Reynard Freeman |

Reynard springs forward, aiming to sink his claws deeply into the ogre Skarn wounded.
Pounce! But only with claws, due to the limitations of the spell.
Attack, +1 Claw: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 16 + 2 = 26
Damage, Magical/Piercing/Slashing: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Damage, Magical/Piercing/Slashing: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
Pounce drops his AC to 29 for this round.

DM Carbide |

Round 2 (ongoing):
Reynard's first blow finishes off the wounded ogre.
Erond, Trox, and Cordwin to go!

Trox Ragmend |

Trox closes the distance keeping his shield up his first swing is done more defensively and it simply bounces off of the giant. "S*~%."
+1 Adamantine Longsword PA CE: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
AC: 32/18/26

Trox Ragmend |

DO we actually use hero points? I would reroll that attack if we do, I just don't remember.
+1 Adamantine Longsword PA CE: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Of course it still wouldn't matter but I would have one less Hero Point. FML.

Cordwin Ironbeard |

Cordwin will launch two bolts at whichever ogre looks the worst off.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Attack Haste: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Damage 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Wow! What horrible rolls!

Trox finishes the second wounded ogre (AC 17, and your minimum damage will kill it), while Cordwin is momentarily confused by the lack of a wounded ogre and can't recover in time.
Erond?

DM Carbide |

Erond delays. Two of the ogres strike at Trox, but miss.
Round 3:

Cordwin
Skarn

Everyone can act!
Regular ogres: AC 17

Skarn Hornfels |

Skarn was +6/+3 from normal, but with the Bardsong and Haste, he is +11/+7. His weapon continues to be Giantbane. So that is +13/+9. He will use Combat Expertise to -2 his attacks, and +2 his AC. So he is +11/+9+2d6, and AC 31. He moves to where he is on the map. No AOOs. With Haste, he should have plenty of movement to make it.
Skarn will now execute a Full attack commencing with the green Ogre.
Heavy Pick +1 Hit: 1d20 + 11 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 11 = 35
Heavy Pick +1 Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 9 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 9 + (6, 1) = 26 x4, P
Iterative attack:

Heavy Pick +1 Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 9 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 9 + (5, 5) = 28 x4, P
Crit confirm:
Heavy Pick +1 Hit: 1d20 + 11 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 11 - 5 = 27
Heavy Pick +1 Damage: 3d6 + 18 + 9 + 27 + 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) + 18 + 9 + 27 + (6, 4) = 77 x4, P (105 damage if confirmed!)
Haste attack:
Heavy Pick +1 Hit: 1d20 + 11 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 11 = 25
Heavy Pick +1 Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 9 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 9 + (6, 3) = 25 x4, P

DM Carbide |

Skarn, I think you started just south of Trox. Remember that the extra movement from haste doesn't add to a 5' step, so if you move more than 5' you can't take a full attack action unless you've got some ability I've forgotten.

Cordwin Ironbeard |

Cordwin will aim for the closest one.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Attack Haste: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Damage 1: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage 2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Damage Haste: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Attack 1 Confirm: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Damage 1 Additional damage if confirmed: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Skarn Hornfels |

Oh, right, no need for a Hasted attack. My two attacks can be my primary, and then a Cleave attack. So the first attack on the first ogre, and then the crit on the second ogre, and ignore the hasted attack completely. That second one wouldn't have the -5 to hit on it either.

Trox Ragmend |

Trox looks at the ogre with the green sash and smiles. "You should have hit me when you could." He still is fighting to protect himself but tries to cut the ogre down and a quick flurry of swings.

DM Carbide |

Resolving what I have in initiative order:
Cordwin wounds the closest ogre. Skarn steps up and finishes off the wounded one before smashing the adjacent ogre to death.
I'm unable to edit the map from my phone; solid red and solid green are both down before Trox gets there, though.

Reynard Freeman |

Bounding forward again, Reynard attacks the rightmost ogre with his claws.
Attack, Charge, +1 Claw: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 16 + 2 = 25
Damage, Magical/Piercing/Slashing: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Attack, Charge, +1 Claw: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 16 + 2 = 35
Damage, Magical/Piercing/Slashing: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Pouncing Fury still running, so I'm charging but can only attack with claws. -2 to AC for the rest of the round.

