Sovereign Court

Abe you know that your lay on hands will hurt it.

poltergeist's will save vs Ad's CLW 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Ad'ifaah hurts the poltergeist with a touch of positive energy.

Sovereign Court

I need to know who is carry which items from the vault, I know that Corey has the spellbook, but who has the handaxe (which is magical), the smith's hammer, the silver flute, and Father Charlatan's necklace of holy symbols?

Btw: poltergeist

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

Venedictos would hang onto the holy symbols, if only so he can figure out how to separate out the Shelyn symbol and "purify" it somehow.

Sovereign Court

The poltergeist hurls several objects (scissors, bed pans, etc.) at your group.

attack vs Ad'ifaah 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
attack vs Venedictos 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
attack vs Abernathus 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

damage vs Abernathus 1d4 ⇒ 3

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

So far as I know, Ricven has none of the items.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol would carry the silver flute.

Male Halfling Paladin 2

Abe tries to touch the poltergiest.

Melee touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

hp 21/24
Lay on Hands 3/5

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

The ax should probably go to one of the front line people. Perhaps Ad'ifaah?

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

I will take the handaxe, I forgot we had it.

Round 2

I attack with the handaxe.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Aerys really couldn't use any of the stuff we found. When his turn comes up for round 2:

A harsh purplish-white light briefly fills the infirmary as Aerys sends a bolt of pure force arcing and spiraling unerringly towards floating apparation.

casts Magic Missle 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

Venedictos will let fly again with another lightning arc.
Touch Attack: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (4) - 4 = 0 (into melee)

The bolt flies wide and sends dust raining down from the ceiling at the back of the room.

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven continues to run, screaming, for the front door.

Sovereign Court

Aealeanor and Ricven, you are frightened, not panicked. Also, it only lasts for two rounds after which you are shaken.

Abernathus's hand glows with holy energy and he hits the poltergeist. Aerys also hits it with a bolt of force. Ad'ifaah's swing misses, but the poltergeist visibly shies away from her handaxe.

Poltergeist:
all three vs. Ad'ifaah
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Sharp implements fly from all over the room and strike at Ad'ifaah, but they miss or bounce harmlessly off of her shield and armor.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Come on you ugly ghost. Time to fine permanent rest.

Seeing the ghosts fear of the axe, Ad'ifaah continues swinging at the creature.

Attack-Cold Iron Handaxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Once again, the unfamiliarity with the axe versus her preferred scimitar is apparent. However, the swing looks much better than before.

Sovereign Court

Ad'ifaah's swing hits this time and appears to do full damage.

Male Halfling Paladin 2

Not sure who's up, but on his turn:

Abe tries to put his hands on the creature again.

Touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

hp 21/24
Lay on hands 2/5

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'saul realizes she is not very effective against the undead spirit and therefore concentrates on defending herself from its touch.

Total Defense.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

If/when my next turn comes around.

Back to the grave for you ghost.

Attack-Cold Iron Hand Axe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Sovereign Court

You could hit it once with your healing hex :)

Yeah...that would work, he he.

Shol'a'saul strides next to the evil spirit and reaches to touch it.

Healing Hex melee touch 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9, Will save DC 15 for half.

Sovereign Court

Sorry for the slow down, very busy yesterday. Will catch everything up tonight when I get home.

Sovereign Court

oops, kind of messed up alittle :) Here goes all the clean up

Will saves:
vs Abe's LoH1- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
vs Abe's LoH2- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
vs Shol's hex- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

miss chances (forgot about the natural invisibility)
1d100 ⇒ 67
1d100 ⇒ 86
1d100 ⇒ 63
1d100 ⇒ 79
1d100 ⇒ 54
1d100 ⇒ 80
1d100 ⇒ 69
1d100 ⇒ 23
1d100 ⇒ 89

Wow! Only one miss!

Sovereign Court

Shol'a'saul's hand passes through the poltergeist and her burst of positive energy destroys it. Venedictos knows that it is only temporary as a poltergeist can only be destroyed permanently by finding the source of its creation. It will probably rejuvenate within a few days.

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

"That thing was like a haunt, only a little more focused. We need to find the likely source of its creation to put that poor soul to rest."

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Ad'ifaah begins to search the room.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3 <-- Hey wow, I found my feet, wondered where they had gone. And look, this room has a wall, something that was missing from the last room.

Just like the bones in the furnace, in all likelihood, it is something in this room. Lets start looking.

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Aerys nods. "Given the nature of this room, I would imagine its resident hardly died peacefully in one of these beds..."

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Sovereign Court

A search of this cluttered room reveals a number of valuable objects—a pair of fully stocked healer’s kits, 3 vials of antitoxin, 2 vials of antiplague, 3 doses of bloodblock, 3 doses of smelling salts, 2 vials of soothe syrup, and 4 potions of cure light wounds. As to bones or some record of a possible source for the poltergeist, nothing is found.

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

Shol'a'saul's face lights up on seeing all of the healing supplies and eagerly lays claim to them.

