GM - if we critically hit, do we get the multiplied damage and the card or a choice of the two or does the card just replace the multiplier altogether?

You get the multiplied damage and the crit card. You will never do less damage than vanilla rules, so the cards will always help you (unless the card isn't relevant to the particular situation)

AC 18, touch 14, flat-footed 14 (+4 armor, +4 Dex) | HP 43/43 | Fort +6, Ref +6, Will +6 (+2 vs Enchantment) | Str 10, Dex 18, Con 12, Int 17, Wis 12, Cha 8 | Perc +9 | Base Atk +3; CMB 7; CMD 17

Sounds good!

Also, boards are very temperamental for me at the moment so I would recommend copying your posts before you submit or using the Lazarus Chrome Extension to recover lost posts :)

Yeah, preview posts is not working. And I have to use that a lot with reacting to dice rolls. So don't read anything I have written unless it is >5 minutes old cause I'll have to edit it a lot. :)

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Half-Elf Cleric 3/Wizard 2 | HP 36/39 | AC 16 Touch 12 FF 14 CMD 11 | F+7 R+4 W+7* | Init +4* | Per +10, Low-Light Vision, Blind-Fight | Buffs: heightened awareness, 50m; protection from evil, 5m | Conditions: none

I recently added the Lazarus extension to my browser and my gods is that a lifesaver! A+++ Highly recommend Would buy for free again!

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Updated my guy to have the stats, did I miss anything?

looks good-- see Zeke above you... if you do pick up a buff or condition, put it in there too.

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Got it. Also, I saw the part of words not being spelled correctly-I was doing that intentionally when he talks, as part of thee accent. That ok?

Garfaulk Sharpstone wrote:

oh yeah, I knew what you were doing.

garfaulk, let's say your javelins are always ok unless you shoot it off a cliff or something like that

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Duly noted! I take it a misfire with the fire lance would probably also destroy the ammo as well though, yes?

That makes sense! But you'll NEVER get a misfire, right?

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

oh heavens no! My mini representation looking like he's on fire is pure coincidence!

Human Barbarian !Rage! hp 84/84 | F+12(+16) R+3(+7) W+5(+7) | DR 2 | AC 17, T 11, FF 18 (+7 armor, +1 Dex, +1 Nat, -2 RA) | Init +3 | Perc 9 | CMB +12; CMD 23 | Debuff: | Rage 16/16

That was a fun first fight, I hope it doesn't set Wulf up for fumbling constantly. Although that could be pretty funny.

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

So attempting to fix the hammer-looking through the Craft skill, it seems Craft (Firearms) isn't really a thing. It's mostly Craft Weapons, Bows, and the "Varies" section. Can I use my skills at shaping metal to make my firearms to instead fix the hammer? Or is it just a straight intelligence check?

Human Barbarian !Rage! hp 84/84 | F+12(+16) R+3(+7) W+5(+7) | DR 2 | AC 17, T 11, FF 18 (+7 armor, +1 Dex, +1 Nat, -2 RA) | Init +3 | Perc 9 | CMB +12; CMD 23 | Debuff: | Rage 16/16

I would be very appreciative if you could fix it otherwise, it'd have to get one of these out of work smiths to help me.

Just so people know 'Foil' is used as an insult for my silver specked skin. He don't like it.

Half-Elf Cleric 3/Wizard 2 | HP 36/39 | AC 16 Touch 12 FF 14 CMD 11 | F+7 R+4 W+7* | Init +4* | Per +10, Low-Light Vision, Blind-Fight | Buffs: heightened awareness, 50m; protection from evil, 5m | Conditions: none

Zeke didn't prepare mending today but he could do it tomorrow.

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Doh-I forgot, I have mending. We should be covered :)

For sake of argument, the earth breaker has 10 HP I believe. Given that the weapon is broken, that means it now has over 50% of its HP gone, so it is now 4. Just giving one HP to it will fix the broken condition, but more is better obviously in case it gets sundered again.

