Also, Kasmir is going up one tier to tier 3. I just found out that tier advancement is required after the 6th scenario. My bad.

Scarab Sages

Woohoo!! More games!
Definately keen to play
May swap Yoon out but will look at the line up and teir when we restart

Female Human (Bl3or4) | 3 Die Bumps | My Deck Handler Tier 4 Troublemaker Bard / UC (12789-1002)

For the loot 2 item, Bekah's choice is the following order:
1. Svingli's Eye
2. buccaneer's breastplate
3. Brine's Sting

Bekah will put her hat in for the tricorne for the tier 1 loot should I not get the eye.

Ok, I am think of switching out Yoon for Damiel. Will solo him up to tier 2.
Everyone ok with the character change?
When does he need to be ready to go?

STR d8 | DEX d8 (Disable +2; Stealth +2; Acro +2 w/ Quang) | CON d8 (Fort +2 w/ Norge) | INT d4 | WIS d6 | CHA d8 (Diplo +2; Percep +2 w/ Viridio)

Sounds fun. Radovan is ready whenever the group is ready.

Hi everyone. I am gearing up for a crazy month and I need to leave the game til my schedule will give me more time.

Thanks for letting me play with you guys!

STR d8 | DEX d8 (Disable +2; Stealth +2; Acro +2 w/ Quang) | CON d8 (Fort +2 w/ Norge) | INT d4 | WIS d6 | CHA d8 (Diplo +2; Percep +2 w/ Viridio)

Thanks for all the heals! :) Good luck!

Female Human (Bl3or4) | 3 Die Bumps | My Deck Handler Tier 4 Troublemaker Bard / UC (12789-1002)

khazkhaz,
We should try and ping you after finishing the next scenario and see if you have availability.

Others,
At the moment, I know of everyone's disposition for this game with the exception of Celeste/elcoderdude whom I just sent a PM.
I think we should try and iron out tier 1 (tricorne and harpoon) and tier 2 loot as well as starting order.

Here is one proposed order:

Radovan/wkover
Bekah/Zalarian
Balazar/theGreatNateO
Celeste/elcoderdude
Grazzle/Matsu Kurisu (requested to Go last)

STR d8 | DEX d8 (Disable +2; Stealth +2; Acro +2 w/ Quang) | CON d8 (Fort +2 w/ Norge) | INT d4 | WIS d6 | CHA d8 (Diplo +2; Percep +2 w/ Viridio)

Brine's Sting is my only loot interest. Turn order looks fine.

Male

I'm fine with any starting order.
Available loot for swapping:
AD1
Besmara's Tricorne (I)
Helps Con/Fort/Wis/Survival (including Combat).
Vindictive Harpoon(W)
d6+1/bury +2d6 Dex weapon. +d8 vs Aquatic.
AD2
Brine's Sting(W)
2d4+2/discard +2d4 Str weapon. reroll vs Aquatic. -4 w/o proficiency
Buccaneer's Breastplate(Ar)
Heavy. Reveal -3 Combat OR -1 Structural(!). Banish/bury if prof to reduce all damage to 0.
Farglass(I)
Reveal +d6 Perception. Discard examine 2 of any deck & rearrange (recharge if you reveal Pirate)
Lady Agasta Smythee (Al)
Reveal to recharge any number of cards (including her), +2/card to your combat check
Rickety Hake (Al)
Bury to repair ship. Discard +10 your Craft check. Discard explore.
Svingli's Eye (I)
Recharge to examine your location. Discard +d4+2 to any check on ship; if discard is Gods, +d8+2 instead. Survival 9 to recharge instead of discarding.
Totem Necklace (I) - Discard +die check to defeat Aquatic Monster at your location, or +2 dice if Merfolk. Bury to draw random item from box

Someone should take Breastplate and Rickety Hake, since we aren't great at fixing ships.
Celeste asks for:
Svingli's Eye - I've a 50/50 chance to recharge.
I'll take Hake if no one else does.
I figure Bekah will normally take the Tricorne, but I may ask to take it if a scenario has numerous Survival checks.

Female Human (Bl3or4) | 3 Die Bumps | My Deck Handler Tier 4 Troublemaker Bard / UC (12789-1002)

It looks like we get to each pick only one of the AD2 loot items. Based on this and what elcoderdude wrote, Bekah will take the Tricorne and defer the eye to Celeste. I will pick my AD 2 loot item last since I will have the Tricorne.

