Seven could only stare in wonder as Camrad's arrow caused the bad man to catch fire. What would Tolgy say about that? he wondered, imaging the dwarf cackling in glee. "What was that?" he asked Camrad. Tag Camrad.

While the others examined the pictures on the wall, he poked around the charred remains of the body searching body. Too many arms. He counted, slowly: ...three...four. "Four arms!" he declared proudly, in case anyone hadn't noticed.

Seven moved fast to grab the swords. They were little, but sure were sharp. He compared them to his own weapon. While nice and shiny, they seemed sort of small. Plus, they weren't Tolgy's. He'd stick with his sword. The little black card would get the others excited, he knew. He wondered if it was flavored, but decided against biting into it. Come to think of it... He rummaged through his pack for a snack. consuming trail ration.

Then there was the cape. It seemed real nice. He wasn't quite used to wearing so many clothes and armor all the time, but Tolgy and Malka kept telling him it was important, so he did.

As soon as Camrad neutralized the threat in such an impressive way, Malka was moving towards Seven. She dug out her cure potion and handed it to Seven. "I think you have used all of yours. Here take mine." She also pulled out her first aide kit and did what she could to bandage his many cuts. When she washed the cuts with an antiseptic, which was just really strong alcohol, she warned Seven, "This may sting but it will make sure the wound does not get infected."

Jeyne examined the pile critically; a silver mist crossed over her irises, and she picked up each item in turn. "No sign of magic influence on the swords. Or the card - I would imagine it is another access card, like the others. There are abjurative magics on the cloak, though...I cannot tell precisely what they are meant to ward against, but it does have protective qualities."

And the phenomenon is accompanied by visual changes as well, almost a crystallization of the visual input, and aural interference. A malfunction in my bioelectrical circuitry, perhaps." She discussed the unknown issue in the same tone of voice with which she had described the swords moments before. "Careful of the fungus - it could be similar to that we found in the cavern outside the craft." Jeyne moved through the room carefully, watching as the equipment flashed near-indecipherable words and blurry images. "Malka...it seems whoever piloted this craft was familiar with creatures like your companion." She pointed to the screen as another image of Blu's relative flashed across it.

Can I understand any of the words flashing?

When the locked security bin was pointed out, Jeyne shifted her attention to it, staring intently at what she presumed to be its access panel. "Perhaps if I..." she started, but her words trailed off as the device began to absorb her attention fully. Her thumbs flashed across the panel, hoping to decipher its operating mechanism.

Seven walked alongside Malka, glancing warily around the big metal rooms. The look of this place was all too familiar to him and put him on edge. To him, it seemed they were only going deeper underground, and if Malka hadn't wanted to looking for Counsel Mintbane, he would never have come this far on his own. Still, the presence of Malka and the others was some comfort, and so he tried to be still and make some sense of all the lights.

The blood made him pause. He bent and ran a finger through it, trying to determine its age.

Malka and Seven had spent so much time together that Malka could tell that this environment was stressing him. Besides, you have me now and a few other friends who will not let anyone hurt you like before."

Malka quickly made her way over to Jeyne as she spoke. Blu's head perked up as he saw the images and Malka could feel his excitement. She tried to redirect his attention to the humanoid pictures with four arms to see if the images evoked fear. When the pictures became garbled, Malka instinctively tapped on the screen to see if they would reform. She found that sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. "It does seem like we found the origins of Blu's kind."

Fabian, does Blu have a negative reaction to the humanoids with 4 arms?

Yes, he does. It seemed like the four-armed humanoids hunted the petromin for flesh and fur.

When Blu saw a picture of a four-armed humanoid replace that of another petromin, he immediately buried his face in Malka's neck and projected thoughts of fear and being pursued into her mind. Got it, boss.

When her efforts to open the bin proved in vain, Jeyne turned to the others, the bin still in one hand and the batteries and e-pick just discovered in the lockers in the other. "My efforts so far to open this have proven unfruitful. I can use this device to aid my efforts, but it will require power from the batteries, and being able to regain that charge is not a certainty. Do you wish me to proceed?" Her focus returned to the bin's panel, and she looked it over again, searching for some step she may have missed.

If everyone's cool with it, I'll use the black e-pick and a battery charge to try again to open the bin.

Just as a side note I generally rule against taking 10 on Knowledge checks because it makes no sense to me... when you take 10 on a skill is assumes you have time to do it and no immediate danger so you can take it easy and do it, but if my PC has never heard about New Caledonian Crows before, taking 10 on knowledge (nature), even if it is an easy check, I'd never recognize one, with danger or not! We saw probably three big stains of blood on the entrance of the corridor, suggesting a fight against the automatons and then strange stains that could suggest the bodies were dragged to this room... perhaps the survivors took their wounded here to threat their wounds and then used this room as a base of operations, so they cleaned it..."

This information came from looking the map!

