trading Slow Fall for the ability to cast Barkskin from Ki - this will, around 4th level, give him a base AC of 10+2+3+1+1+2=20. Mage Armor would give him a 23.

Hungry Ghost Monk:
At 1st level, he gets Punishing Kick, replacing Stunning Fist. When he hits someone, he can shove them 5' away from himself with no save, or knock them over with a Fort Save. I expect to use this to set up M'Ninga's Cleaves.
At 5th level, when he crits or kills a living creature, he replenishes a point of Ki
At 7th level, when he crits or kills a living creature, he heals a number of HPs equal to his level.
At 11th level, these ki and healing abilities work on undead and constructs.

Roleplaying wise: He's never going to be comfortable with those Hungry Ghost Monk abilities.

Equipment:

3000 GP to spend:

1000 GP: Bracers of Armor +1
1000 GP: Cloak of Resistance +1
500 GP: Jade Wayfinder (Casts guidance instead of light)
360 GP: Masterwork Cold Iron Temple Sword
30 GP: 15 Cold Iron Shuriken

110 GP left unspent.

Background! The Stuff Lass Puts Up With Math To See!:

Jun-La's great-grand-parents came from Tian Xia to found a monastary of the Abadaran rites and bring the benefits of culture to Avistan...and had the ill fortune to choose what eventually became the Crusader Kingdom of Mendev as their home base of operations. Their monastic retreat kept having to move as the borders shifted. Eventually, they took up being itinerant teachers and peddlars, mending broken wheels, helping the sick, and carrying things from one village to the next for a fee or a cut of the sales. Their children married locals, and they in turn married locals, and the teachings of the family, while still present, were more traditions rather than a driving desire.

Jun-La originally heard the voices in his head when he was five, during breathing exercises with his mother, wrapped up in furs and listening to people talking about something called the Worldwound, at a time when the wardstones were weakened.

He saw his first ghost when he was seven...and he started speaking Tian without anyone teaching it to him at the age of eight. In the area of Mendev, demonic possession happens, and this concerned many. His family, working as itinerant traders, eventually brought him to the spiritualists at a monastery of the Godclaw...who, at the very least, judged him free of demonic possession. While under a deep trance, his spirit riders were able to speak more clearly, through him. They were pulled from the afterlife by the Worldwound and its Wardstones. Not having lived the most virtuous of lives, were afraid of being sucked into the Abyss itself.

They latched on to the boy because he's spiritually like wool and burrs, easy to grab on to. They would like to be put to rest in Tian Xia, please, at the Temple of the Mother of Souls in Shenmen.

This seance allowed better communication between Jun-la and his ancestors. This hasn't always been a happy circumstance; while he lectures them about the need to live a life of restraint, they...still crave the vices and venalities they enjoyed during life, and try to coax him into indulging them, so that they can experience them again vicariously.

Many times, Jun-la has sharp conversations with someone who isn't there, saying "No, I won't do {insert description here...}. If you felt any sort of shame, you wouldn't be tempted to ask..."

If Jun-la manages to convince his spirits to be better people before reaching Shenmen, there should be some sort of RP reward; while they don't think they can change, being spirits, he feels they can be redeemed.