Oh right, mending is level 0 and the bard can cast it infinitely. Sheesh that is powerful.

AC 18, touch 14, flat-footed 14 (+4 armor, +4 Dex) | HP 43/43 | Fort +6, Ref +6, Will +6 (+2 vs Enchantment) | Str 10, Dex 18, Con 12, Int 17, Wis 12, Cha 8 | Perc +9 | Base Atk +3; CMB 7; CMD 17

Hi Varrad :)

Half-Elf Cleric 3/Wizard 2 | HP 36/39 | AC 16 Touch 12 FF 14 CMD 11 | F+7 R+4 W+7* | Init +4* | Per +10, Low-Light Vision, Blind-Fight | Buffs: heightened awareness, 50m; protection from evil, 5m | Conditions: none

That spell is essential for any would-be gunslingers, to deal with misfires without the Quick Clear deed, though I note that it has a ten minute casting time. For combat misfires, I like jury-rig. :)

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Sooooooooo mending is lb/level. I'm pretty sure the hammer weighs more than a lb. My previous question still stands-can I use my craft firearms check to fix it since it is a similar material but a simpler weapon?

Or, conversely, cast the spell 5 times to effect 5 lbs worth of material.

Right, let's say you can do either. Magic or dwarven know-how, you can play either one out as it interests you. You can take a 20 on the craft check since you have a great foundry and the rest of the evening to do it.

lol, Zeke, your post just now made me laugh.

I was giving you an excuse not to waste your spells but I like how you just did it anyway. Good roll, too.

Half-Elf Cleric 3/Wizard 2 | HP 36/39 | AC 16 Touch 12 FF 14 CMD 11 | F+7 R+4 W+7* | Init +4* | Per +10, Low-Light Vision, Blind-Fight | Buffs: heightened awareness, 50m; protection from evil, 5m | Conditions: none

Thanks. :) I figure I've gotta cement Zeke's relationship with Val pretty quickly as it seems like she's not coming with us.

I gotta say, it hadn't occurred to me to open a window either. But where Zeke would have raced around trying to find a door, Wulf just burst through. Really fun character note, and I hope you're not feeling punished for doing that just because the dice gods were unkind. :)

Human Barbarian !Rage! hp 84/84 | F+12(+16) R+3(+7) W+5(+7) | DR 2 | AC 17, T 11, FF 18 (+7 armor, +1 Dex, +1 Nat, -2 RA) | Init +3 | Perc 9 | CMB +12; CMD 23 | Debuff: | Rage 16/16

I don't feel punished at all, I like that it got to this point really enjoyed it. Wulf is incredibly rash only really stopping to consider what Ton is doing since they have spent a lot of time today and he kind feels he's got to protect him after their history.

When I posted last night I remembered I was still bleeding and was going to bring it up in the morning. I laughed when Mustache remembered and did something about all my blood leaving my body. It seemed like a good end to it all as well. Soften the mood a bit.

After those dice rolls, all 20's are in my future.

Anything that doesn't kill you... builds character. right?

Half-Elf Cleric 3/Wizard 2 | HP 36/39 | AC 16 Touch 12 FF 14 CMD 11 | F+7 R+4 W+7* | Init +4* | Per +10, Low-Light Vision, Blind-Fight | Buffs: heightened awareness, 50m; protection from evil, 5m | Conditions: none

Would have been pretty ironic for Wulf to have been killed by an inanimate object.

Varrad, remember to write in present tense-- I wasn't sure if you wrote in the past tense because you were referring to the action a few posts previously, or if you are just used to writing in the past tense. So anyway. Maybe I'm anal but just setting expectations early rather than trying to correct everything wrong a month from now.

Love things so far.

The inevitable Blade Runner references have begun :)

I was doing past tense to summarize what he was replying to. Just so there wasn't confusion on where his attention span was going. And where he sees things since he has a toddler's ability to actually understand things. Like Wulf being a pet. Sorry.