Male

Zalarian's correct in that you can only choose 1 AD2 loot (this is the AD2 adventure reward, so you have to have completed AD2) and/or 1 AD1 loot.

Given that, Celeste will take Svingli's Eye as her one AD2 loot -- except if no one else wants Rickety Hake, I'll take him instead.

STR d8 | DEX d8 (Disable +2; Stealth +2; Acro +2 w/ Quang) | CON d8 (Fort +2 w/ Norge) | INT d4 | WIS d6 | CHA d8 (Diplo +2; Percep +2 w/ Viridio)

Have we heard from Nate/Balazar yet? Looks like we're about ready to start.

Male Gnome | (Ally 5, Blessing 5) | Tier 5 Summoner | 7 Hero Points | My Deck Handler

Hi All trying to get stuff ready for the start of the game.

If no objections I will take the Buccaneer's Breastplate and swap out my Gambeson. Not proficient with Heavy Armor, but I'm guessing it will be available at the beginning of each Scenario even if it gets Banished.

Male

Hey Nate - good to see you.

Just note: banishing a loot card banishes the card you swapped out for it (as well as the loot card). At least this is the official rule when last I heard - skizzerz can confirm.

That said - it is true that the loot is available at the start of each scenario even if it was previously banished.

Male Gnome | (Ally 5, Blessing 5) | Tier 5 Summoner | 7 Hero Points | My Deck Handler

That works! The Gambeson is B, Basic so I can add it back from my box then upgrade again to the Breastplate.

Assuming it's not to late since the first turn hasn't been taken, I will actually keep Thieves Tools (which auto-defeats Cryptic Runes). I WAS then going to take Rickety Hake, but he was poached. :)

Hand remains unchanged.

Dude, he wasn't poached. I didn't really want to take him/her but it sounded like group wanted the repair capability. You and I both wanted Eye and I don't think you can have both Eye and Ally so I am a little confused. Did you not take Svingli's Eye as was discussed? I tried to check your deck button but your deck part is empty and I don't see a link to your deck builder.

Male

Hey, I was just joking. :)

You are correct, Hake was free and clear, as originally I choose the Eye as being a generally useful card. When I originally made my loot choice, I had not had a chance to see what we were up against in this scenario.

After seeing the barrier henchman & also the Structural damage, I decided I wanted my Tools & would take Hake. I had overlooked that you already took him, so I actually wrote a post saying I would take him, then thought to double-check he was still free. As the rest of the post you quoted says, I put back the Eye and kept my Tools. No problem at all.

If Skizzerz doesn't mind, I would switch in a heart beat. I don't mind switching out Tricorne as well then but I think that may be a bit much.

Thanks, I appreciate it. But let's not rock the boat any further.* I'm fine as is.

LOL. Skizzerz is fine switching eye and Hake. Once you confirm change on your side in play tab I will swap dilettante back in and swap periapt for eye.

Just checking in on card upgrades and what boons I should be going for.

I'll make a play for any level 3 boons, of course. What about level 2 boons? Spell 2, I'm guessing? Anything else?

Having gone through Absalom, Radovan is fine on upgrades until level 3 cards start appearing.

Female Human (Bl3or4) | 3 Die Bumps | My Deck Handler Tier 4 Troublemaker Bard / UC (12789-1002)

I had all my AD3 things I wanted in my character description for my posts which is everything but armor and once I get my hand size increased I will want that as well. But...I am still tier 2 so I updated to be only Spell 2 and Blessing 2 for the time being.

Liberty's Edge

Grazzle is tier 2.0 so interested in
1* Item 1
1* Spell 2
1* Ally 2
1* Armor 1
3* Blessing - any

Hasn't had many upgrades so far, so almost anything is an improvement :-)

Male

I've no specific upgrades in mind, but in general high-AD spells are great for Celeste.

Just a note that I'll often be late posting on Friday nights - I am divorced & I have one or both of my teens over on Friday. Yesterday I went straight from work to dinner with my eldest before taking him to see the younger teen perform in Fiddler on the Roof. Got home at 11 PM and collapsed. (Great show, though.)

Male

Putting the question to the party: should we seize the Dowager Queen? I vote yes.