She will claim all of the healing supplies, except for the potions.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

Shol, any chance you can use the voodoo talk with the deceased machine to talk to this poltergeist and determine what is causing its unrest?

Female Elf (Forlorn) Witch 1; 6/6 hp; AC: 12, (Touch 12, FF 10); F +1, R +2, W +3, Perc +3/+5 Init +2

"I...I could attempt to contact the spirit who haunts this area. The questions we pose to it must be brief and requires a yes or no response." She looks to the others, "Should I attempt this now?"

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven sheepishly walks back into the room with the others.

"So, I guess you guys took care of it?"

Max HP: 16 | Current Hp: 16 | AC 13, T 10, FF 13 | CMD 9 | F 3, R 2, W 6 | Init +1 | Perc +7

"Well, let's think about this for a moment. The thing was afraid of the axe, which is extra potent against undead that died by losing their head, so what in this room could cause decapitation?"

Sovereign Court

The room gives no clue for the existence of the poltergeist, perhaps it is tied to one of the more powerful spirits.

Female Dark Elf Rogue 2

Aeleanor reappears from the shadows and starts looking around as if nothing had happened.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Sovereign Court

I like that Aeleanor :) All we need now is some casual whistling :)

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven tries to make up for earlier by searching the entire room.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Male Human Sorcerer 2 Arcane Bloodline

Aerys briefly toys with the idea of using Mage Hand and Ghost Sound to freak out Ricven and Aeleanor, but then decides they would probably then kill him :)

Aerys gestures to the three smaller doors "Shall we continue around the building's perimeter?" He tilts his head to the South wall and the double doors. "Or should we head more towards the center?"

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

The outside. If we go to the center, we are open to attack from anyone, or anything, still on the outside where we have not searched. By doing the outside first, we can only be hit from the middle. Thus, greatly decreasing our chance of being surrounded.

We head to the next room on the outer rim of the prison.

Sovereign Court

Ok, I have Corey w/ the spellbook, Ad'ifaah w/ the handaxe, Venedictos w/ the holy symbols, and Shol'a'saul w/ the flute. I just need to know who has the hammer.

Ad'ifaah:
You cannnot relinquish the axe anymore and must use it as your weapon until further notice. It counts as a +1 handaxe, but here in Harrowstone it is a +1 ghost touch handaxe.

Corey:
As you search the room, you see your name again scrawled in blood on a cabinet. However, upon closer inspection, it was just a trick of the light apparently.

Venedictos:
I forgot to do it in that fight, but whenever you cast a spell, please roll 1d100 with it :)

Sovereign Court

harrow 7

The 3 doors on the east wall are all closets. Opening the door to the South you find a 10' corridor that obiviously leads back to the entrance room. Taking the first door on your left you find a wide corridor that circles around two inner rooms and has several doors on the outer rim. Following Ad'ifaah's lead you open the first room to the right outside and find the guard's privy. A thorough search of this room reveals nothing.

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven forces himself to go ahead of everyone, determined to face whatever the prison has to throw at him. As he examines the new area, he realizes a long, narrow section has been avoided so far.

"Once we finish in here, let's check this area near the holding center for the prisoners. I don't want anything sneaking up from behind us."

GM:
Ricven is talking about the area in white that's one square wide and runs vertical on the map toward the right.

Male Halfling Paladin 2

Is the hammer masterwork or something? if so, Abe will take it.

Sovereign Court

Abernathus Burbuckle wrote:

Yes it is masterwork.

Female Human Fighter/1, Oracle(Lore)/1

DM Galahad:

Do you mean that I cannot give the hand axe to anyone else? Or that I cannot put it down and am wielding it until we get dispel magic or some other method of uncursing it?

Sovereign Court

Ad'ifaah:
You can sheathe it or what ever, but you won't give it up or use any other weapon in its place.

Sovereign Court

The southern flight of stairs once led down toward what must be a lower level, but it’s now filled with a mess of large stone blocks and shattered timbers. The nothern flight of stairs leads up to the second floor.

Male Half-ElF Fighter 2

Ricven takes a quick look around the stairwell to make sure there is no unusual activity.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

"This is just the stairs. Let's examine these other little contained areas we haven't gone into yet and then go into the far western part of the prison."

Perception for the next room, let's go from left to right on the map. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Male Halfling Paladin 2

Abe concentrates for a moment at the.door.

detecting evil through the door

Male Elf Wizard 2

As they enter the room, Corey stops in mid track and blinks several times "What in Desna's name..?" The elf says, inching closer to the wall. He appears to be somewhat distraught. "Is that my name written on the wall?", he thinks. Rubbing his eyes briefly he looks again to see nothing. When he realizes his strange behavior he straightens up a little and brushes it off. "Sorry about that, I thought I saw.. another haunt."

Sovereign Court

This chamber (the triangular one) is in a shambles—old wooden benches lie in ruins along the walls, while rusty chains and bits of rotten rope lie scattered on the floor.
