Female Human Wizard (metal elementalist)/2

Action 1:

Malka's pulse quickened a bit at the mention of people. Maybe they were making headway after all with finding Khonnir. "Do you remember how many creatures like us and how many creatures not like us that there were? Or what they looked like?" To hopefully clarify her question, Malka pictured herself as well as the others for comparison to help the fungus.

Action 2:

Malka watched the cerebric fungus make its way to the hallway. "I think we should continue following the direction that it mentioned the people were taken. But do we just leave the cerebric fungus? It seems harmless enough at the moment but what if it gets out into the caves? We have not closed any doors behind us."

Seven stepped back as the thing oozed by them, ready to hit it real hard if it tried anything funny, though it seemed more interested in the blood on the floor than theirs. He eyed it suspiciously but did not attack.

"You think Counsel Mintbane was hauled off by the bad things? He in trouble? Val'll be mad." He nodded to himself.

"Find Counsel Mintbane first?" Seven asked, almost a question. He pointed toward the eastern door.

Zaken nodded. "I agree with your course of action, Malka... if there is a chance that Mr. Baine was one of those dragged to the east, we should investigate it immediately!" He then pointed to the direction the fungus moved. "I think he is harmless as well and even if he could turn out to be a threat, we have pressing concerns right now... when we finish our business here we can think about it. With luck he will spend his next hours, or even days, licking the blood quietly."

The thoughts inundated everyone's brains at the same time, ::Three creatures like you and three creatures not like you passed by.::

Having answered the question, the alien plant-animal proceeded into the hallway. Thoughts of delight were perceived as it started eating the blood.

Action 1
::A vessel is...:: Jeyne started to explain - but then she discovered she could not well describe it, either, not in words. Instead, she tried to recall a memory, one that had erupted in brief blips throughout her entire maturation, and send it to the fungus not in words, but in feeling, in pictures.

Its name had translated to The Majestic, in the Common tongue. It was the size of a small city, and its metal walls glinted in the sun of a far-off world. She (He? They?) had been responsible for monitoring the air system prior to the ship's launch, and in her mind's eye she was hovering several inches above a control panel, monitoring the readout as it flashed. Nitrogen, 70%. Oxygen, 23%. Argon, 1%. Carbon dioxide, 3 parts per 10,000. It wasn't satisfaction that rolled through the memory, per se - that would have been impossible. But there was a certainty, a sureness that this system, at least, would perform its function.

::A vessel is a means of conveyance through space. It creates a habitable environment within no matter what the external environment is. It is...it is a home, a home that can travel far.::

Action 2

Three like and three not like...it seems we may have a bit of a struggle on our hands, then, Jeyne mused to herself before speaking aloud to the others. "The fungus seems not to be a concern. It has enough blood to satiate it for the time being; we can devise a longer-term solution later, perhaps see if it can aid Torch's butcher with disposal. Councilman Baine's recovery must be our highest priority - and the recovery of whoever else may have been abducted by the creatures." At Seven's gesture, Jeyne's eyes follow, and she nods in agreement. "Let us continue to follow the trail. We can explore the other spaces later."

As soon as Malka saw the medical lab, she immediately moved closer to Seven. Partly to be comforting and partly because she was unsure what his reaction may be. She hoped that she would be a calming presence for him.

When the medical drone made its presence known Malka knew that she wasn't going to be part of any medical procedure.

So she stepped backward, allowing LEEK past her, and stood where Seven had been a moment before. She had seen the large man's swing go wide, and so she reached forward and set a hand on his shoulder gently, willing a measure of her spirits' guidance into him to attempt to ensure it would not happen again. Camrad found something about the machine very unsettling. Maybe it was it's clean, stark white armored exterior that seemed to belie the dark work it was committing, or perhaps it was how it claws tore through Jeyne with calm precision. Either way, it had to be stopped.

With the drone apparently out of commission, Malka quickly moved to Seven to make sure he hadn't been hurt further. Seeing that he wasn't worse off than before, she smiled at his comment. "Yes, calm."

Examining the canisters, Jeyne was able to confirm Malka's hypothesis about the anesthetic, but the other canisters still eluded her. Looking up from the syringe, she began to explore the space around them, closing her eyes for a moment as she retraced their path through the vessel. The trail of blood ends here, she murmured a few moments later in a moment of insight. Whoever this was, this was their destination - any movement after this was after bleeding had ceased. We shall have to search for further hints as to the victim's fate. And opening her eyes, she did just that, though without much success.