Druamin |

With a final broad sweep of both his arms through the air, Druamin finishes his spell. Out of thin air a massive buzzing giant wasp appears over one of the ogres just behind the front line. The wasp's thorax convulses as it aims its stinger at the ugly creature.
giant wasp@blue ogre: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Need Fort Save DC 18 to avoid poison. The poison causes 1d2 dexterity dmg.
Right after the wasp appears, Druamin points to a gap between the wall and Trox. "Kobu, there. Attack!"
The giant porcupine lumbers forward then swings its tail at the ogre.
tail slap@green ogre: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
dmg: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 5) + 7 = 16 Strong Jaw makes it more dmg
Seeing his porcupine engaged, Drumain casts another spell. A flaming sphere appears at the back of the group of creatures.
Cast Flaming Sphere and intend it to land on the ogre outlined with dashed pink lines. DC 16 relfex to avoid dmg. I'll roll dmg in case it fails.
dmg flaming sphere: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) = 15

DM Carbide |

I've finally been able to update the map as described above; Reynard, Trox, and Druamin, you may change your actions since your declared targets were dead before you acted.

DM Carbide |

I'm not. The only reasons I'm running it out are the tactical situation and the chance of a bunch of 20s.

Trox Ragmend |

"Stop killing the things I am going to kill." Trox mumbles as he steps forward to swing once at pink dash.
+1 Adamantine Longsword PA CE: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 1 = 28

DM Carbide |

I thought you were going to let them come to you -_^.
Round 3 (ongoing):

Reynard and Druamin, please update your actions; Erond can also act.

Erond to go!
DC 16 Reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 5

DM Carbide |

Erond delays.
Are any of you in other games with Erond's player? The last post was almost a month ago--I hope they're OK.
The ogre targeted by the wasp pounds it out of the air. The hill giant hurls a rock at Trox, which the fighter dodges; two other ogres also go after Trox, and both miss as well. One of the ogres attacks Kobu and misses, and one of the other ogres goes after Reynard and also misses.

DM Carbide |

Glad to hear you're all right, just ridiculously busy. Now which ones are you shooting at?

Druamin |

Can't access the map right now. At work. It's blocked.
Druamin's giant wasp doesn't last long against the ogres. He shakes his head. This is going to have to be a bit more up close and personal. He shuffles forward to right behind Kobu. Reaching out to touch the giant porcupine, he offers a few magical words.
"Ok boy, go get them."
Kobu swings its tail at the closest ogre.

DM Carbide |

Round 4 (ongoing):
Skarn advances into a multiplicity of attacks and is hit twice for 43 HP. Then he gives better than he got, but is unable to drop either of the ogres or the hill giant.
Kobu finishes his target with two swift tail slaps. Cordwin wounds the ogre he's shooting at, and then Erond takes it down with his doubled arrows. The cleric switches to attacking the hill giant, as it's next in line; however, all three of his remaining shots fail to penetrate its heavy armor and dense hide.
Reynard to go!
AoO damage: 4d8 + 26 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 7) + 26 = 43

DM Carbide |

These are the somewhat more capable ogres. The hill giant is also a little better than average (which is why Erond couldn't hit it).

Reynard Freeman |

Reynard steps forward and tears into the nearest ogre with tooth and claw and spike.

Attack, Bone Spikes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Damage, Piercing: 1d6 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

DM Carbide |

Reynard, I thought we'd discussed that if you were using the bone spikes your claw/claw/bite sequence was treated as a secondary attack (-2 to hit due to Multiattack/half STR bonus to damage). It looks like you're still using the same to hit and damage modifiers for everything except the iterative bone spike attack.

DM Carbide |

Reynard attacks the nearest ogre in a whirlwind of fang, claw, and bone. The enemy proves to have surprisingly resistant armor, turning both claws and the followup spike attack, and seems to still be quite healthy despite the two hits.
Then the enemies have their turn. Only one manages to hit the well-defended party members, though--the hill giant lands a greatclub blow on Skarn for 24 HP.

Who cast prayer (which normally only gives a +1), and when? Who cast divine favor, and when? Also too, Erond's bardsong is +4/+4.
Prayer was cast here, by me. I get +2 from it for “Fate’s Favored.”
Divine Favor was declared here, by me. Oops, that should be +3, not +2. Possibly +4, due to Fate’s Favored?
Why is Inspire Courage +4 at this level? It should be +2 at 9th level.
If Bardsong is +4 (vice +2) and I’ve been using Divine Favor as +2 (vice +4), I should be using +26 to attack these giants, not +22.