Bard 4/Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) 1 | HP 46/46 | AC 17 T 13 (15v Firearms) FF 14 | CMB +3, CMD 13 | F: +5, R: +8, W: +4 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6 | Grit 3/"4" (Max is normally 3) Speed 20ft

Wulf, yes I fixed your hammer

No problem, I get it now. Varrad, it make take quite a few back and forths to accomplish what we need to-- maybe we can do a bunch of quick replies to each in game. I am available to do that starting in the next hour or so.

Male Android Inquisitor 1 | HP 7/10 | AC 17 Touch 14 FF 14 CMD 15 | F+3 R+3 W+4 | Init +3 | Per +8, Low-Light/Darkvision Inquisitor

I'm game. I'll keep checking back. Got a lazy day ahead except for walking the dog who's now complaining at me. Shouldn't take that long, though.

Male Android Inquisitor 1 | HP 7/10 | AC 17 Touch 14 FF 14 CMD 15 | F+3 R+3 W+4 | Init +3 | Per +8, Low-Light/Darkvision Inquisitor

Sorry all. Got a call about a family member's health. Been spotty since then, but I should be back in later today.

I was gone most of today too. I'm going to wait to see if Wulf is willing to drink the Numerian Fluids. If he says no, I will move the action along and you will be spelunking tomorrow.

Human Barbarian !Rage! hp 84/84 | F+12(+16) R+3(+7) W+5(+7) | DR 2 | AC 17, T 11, FF 18 (+7 armor, +1 Dex, +1 Nat, -2 RA) | Init +3 | Perc 9 | CMB +12; CMD 23 | Debuff: | Rage 16/16

Sorry for the delay, I was pretty busy last night and only just getting around to posting.

In a little bit of shock that Garfaulk rolled a 100 on the Numerian fluids. 100! That is crazy. The stuff straight out kills you if you roll a 1. 100 gives you a permanent effect. I would have liked to see you grow wings or become a mutant, but the gem of brightness effect is pretty awesome.

Human Barbarian !Rage! hp 84/84 | F+12(+16) R+3(+7) W+5(+7) | DR 2 | AC 17, T 11, FF 18 (+7 armor, +1 Dex, +1 Nat, -2 RA) | Init +3 | Perc 9 | CMB +12; CMD 23 | Debuff: | Rage 16/16

Oh I was pretty close to a 1. It will be interesting on how this turns out for Wulf.

10 successes as a group or individually?

as a group. same with fails...

Ok sounds good. Would you mind posting these in the Campaign Info tab if skill mini-games are going to be part of the campaign or will you repost them on each occasion?

Male Android Inquisitor 1 | HP 7/10 | AC 17 Touch 14 FF 14 CMD 15 | F+3 R+3 W+4 | Init +3 | Per +8, Low-Light/Darkvision Inquisitor

Saga edition skill challenges. Bring it on.

Varrad wrote:

Huh, didn't even know what saga edition was, had to look it up. But I got the idea from watching GM'ing tips on youtube. Nothing new under the sun!

Yeah I will plan on posting something very similar each time.

Male Android Inquisitor 1 | HP 7/10 | AC 17 Touch 14 FF 14 CMD 15 | F+3 R+3 W+4 | Init +3 | Per +8, Low-Light/Darkvision Inquisitor

Saga Edition had skill challenges. I remember being in a game where the Jedi had built himself so his Use the Force skill was ALL his skills. So he was screwed during skill challenges.

Also I forgot Bless is a moral bonus. So Varrad does not benefit.

Right. Good catch.

Inspire Courage is a competence bonus so everyone gets that and it stacks with bless. (Probably pointing out the obvious but I looked it up just to be sure. :) )

I like watching Matt Colville on YouTube- his GM'ing tips are good. He had a video about skill challenges so I adopted it. Without watching it again, I do think he attributed them to Star Wars actually.