Current ship: Thresher
Repair: Craft 6
When Commanding: Reduce Structural damage to this ship by 1. At the start of your turn, you may discard a card from the blessings deck to recharge any number of cards and draw that number of cards.
When Commanding (Wrecked): At the start of the turn, summon and encounter the henchman Hammerhead Shark.

Proposed ship: Dowager Queen
Repair: Craft 6
When Commanding: You may discard a card from the blessings deck to add 1d12 to your check if anyone plays an ally on that check.
When Commanding (Wrecked): The difficulty of your check to acquire an ally is increased by 2.

Con: We lose the 1 Structural damage reduction.
Pro: Wrecking the Dowager Queen causes almost no harm. Wrecking the Thresher is seriously, seriously bad. We would pretty much have to immediately burn blessings to fix it. (I for one cannot afford to fight an extra monster every turn.)
The blessing-discard powers are both useful - I almost never advocate using this in 5-player games, but each could possibly help defeat a villain or henchman.

Liberty's Edge

I vote for keeping the Thresher for the DR. I can't remember EVER allowing a ship to be wrecked in a table I have played in.
Rather be preventative than focus on the afterf damage

I agree it's not a clear-cut choice.

The four-character parties I played S&S with wrecked our ship multiple times. It depends on playstyle & characters, I suppose.

Male

We are at 1-1 in the 'Vote if we ditch Thresher for Dowager Queen'.
I think skizzerz would allow the retcon if two more people are strongly in favor, but in less people chime in, we'll just pass it by. Thanks.

Male

Zalarian, nice turn. It's ridiculous how fast we are closing locations.

NOTE TO ALL: Every character who completed AD1 and AD2 has two die bumps (unless someone used one or both, which I don't recall.) Keep it in mind for those failed-by-one critical rolls.

STR d8 | DEX d8 (Disable +2; Stealth +2; Acro +2 w/ Quang) | CON d8 (Fort +2 w/ Norge) | INT d4 | WIS d6 | CHA d8 (Diplo +2; Percep +2 w/ Viridio)

In Skull and Shackles (played twice), I only remember wrecking our ship once or twice per campaign.

In my recent SotS campaign (ended 2 weeks ago), we only wrecked the ship in the scenarios (one in Adventure 2, one in Adventure 6) where each player has their own ship and is responsible for blocking their own struc damage.

In Tapestry's Tides (Adventures 1-2), we've already wrecked our ship 4 times. That's because certain scenarios are heavy on structural damage - much more than in S&S and SotS.

Anyway, I'm fine with either ship but lean towards preventing structural damage when possible.

Note: Absalom also provided a die bump, if you finished that adventure.

Male

OK, I'll go with the flow.*
Let's stay on the Thresher.

*Not going to say it.

Thanks, Grazzle has only played 4 scenarios and early tier up, so has no die bumps :-(

@Robert - I wouldn't mind an Augury at Sharkskin Reef. The faster I can get through the Reef, the faster I can help people at other locations.

Could Augury for Barriers, I guess? I think the henchmen are evenly split between monsters and barriers at this point - and I can usually handle the monsters.

But if other people want/need the Augury, no problem.

This makes a lot of sense to me

Male

Should we try to end it now?
Looking around, I think we could close all the open locations and still have 1 or 2 blessings left for me.

Why end: Get a skill feat (most if not all of us) and move on to bigger better things
Why not end: Apothecary is fat with boons. Cannibal Isle has Allies and Blessings.

You can also just augury for henchmen directly. No need to guess monster vs barrier if you're interested in henchmen (and only henchmen). Downside is that if you find nasty monsters/barriers you don't want to deal with that aren't henchmen, you can't put them on the bottom of the location deck if you choose henchmen.

Male

Google Hangout consensus was to end turn & wait. Doing so now.

Didn't realise you could call Henchman. I thought it had to be monster, barrier etc

Augury says "Discard this card to choose a type of card and examine the top 3 cards of your location deck."

Villain, Henchman, and Loot are all card types and therefore can be chosen by Augury.

So, we (understandably) paused to look for boons, and at the most boon-filled remaining location (Apothecary) the only three banes left in a nine-card deck were the NEXT THREE CARDS?
Besmara is laughing at us.

So it seems. Times like this is when I wish I was playing my other Bard Meliski so he can explore the bottom card and shuffle.

All good, as we already have closed two and know where the villain is, having to kill a couple of boons is no big deal :-)
