Tongues: In times of stress or unease, you speak in tongues. Pick one of the following languages: Abyssal, Aklo, Aquan, Auran, Celestial, Ignan, Infernal, or Terran. Appearance:

Dark skinned and thin, Ad'ifaah was never considered the pretty girl. She tends to be quiet and unlikely to speak up until she feels the time is right. She favors flowing robes native to her home, even when wearing armor beneath.

Background:

Born in Katheer, Ad'ifaah Najeeb is the daughter of Raja Amir Najeeb, renown conjurer, and Diaphia, her father's concubine. The day of Ad'ifaah's birth is the day her father claims was the greatest success as a conjurer, it was the day he summoned and bound a mighty Pit-Fiend devil.

As her father was a free resident of Katheer, Ad'ifaah was generally free. However, as a physically weak female, she was unable to compete in most physical endeavors which her sisters and brothers competed. Instead, from an early age, she spent a great amount of time in her father's library. She studied many subjects including summoning, the various planes, the elements, religion, and the history of much of the Inner Sea and Qadira. While she would study at the great libraries of Katheer with her friends at times, her favorite people to work with were the various djinn and other genie folk which would be summoned by or father, or simply visit him to research in his library. At the age of 12, Ad'ifaah first met Professor Lorrimor who was visiting Katheer. Ad'ifaah's father invited the Professor over for dinner to discuss conjuring the denizens of the outer planes as well as djinn, efreet, marid and other elemental residents. Although young, Ad'ifaah's knowledge and interest in these subjects amazed the Professor who asked her to visit him in his home in Ustalav some day. Ad'ifaah did not think she would ever travel from hot sunny Qadira to dark cold Ustalav, but graciously accepted his offer.

At the age of 16, it was apparent that Ad'ifaah would excel in the arcane arts and her father enrolled her in the academy to learn magic. However, she learned that her interest in travel and the world was not being met. So, at the age of 18, while still a neophyte wizard, she left Katheer and began to travel.

After traveling throughout the southern lands of Nex, Geb, Katapesh and Osirion for nearly two years, Ad'ifaah travelled to Absalom and then to Andoran. At times she would stay in towns and cities assisting sages and scholars with their research, at other times, she would travel on foot or with caravans across the lands to learn to history, stories and customs of the various Inner Sea nations. While wandering southward along the Andoran coast, there was a night with an intense storm, the likes of which Ad'ifaah had never seen while out in the elements. The next morning as the sun came out, Ad'ifaah walked down to the shore of the inner sea and was amazed to see a ship had been forced ashore during the night. Several bodies of dead sailors were strewn along the shore. Hoping to help, Ad'ifaah checked to see if anyone had survived and was in need of help. As she began to search the bodies, she heard a noise from the sea. Turning, she saw what appeared to be a man gasping for air. Despite being a questionable swimmer at best, Ad'ifaah threw caution to the wind and waded into the water where she managed to reach the man and pull him to shore.

Once she got the man onto land, she rolled him over to check if there was anything she could do for him. Amazingly, she immediately recognized him as the famous Professor Lorrimor who she had met many years earlier. She then helped the Professor away from the shore back to her campsite where she lit a fire and prepared some food. The Professor said that he was returning from a research trip and that he needed to return to Ustalav. Ad'ifaah did not wish to go to the north, however, she know of the Professor's fame and was interested in learning from him. Thus, she accompanied him back to Almas and then north through Andoran, Isger and Druma and then across Lake Encarthan to his home in Ustalav.

After leaving the Professor, Ad'ifaah headed west to Varisia where, at the age of 20, she was introduced to the teachings of Desna, The Great Dreamer. Desna's teachings of freedom, travel, luck and the stars directly coincided with Ad'ifaah's beliefs.

Now, after nearly four years of traveling about the Inner Sea as a messenger of Desna, she recently received a magical missive regarding the Professor which requested that she come to Ustalav. While she was in far western Varisia north of Riddleport at the time of receiving notice of the Professor's demise, she quickly contacted other members of the Desna faith and was able to secure magical transport to Ustalav where she arrive just yesterday.