"In a forgotten cave and these are my friends... WAIT! Why am I asking this myself? No, I'm not the one asking this..." "...Holy crap, is that rotten melon, talking in my head?"

Action 3

"Sure... why not, creepy thing..." Zaken then moved and opened the door to the corridor. "Feel free to go there... you'll be pretty satisfied..."

Action 2

It smelled awful. Seven's first instinct was to smash the thing when it fell. He hardly noticed when the voice spoke in his head. He was so used to the whispering that it barely registered. But the other voice, the bad voice, it knew immediately. Seven could tell because it had shut up, crawling back into that imaginary space behind his eye and listening, apprehensive, as the new voice spoke. He paused.

This voice was different. It wasn't mean and nasty, for one thing, and it wasn't telling him to do bad bad things. He ran his hand through his hair, trying to find the spot where this one lived, but it seemed to be everywhere all at once. He looked at the others to see if they heard it too. Sure enough, they all looked surprised. He figured he'd talk back.

I, uh, guess you're...in my head, Seven thought as he lowered his sword, unsure what to say. Do you live there, too? I'm Seven. That's my name. Memories of the Doctors, Malka, Zacken, The Jeyne, and Camrad calling him 'Seven' began to unfold. Then the voice talked again. This is, uhh, an underground place. Have you seen Counsel Mintbane?

Action 3
Seven knew what it meant to be hungry. Though he had plenty to eat these days, there were plenty of others when he didn't. But he also knew that the thing meant blood, and he knew it might be dangerous. Thankfully, Zacken had a good idea, and Seven waited to hear the thing's reaction.

But then he had another question, a real important one. His hand tightened on his weapon. Are you a...friend?

Malka picked up the suit and felt the fabric. "I have seen something similar before. It is actually armor even though it is not metal." She gingerly picked up the stun gun and turned it over. She thought back to the guards at the Technic League and shuddered at the memory. "I have seen these used before. It is mainly used to incapacitate a foe because it is nonlethal. It gives a jolt of electricity at short range which overwhelms the body and causes them to fall prone."

Action 2:

Malka recoiled in disgust as the bulb with a huge mouth dropped from the ceiling. When an intelligent voice sounded in her head, she looked around in surprise with wide eyes, trying to find the source. It took only a moment to realize that it was the creature. Malka didn't like having her mind invaded and tried to shut it out. Once she began thinking about what may be capable of telepathy, she realized that it was a Cerebric Fungus and she took a step back to keep her distance.

Is there anything Malka can do to block the telepathy?

Instead of answering the creature's questions by her thoughts, she asked her own out loud. "Where do you remember being if you do not know where you are now?

Once the fungus had moved away from the group, (assuming it does) Malka shared with the others what kind of creature it was and that it was carniverous. "I would also keep your distance from its tendrils."

Sorry, got blindsided by how busy my weekend was. Back to it!

Action 1

Yes, it seems sensible for you to carry the grenades, Zaken. Jeyne took the stun gun in hand and looked it over; while she couldn't shake the feeling that at least one of her pasts had carried such a weapon, it felt unfamiliar in her hands. The gun seems a valuable tool, but I do not trust myself to control it well enough to make use of it. Does anyone else think themselves able? Tag everyone.

Action 2

Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Jeyne was accustomed to hearing voices not her own in her head...but this one was different. Alien, and the creature it came from was unusual as well. Still, it had shown no malice as of yet. Curiosity was no major affront. [You are on a crashed vessel, likely very old. We think it came from a planet called Kasath, but now it is on a planet called Golarion. We were curious about the vessel, so we came to look at it. What brought you here?]

[Cerebric fungus: a carnivorous, intelligent fungus non-native to Golarion; its mental contact often proves hazardous to those not of its race or homeworld...]

Yet the contact had not proven harmful to her as of yet, and the creature was most definitely intriguing.

Action 3

[As my companion has indicated,] Jeyne thought at the strange creature, uncertain if it was capable of non-telepathic communication, [there is more of the...red food in this other room. It is known to us as blood. If you have been in the ship since its fall, you likely have been deprived for some time...do you require the red food for sustenance, or is it merely pleasurable for you to consume?]

Camrad clutched his head as the fungus invaded his thoughts. “Ugh, get outta my head.” He said aloud. Heard rumors ‘bout yer kind and I can't say they were ‘specially flatterin’.

Action 3

Red food? Guess it means blood. Camrad thought as he turned to his companions. “I don't think we should do it. Somethin’ tells me nothin’ good will come from givin’ this thing more food.” he said, preparing to pull out his longbow if necessary.

non-game stuff:

Hi all,

I've recently taken up my hand at GMing and am enjoying it. I'm looking to start a Beginner Box campaign for people new to PbP. If you know someone who's a relative newbie either to Pathfinder or play-by-post, please send them to the recruitment thread. Thanks!
