Female Dark Elf Rogue 2
Aeleanor looks at the punching dagger, the bag of shurikens, and the thieves tools with interest. Does anybody want some of these?
Male Half-ElF Fighter 2
Ricven quickly glances over the items.
"None of it looks useful to myself, but I bet that wand will come in handy."

Aeleanor finds a secret door in the east wall. This small vault was used to store the more valuable or notorious belongings of the various prisoners. Currently, the vault contains only five objects: a bloodstained handaxe, a collection of holy symbols on a ring, a moldy spellbook, a smith’s hammer, and a tarnished silver flute. Each item is tagged with a label.

Ricven studies the items carefully, seeing if they match up to the more heinous individuals tied to the nursery rhyme.
Yes, the tags identify each item to its user. The ax was for the Lopper, the ring of holy symbols - Father Charlatan, the spellbook- the Splatter Man, the smith hammer- Mosswater Marauder, and the flute for the Piper of Illmarsh.

Aerys whispers an enchantment, touching his eyelids briefly with index and little fingers. casts detect magic & concentrates on the items
"Would there be some way to use these to lure the original owners, should they wish to reclaim them?"
Male Half-ElF Fighter 2
"Sounds like a good idea to me. Or maybe they could serve as a distraction during a fight. They obviously wanted these things in life. Why should being dead change that?"

Aerys casts a spell and is rewarded with a glow from some of the items.
The handaxe is a +1 handaxe which does extra damage against certain types of undead (specifically any thing that was beheaded).
The holy symbols are a collection of 12 chains of different faiths. No matter how hard you try, they cannot seem to be untangled. They apparently have some sort of abjuration magic on them, but the exact properties are undiscernable.
The covers and pages of the thick, leather-bound spellbook have become caked with mold over the years, but some of the contents remain legible.
This book once belonged to Professor Hean Feramin, the man who would eventually achieve fame not through academia but through murder. Known in his final days as the Splatter Man, he was delt a hideous blow to his
morale and sanity by the loss of his spellbook. Mold has destroyed most of the book’s contents, but nine spells do remain viable: comprehend languages, dispel magic, false life, gust of wind, illusory script, levitate, mage armor, magic missile, and summon monster IV.
The hammer does not glow, but it is masterwork quality.
The flute is also masterwork and worth about 300gp.

I cast detect magic and look at the holy symbols.

Any wizards should take the spell book and copy the spells. There are some nice spells in there. Although we might want to sell a few of the higher level ones if they are not usable for a while.

Venedictos looks among the chains for a Shelyn holy symbol. If he finds one, he shows it to the other Shelyn worshippers in the group. His face turns a deeper shade of red than normal.
As a matter of fact, there is a holy symbol of Shelyn in the group. There is also a symbol for Desna and Gorum.

Do I know what the other symbols are? Also, do I know what connection these disparate deities might have? Is there a group of 12 deities or something? Did they unite to face off against the Whispering Tyrant?
No, there is no real connection other than that they are the more common dieties worshipped in this area.
Male Elf Wizard 2
"Oh my, what an excellent find, Aleanor!" Corey delicately lifts up the spellbook and begins looking through some of the pages. "Some of these pages are definitely legible. If no one minds, I'll take this with us to copy down when we have a moment."
Corey, I was looking at your character sheet and I just noticed that you have your WIS modifier listed as -4, but it is only -2
Male Half-ElF Fighter 2
"Shall we move on to the next room? Taking all of these items with us, of course."
Which way? The bigger doors in the main auditorium that are on the east wall?
Male Half-ElF Fighter 2
Yes, that way sounds good
Male Halfling Paladin 2
Sounds good to me too.
Abe will try be up front with Ricven when they open the door.

The northeast wall of this room has partially fallen, revealing the dark, murky waters of the pond outside. Moldering training dummies and other similar equipment hint that this room may have once been a training area for the guards. In the northeast part of the room, the floor around a dark, jagged hole is surrounded by black scorch marks.

Shol'a'saul nods to the balding priest, "That would be a wise decision." She points to the door at the far wall. "Would it be fruitful to head in that direction?"

Ok, still having trouble w/map, but should fix tonight. I don't think I'll need it for this combat, so I'll move along.
As Ricven and Abernathus move forward into the room and approach the hole in the floor, a lurid light begins to show and brighten from it. Suddenl, bursting forth from the hole are several burning skulls which immediately fly to the attack.
