Oh and watched Black Panther for the second time. You know, cats =)
GM Mort
On a more serious note, I think it's unlikely that you'll be able to clear the entire dungeon at one go(you'd need a Clw wand)and will likely need to take rest breaks.
Ratel Dier
Azmythe has no more healing for Bear today.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8+1+1 for RatelAzmythe could use one of those quivers of blunt arrows.
That's fine, I'll have Ratel take Bear outside, the healing will put Ratel at 8. Inside the wagon was " a labelled potion of cure light wounds," he will pick it up when he takes bear out, and carry it just in case.
Azmyth, would you answer Ratel 'in game' and we will move on.
Ratel Dier
Ratel! Beetle moves before you! Nigel's action, sure I can give, since he beats beetle in init. Your roll will be taken in once beetle gets its turn. Or assuming it doesn't die before then :P
I just realized what I did, I looked at the list and saw 'Robert' rolled 13 and the bug rolled 7, so I went... I will delete it.

Someone's comments about PF 2.0
Honestly I'm not happy with paizo dropping PF, but whatever. And PF 2.0 was looking like 5e.
I mean the last time I was GMing 5e...the encounter told me to run pirates at the inn.
Look, please in the name of god tell me how many pirates I need to throw at the party >.< You didn't want to leave that to my discretion did you?
In the end I threw them a pirate for each party member. Because the showgame has to go on.
I'm a cat of law and order, and also a lazy arse cat. So anything unspecific and requiring me to use my brain cells...doesn't make me happy.
I've also popped open a can of beer. Cheers!
Ratel Dier
ok, cat or not, that's talent. No opposable thumb, and still able to open a beer...
I've never played 5e, but I will go read more about PF 2

Mage handpaw is a thing =)
Probably a good idea since PF2.0 will be the new gen stuff. I mean I should look into it but urgh at this point of time I'm not emotionally ready to.

BTW guys, please inform me how you lot are seeing in complete darkness. Those with darkvision, fine. But those without, well someone NEEDS to hold a lantern, or carry a helmet with a light on it etc. Else I'm really going to impose 50% concealment chance on everyone without darkvision.
GM Mort
Robert does not have darkvision, I can bot him holding a torch/bulls eye lantern but it means no ranged attacks, because you need 2 hands to use a bow. Azmythe has low light vision.
At crypt entrance, I could still say that there sufficient light from outside to fight by. And in the room with pits, the purple lichen gave some rudimentary light source. But now it's really no light.
I'm not sure how I feel about holding a bulls eye lantern in one hand, then dropping it as a free action when combat starts, because all the paper lanterns I've ever held, if you drop them, the candle flame within would go out.
Sure, putting one down as a move action would definitely work.

Don't we have anyone that can cast 'light' or 'dancing lights'? unfortunately with my weapon choices, dropping something then putting on the shield or Scizor becomes impractical. I plan on switching back and forth when there is no light, but that's when I thought the shield bonuses added up :(
GM Mort
If any casters had light/dancing light spells,we would not be having this conversation ^^ Light would have been auto botted on.
Azmythe cantrips: 0 (at will)—daze (DC 14), detect magic, read magic
Hedrans cantrips: 0 (at will)—acid splash, detect magic, disrupt undead
I look through everyone's character sheets, you know.
GM Mort
Had I known you were under the misconception that shield bonuses added up I would have corrected you but I thought you liked how the weapon looked, and also the psudeopower attack built in.

yeah, the shield thing was an after thought, I certainly do like the damage it does. Eventually he will be unnamed but for now it will be the primary weapon, the one I like the look of is from 'Willow'
GM Mort
Holdergast would be happy to hand out the goodies, except currently all its doing is giving summoned merfolk stomachaches.
Ratel Dier
Ok, I'm off Sunday and Monday, so headed to bed, I will be back on in six or seven hours. If Ratel's turn comes around, have him power attack the bug.
GM Mort
Nope, combat is over. Now is the what you want to do phase. I need a direction from the group on what they want to do.
GM Mort
Don't worry if you're unsure of the rules. Im happy to explain stuff. It's people who insist that their familiars have the the intelligence of the base creature + The familiar intelligence table and that kind of thing that get my goat.
I know I'm not perfect myself, but that's what we're all here for,to learn.
Hedran
Thanks GM Mort - Even though I am constantly looking for martial + arcane characters, I have (amazingly I know) shied away from Magus many many times because it seems to be a class with several features which require a very good understanding, or it will perform poorly.
But not anymore - this time I will give it a try, and with some twists of my own which I know may be wrong, but I guess I need to feel them in the skin :D
GM Mort
Don't worry, I don't think I played my magus too well, either. I played up the hexcrafter angle more and it's an old joke that I'd go to every table and tell them I'm a witch.
Basically your hexes(when you get them) give you a lot of stamina. Where a magus would run out of shocking grasps, you can just spam hexes all day long.
Usually in PFS you'll mirror image before you kick down the door, but likely here there won't be many doors to kick down.
You can either get a scimitar and go shocking grasp route, or monstrous physique into something wtf (btw - the limitations for monstrous physique are stated in the recruitment rules), and abuse frostbite, since you'll be discharging those charges everytime you hit with your natural weapons.
At level 7, each frostbite charge discharged will do 1d6+7 non lethal, and if you're sporting 4 attacks a round...that's 4d6+28 in frostbite damage.
I had to put some limitations since the last time I let monstrous physique go unlimited, Luke(now Nigel) turned his familiar into Yig with monstrous physique.
Hedran
One of the doubts which came up for me was between Frostbite and Chill touch, mainly because of the non lethal 'thing' and fighting opponents immune to non-lethal.
Also I don't think I will go the Rime Spell route, so there could even be a better alternative to these - but I did not find any.
I shied away from the scimitar cookie-cutter + shocking grasp + Dex based build because I like STR builds, and I like not depending on a specific type of weapon (mainly if there is no magic mart). And because I have the feeling Dervish Dance may get an errata soon to get in line with Slashing and Fencing Grace, so I didn't want to go down that route, which can be controversial.

Now THAT is a familiar :D
GM Mort
Most stuff are not immune to non lethal (at least what I've seen till book 3) so the frostbite issue shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Ratel Dier
hhhmmm, so the last 26 posts in the game thread weren't showing on my queue, fortunately the ten here were, I'll have some reading to do to catch up...
GM Mort
Knowledge check for this guy would be religion. Unfortunately no one in the party has that.
Ratel Dier
dang, maybe Ratel should be a oracle or a druid, huh, druids don't get knowledge religion...
But, No clerics get animal companions at first level
hmmm, divine hunter get's religion...
Hey Mort, Are we considering altering classes between games?
GM Mort
Me? Alter classes? I don't know where to start!
The best you'd manage is get a trait to give knowledge religion as a class skill.
GM Mort
Generally how I bot is when a single player is holding up a game and I know that person, due to timezones, is asleep. I'm also happier betting classes with less options, lest I get complains like, "You should have dropped the glitterdust down here!"
