Ranzak has Sacred Candle in hand and so plan on getting first AD 3 or 4 Blessing that is revealed. Please keep in mind that blessing can be obtained before or after you do your explores and the like in case it matters if you want the benefits of the current or prior blessing.
Also, I have corrosion spell in hand if someone wants to cycle.

Just a strategy note: If we lose the other rum bottle, I still have a good shot of defeating villain w/ my fists. Combat check would be 35, but I only need a 30 if I bury Red Leathers after the roll. This is what I roll with two blessings (or one buried Lamashtu) and a decent Viridio display:
1d8+1d6+1d4+6+2d8+2d6+3=3d8+3d6+1d4+9 (88% chance of success on DC 30)

Here's a possible suggestion for closing out the scenario. Note: With one rum bottle salvaged, villain is a 30 or 33, depending if BoG is top card of blessing discard.
The plan:
- folks do whatever they like on their next turn (turns 9-11), except someone needs to grab Item 3 from top of Docks -
My next turn (turn 12): kill Anemone (get free Viridio display from invoking poison), explore again and kill henchman w/ display that I just received (may need 1 blessing?). This assumes someone clears out the top card (item 3) of Docks first.
- everyone will have been dragged to Docks because of henchman BYA check, so everyone repositions themselves to temp close on turns 13-15 -
The following turn (turn 16?): kill villain w/ 2 blessings. Anydice tells me that I have a 96% chance of rolling a 28 with two blessings, which becomes a 33 w/ buried Leathers.

I will take the other Item 3 (Ranzak having taken the first).
I'm dropping my (cool but neglected) Red Carriage, replacing it with Wayfinder, which is just more useful.

A fun update: We narrowly avoided a total party kill in our current Cosmic Captive scenario. My Grazzle will have healed 30 cards by scenario's end, including 11 on my upcoming turn.
So, I would disagree with the person who mentioned that CC might be playable without a dedicated healer. :)

So, I would disagree with the person who mentioned that CC might be playable without a dedicated healer. :)
I wasn't aware how deadly the special is but thought we needed a healer and since I already have 2 I really didn't want to make another one yet. I am so glad I took spell as card feat adding a 2nd cure before starting it up. One character almost died already and healing wasn't going to help much when a monster has BYA bury cards from top of your deck and then discard hand if you don't succeed.

To clarify the scenario power, while closing one half of a location empties the other half, it does not close the other half. You'll need to do the When Closing twice to fully close out each half.

I just used emerald of dexterity for strength rolling dexterity. I seem to recall something mentioned that rules for using dice changed. I made the check either way but if my strength is a d4 and dex is d10+3 and use emerald do I still roll 1d10 and not 1d10+3?

Stat stones still just replace the die, AFAIK. But, I am not recalling the discussion you refer to about a change.
FAQ has an update from last month. Here is the link Has to do with skills but a different area it seems.

Grazzle only has one item and Binder's Tome is just too usefulGrazzle can heal everyone else as he gets great leverage (discard 1 card = Heal 2). You can then heal Grazzle :-)

Keen-eyed Radovan notice that even after temp-closing (which, weirdly, the rules say occur "before encountering the villain" - no matter though, evading is after when-encountered effects in any case) Celeste can use Mistmourn's commanding ability to evade the villain at the cost of just 1 blessing off the blessings deck.
Radovan and Celeste are in favor. All say aye?

Nice job everyone.
That was 5.2 for me, so I get a power feat: hand size increased to 6.
There are at least two weapon 5's available, so I'll grab one. Taking out Menacing Backsword, putting in Vampiric Backsword +3 (after defeating monster, lets me recharge random card from discard if I put on top of my deck).
Note: Brine's Sting is now replacing Captain's Cutlass.

Thanks for the Spell 5. Dropping a subpar Attack spell (Sphere of Fire), replacing with Spite Cloud. Despite having "cloud" in its name, this is a solo Attack spell, not a buff (Arcane+4d6+Acid, can use result for all Combat checks vs same monster)
