This is what I created on a level 13 Trisalt, 40 point buy
And this is what the one round looked like- basically I one rounded the BBEG of a 5e mod converted to pathfinder.(Count 182 dmg once subtracting DR) And my fellow player had nothing to do.
That's what I mean by why tapping into Forbidden cheese, and yes I felt bad after that. I've been trying to stay away from even thinking about Forbidden Cheese these days.
But you gotta admit it is FUN! :D
There should be a way for players to unleash their combo wombos, amazing cheesy whatnots, and still prevent the game from going Full Mode Insanity Rocket Tag.
I've been toying with the indea of a dramatic increase on monster HP from a certain point on - if your adversary had something along the lines of 600-1k hp, then it would have a chance to do something :D
What do you think?

![]() |

Eh.
If you did that, it would just encourage me to *really* dig deep to find the extra-special cheese ;-)
Now, admittedly, I can't do 1000 damage in one round without access to ultra cheeseMythic, but I reckon I could make a reasonable dent in that at high levels, if I was allowed to :-D

GM Mort |

It was fun. While I was doing it. Then I felt horribly sick with guilt afterwards. But yeah that’s why I’ve been trying not to touch ze forbidden cheese!
But on a more serious note, I won’t be tampering with the hp(unless by spells) of the creatures you fight. I generally tamper with tactics, second next to go will be spell selection. So the AC/hp of stuff you fight may increase. I may also change a couple of feats. But I won’t artificially bump hp, or add extras, unless it’s like Group A retreating and calling Group B for help kind of thing.
Ask Nigel when I did a small little monstrous physique change in Strange Aeons. His opponent was some deranged guy who had too much exposure to the Old Gods(he hears their whispers in his head), so he turned his familiar into Bokrug. It made RP sense =P
Not that I was able to hit Luke’s familiar though, so aww…

GM Mort |

Bear took 8 dmg from skeleton swipes.
Azmythe healed 6 hp, Bear is at 7 hp
Then bear took another 9 damage from Asar, putting him at -2.

GM Mort |

Using forbidden cheese to me feels like bullying people because you’re bigger then them and they can’t do anything to fight back =(

sorry, I think I counted the 8 as 6, or the 6 as 8, not sure, but at -2...

GM Mort |

Azmythe, if I moved your mini wrongly, please move your mini yourself. I'm now on phone so movement isn't very precise.

Hedran |

Hmmmmm Discussion was not showing any new posts :P
When I was speaking about increasing HP, I meant of course doing it as a GM, but maybe as a system it could also help - the more rocket tag the game gets, the more HP the bad guys have. Maybe this gives them some durability.
Problem is, durable bad guys with rocket tag powers themselves....

Ratel Dier |

ok, folks, I'm headed to bed, I will be back on for a little bit in 8 hrs, but I'm scheduled in early at work so I won't be able to post after that until thirteen or fourteen hours from now.
Mort just have Bear and Ratel keep swinging...

GM Mort |

Yeah have a good snooze, Ratel. Tomorrow is back to my usual scrappy weekend activity ^^

Ratel Dier |

Mort, I started to retcon Ratel's actions, isn't the 'healing room' on this map before we got to the skeletons?
It will make a difference on whether Bear attacks or not. Either way, since the girl is now conscious, Ratel will not need to carry her.
Nigel can you use the shield?

Ratel Dier |

It is, you can go feed bear stuff.
i'm going to move him up beside, Ratel, Also will use the shield for now, not claiming it if Nigel wants it.

Just cooked Ramen for my Bf and his family. They liked it! I'm so happy =)

Nice, Main ingredients? I mean other than broth and noodles :-)

Ratel Dier |

Ratel Dier wrote:Nigel can you use the shield? No.
does anyone mind if Ratel keeps the shield then?

600g of shabu shabu pork collar, some black Fungus, sheets of seaweed, a half boiled egg each and spring onion garnishing. Was supposed to add Enoki Mushrooms but I forgot to buy them.

Ratel Dier |

That sounds really good, even without the mushrooms.
I assume you made the broth from the pork, or did you use something else, like chicken stock?

![]() |

I cheated >< The Ramen is of the instant variety that comes with stock packets.
If you really want to make your own Ramen broth it's at least 8 Hours of boiling the huge pork trotter bone.

Hey, our Ramen comes with stock packets too!
Boiling the bone would work. When my mother in law makes her vegetable soup she boils a beef bone for several hours, then cracks it open and puts the marrow in also. Yeah, it's really good...
Sadly, most of the time I fix ramen, I boil it with the packet in but drain all the broth off of it and serve 'stir fry' over it. I like the noodles more than rice... (I know, I'm barbaric.)

