It would appear then that it is still active, like the one that attacked Val earlier. So long as we do not provoke or approach it, it should not prove problematic." Of course, our mission takes us past the machine, which does prove problematic... "So, then, we have established that the glaucite wall is in fact a buried vessel of some sort, and that some of its guardians are yet active. I presume the one that Khonnir returned with previously was another guardian, set upon the outer door, perhaps. This gives us much to consider. It seems we now have two options - engage the machine or return to Val with our findings and face the guardian later."

Action 2 Camrad didn't know what to make of the strange cards. They were light, like paper, but stiff as metal and felt oddly smooth to the touch. Remind me again why this stuff is useful. he wanted to say, but had no desire to offend the skulks so he merely shrugged and handed the cards to Zaken. “Why don't one of you hold on to these.” Camrad said, turning his gaze to the metal wall. “This stuff is beyond me.” Tag Jeyne, Malka or Zaken. The dark places of the world are no place to die no matter where you're from. Action 3 Camrad wasn't surprised at Seven's reaction. This place was an unnatural thing, created either by man or monstrosity and on any other day Camrad would have wanted nothing to do with it. But circumstances had changed and he would not be denied. Still, Camrad couldn't help but share Seven's trepidation. How crazy do you have to be to surround yourself with so much suffocating metal? he thought, but his ponderings were cut short when he sighted the rusted golem. As Malka did her magic Seven saw the thing lurch aggressively. He knew it was going trying to hurt her, just like the other thing had hurt Val, and he wasn't going to let that happen. That's how Pathfinder works. ;) It seemed that Camrad and Seven may have already taken care of the robot...but to be certain, Jeyne retrieved the net she had carefully re-folded after the fight with the jinkins. The robot is calling for aid! It is possible more - But then Jeyne noticed something concerning: before, she had only recognized her words being garbled into Androffan as she spoke. Now, she realized that the difficulty went both ways. While she could understand the robot's speech readily, her companions' speech came through as only static, though she could see their lips moving... It seems I require further analysis, more than I recognized. But it seemed that her difficulties mostly arose in times of danger; the only way to alleviate the issue for now was to take care of the danger. Pulling a vial of alchemical fire from the bandolier at her chest, she hurled it forward, hoping to hit the robot without harming her allies too badly... The whirling drill buzzed as it found a space in Seven's armor and mercilessly bore into his torso. His blood splattered the robot, coating it in a crimson sheen. He screamed in pain, reflexively pulling himself back and causing the drill to rip and tear further. The voice did not like that. Not one bit. It took control now, and Seven was glad for it, for he was now very tired. His vision blurred and refocused, the world once again awash in gray. Except for the thing. It took on a pronounced shade of red, like his blood. The voice willed his arms to raise, grip his sword like an enormous dagger, then bring it down swiftly, impaling the thing through its "head." Seven coughed, spitting blood.

Remember we still have swim fins if anyone needs them. I didn't. ;) It seemed previous exposure to the smell of the water had rendered Jeyne's systems immune, at least for a time. She tied her equipment to a rope and strung the rope through the cave as before; the swim was still not easy, but familiarity helped some, and she was able to make it through the long tunnel without major incident, splashing to the surface just behind Seven. Once everyone had made the swim, she pulled her backpack through and re-settled it on her shoulders, remembering as she did part of its contents - the swim fins she had purchased that morning. He stepped aside and allowed Malka and Jeyne to administer healing. “Ha! Yer a stubborn one, ya know that?” Camrad said, finding a flat spot on the robot to sit on and his expression grew grave. “You could have died if that fight went on any longer.”

Actions 1: Malka could understand the councilwoman's concern about Khonnir. "We plan to return tomorrow so hopefully the challenges we faced today will not be an issue tomorrow. This will mean we can make better progress in finding Councilman Baine." Malka paused before asking, "Can you please reiterate who has gone into the tunnels? Perhaps descriptions? The skulks whom we ran into described numerous groups of people, some of which sounded unfamiliar." tag Dolga Action 2: Malka wolfed down the meal that Val prepared for them. After everything they had been through that day, she was a lot hungrier than she'd realized. With food in her mouth, it also made certain that someone else would answer Val when she asked about her dad. The wizard considered going back to the place she called home in Torch but thought it better if she stayed at Val's along with the others. "Uh, but he's probably just exploring." Tag Val After dinner, Seven prepared to go. He thought of the hut Garritt had rented him on the edge of the junkyard. It was a small ramshackle thing made of tin, and it was full of holes that let the wind whistle through at night. But if he laid his head just right he could spy out of one such space in the roof and see the stars. That helped him sleep. Plus, no one bothered him there. Except Garritt. Then Malka spoke up, stating she would stay at the inn. That was okay, for they always kept separate beds. But then The Other Zacken spoke up, too, asking to stay also. That was not. "And me!" Camrad spent the rest of the night in relative silence, speaking only when prompted by another. When he was alone in his room he opened the window, feeling the cool night breeze as he opened the Parables of Erastil. There he stood, reading by the window, basking in the moonlight and reciting the sacred commandments of Erastil. He knew them all by heart, but still he felt the need to read it for himself, as if doing so filled him with strength. Something tells me we won't like what we find in that metal tomb. We had word that he was seen to enter a buried vessel, and that the cave-dwellers we met had no intention of harming him." Jeyne omitted the part where Khonnir may have earned his safety by the skulks' deaths; while she pragmatically understood its necessity, Val might not. She took her customary gruel of milled grains, milk, and fruit; Val complained it was bland when she tried it, but it was superior nutritionally, Jeyne insisted. Nothing that would cause any detriment to health. Once the meal was complete, Jeyne returned to her usual upstairs corner room, the room she had called home for near fifteen years. Lying down on her hard cot, she was asleep in an instant, no worries or cares keeping her from her rest - for she'd never known worry.