We should consider either heading back to the surface or resting in here - if we do not wish to resurface, this room would perhaps be the best place to remain. With only one door, it is easily defensible, and perhaps we can communicate with the fungus again and ask it to act as a lookout and contact us telepathically if it sees a threat approaching.

"I can take first or last watch, as anyone prefers."

With her blanket laid out impeccably smoothly atop her bedroll and three candles set in a triangle surrounding her bevy of holy symbols next to the pillow, she stood again and examined the space, adjusting one candle a few millimeters to the left. He pulled his bedroll from his pack and offered it to Malka to use as a pillow. He didn't really care for it, anyway. It was too soft, and he slept better on the floor, curled on his side.

As the group settled down to rest for the "night," he leaned back against the wall, eyes locked on the moving bed. He wondered where its head was, as that would be the thing he'd smash first. If it gave them trouble. He slid down toward the floor, legs extended out, Tolgy's sword on his lap. His eyelids grew heavy and his head tilted to the side. He snored softly as he slept. He dreamed of stars.

“I'm fine with second watch.” Camrad said as he layed out his bedroll. As it unfurled, a cloud of dirt and pine needles was kicked up, which soon coated a sizable portion of the floor that the avid woodsman had claimed. He grinned sheepishly, admiring his handiwork. “Guess I brought a bit of nature with me.”

Action 1

Zaken was sat on the floor trying to fix LEEK when the incident with Seven happened. He dropped a couple tools before he realized that there was no real danger. He sighed and then returned to his duties. After a couple minutes he gave. Val is not going to be happy that we are not returning for dinner... He then ate one of his rations and it tasted terrible compared to the delicious pies that Val had for sure made to their dinner.

Action 2

"I'll take the last watch then... after all I'll need some time to fix LEEK in the morning. He is not in a good shape and my head is hurting right now." Zaken ordered LEEK to 'sit down' and he used one of his arms as a 'pillow'. "Hey LEEK! Speep mode... no humming, ok?" Without a bip the construct remained silent, with only a small light coming from his interior at constant intervals.

Action 1:

Malka sat up and groaned. There was a stabbing pain behind her left eye and she rubbed her temple to try and ease the discomfort.

It only seemed to get worse as she slowly got to her feet. She tried to think about how best to make herself feel better but found it hard to focus. While the others packed their things she sat back down, closed her eyes, and massaged her temples.

Why do you hate me? :)

Action 1

Jeyne's allotted time of rest had come to its end; instantly her mind switched from rest to wakefulness, as always it had when she'd gotten the sleep she required. Sitting up, she began to pack up her sleeping space, rolling everything neatly and tucking it into its assigned space in her bag, when suddenly she noticed Malka's apparent distress. What is it, Malka? Do you require aid?

She reached out to help Malka up and caught a glimpse of her arm, where a huge gash still lay wide open; she could just make out tiny fibers sticking out of the edges of the skin where bioelectric circuitry had been torn and was exposed to the air. Deftly she pinched the sides of the wound together, murmuring a Kelish invocation to Sarenrae as her hand passed over. My magic seems insufficient to deal with the threats we face by itself; perhaps I will see if anyone in town has some prayer scrolls when next we return.

Action 1

"Malka's hurt? Did the bad thing cut you??"

Seven was an all fours beside her, scrutinizing her with both eyes trying to find the source of the hurt. There was no blood. At least, not hers.

He offered her his waterskin and a trail ration. He was real worried. He turned to The Jeyne, remembering the way she could make hurts go away. "Can you fix her?". He got up and started the slow process of dressing up in Tolgy's gear, strapping buckles and tying cords. Gosh, he hated clothes.

Action 2

Seven approached each of the funny doors real slow, kicking in each one in turn to check for jinkins or automoms or anything else that might try to hurt them. Instead, he only found little wells of water. He noted that his water was running low. He carefully dipped a finger in one of them and brought it to his mouth. It tasted fine. He gently filled his waterskin to the brim, taking a satisfying gulp.

Behind the last door, there was an open area with a funny metal nozel near the ceiling. Below it, on the wall, was some kind of handle. Might be another door, he thought, before walking up and turning it. A jet of ice cold water shot out from the nozel, soaking his head and causing him to yell out in alarm. He jerked back, tripping over his own feet and crashing into the wall behind him. The water contiued to rain down, and he had an awful time maneuvering around it to reach the handle and shut it off. He emerged, dripping and shivering. "Uh...I was thirsty," he mumbled, hoping no one noticed.