![]() |

For us usually we don't want the marrow as it makes a dark coloured soup and we like our soups looking clean.
Anyway the full breakdown of the whole thing:
Cooking in other's peoples kitchens is different from your own.
That one, already knew, so I'm not too critical of myself if I don't get everything picture perfect on the first try.
So the eggs I think were a little too cooked for their taste, but again they cracked when I put them in boiling water, despite me lowering them gently in with a soup ladle (usually the tendency is for people to drop the eggs in with bare hands, which results in cracks on the eggs). I think next time I should wait until its almost boiling but not quite, before popping the eggs in.
The noodles turned out a little bit too soft for my liking, but again I didn't want to serve their family uncooked noodles. Besides usually the portion I cook for myself and my brother is half the amount I cooked today. Increasing the proportion adds additional challenges, like how to get all the noodles out before they turn soggy. (There was too much water in the pot, and the pot was made out of glass), for me to simply just pour the water out like I do at home)
Gripping the shabu shabu out with tongs got tiring, since I'm not used to gripping so much - that's 600 g of shabu shabu I was shabuing. After my fingers started to get tired, and I dropped a piece of shabu, I decided to stick to chopsticks to pull out the shabu shabu.
I'd probably have prepared more black fungus and spring onion, but I was unsure if it was just me and my BF eating or their entire family.
Then his mom started passing me the soba saying that she didn't know what to do with it, so my next cooking project in his house will be soba. Probably with black pepper/terriyaki chicken as a side dish.
Ratel, the broth is the best part of the Ramen =P
Yeah, talk to me about food, and I can go on for quite some time =P

Ratel Dier |

ok, so the Ramen broth recipe you posted had the bones cracked, is their broth darker than you prefer? Also, this egg recipe was attached to that recipe, is it similar to how you fixed your eggs? Cause that looks really good.
When I boil eggs I place them in the water cool and then heat them up with the water and turn it off when it comes to a boil then let them sit ten minutes. But that's a hard boiled egg. I would use a wooden spoon probably. But I'm much more used to tongs than chopsticks, I cook with tongs all the time, but only use chopsticks with sushi.
I have a recipe using buckwheat noodles yeah, don't judge me :-) I'm going to try... I just need to finish my diet first...

![]() |

Yeah kinda a bit(on dark broth). This other recipe tells you to remove the marrow.
The egg recipe is hanjuku egg. Didn't get that complicated(it requires 3-4 hours earlier prep, I don't have that time), just dumped eggs into boiling water for 6 minutes.
Tongs are faster when taking out Shabu-shabu, but also harder on your fingers...yep my fingers started trembling from strain. So I had to use lighter tools, aka the chopsticks.
10 min gets you hard boiled eggs. Usually 6 at home gets me half boiled eggs.
You see, if you put an egg into hot water, any hairline fractures will cause the shell to crack and then you get egg leaking out.
I don't know how you can add peanut butter on your noodles...even this satay beehoon, which involves peanuts, does NOT require peanut butter...I'm sorry lol Ratel.

![]() |

Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I'm really bad at trying not to judge when it comes to blasphemies of food...
Again I know I've done it before, like we used pasta to cook laksa once.

Ratel Dier |

LOL, hey we all judge when it comes to food....
So in the combat with the 'bloody skeletons' we are waiting on Robert then the Skeletons, yes?

GM Mort |

K, was hoping Robert would be able to pop in after his PFS game(since it's a weekend, so things aren't going to move very fast either), but since he didn't while I was asleep, I've botted him and moved you guys on.

Ratel Dier |

So, a question about the 'bloody skeletons.' What happens if we put the heads in a bag and carry them around with us? Will the bones follow us around? Can we dump the heads out someplace and the skeletons form there?
It would make quite a trap, or easy undead cannon-fodder...

GM Mort |

They'll grow new heads where the majority of the body is. And be bloody skeletons again!

![]() |

Mecha'thun, guys, Mecha'thun!
Successful executions - pun intended =P
But seriously the conditions to carry out the combo are rather harsh. I've always been a FACE! kind of hearthstone player. Baku paladins make me happy!
Also Luke, I finished my bastard rank run on improbable island some time ago.

![]() |

Ok this is funny...I made myself a mecha'thun deck, and the opponent, a warrior using Doctor Boom, conceded, when I got my deck fatigued.
Why I did it..? FOR SCIENCE!
I had 27 hp, 18 armor. My opponent had 29 hp, 40+ armor. But again I wasn't the least concerned since...yeah the Mecha'thun was in my hand and I was just wearing my hand down to fulfill the win condition.
I strongly believe that he knew what was coming...

Ratel Dier |

uuummmmm, I don't know what to say... literally I don't have a clue..
However it does sound like your having fun annihilating things, and I guess better them than us :-)

![]() |

It's more addressed to Hedran, who has played Hearthstone before.
