This is a simple washroom. An ancient metal washtub stands to the north, a ring of mildew crusting its inner surface. A strange, furtive scratching comes from inside the tub.
A rat is scrabbeling about in the bath tub. The creature is a horrific and pitiful sight, a blind, tumor-heavy wretch. At the vibrations of Dayo entering the room, its starts shrieking in a frenzy, desperately trying to climb out of the tub.
This oak-paneled chamber must have once been breathtaking, but is a sad sight now—the floorboards are warped with moisture and the paneling scratched and spotted with mold. A grand piano, its surface splotchy and keys warped, leans tiredly in the southeast corner.
Because it matters, which stair would you take? Placing your character in front of it works as an indication

I think once you're upstairs, you can get 'normal' again. The mommy thing was funny, but like most of these things, they only stay funny in small doses.
As you make your way to the stairs trough the entrance hall, the second Eoghan is trough the door, the manticore lurches to sudden life, its face shifting to resemble that of a human female, and its fur erupting into flame. Its tail strikes forward against Eoghan.
As quick as the attack happened, it is also over, with the manticore reverting to a normal stuffed animal.
Eoghan has severe burn wounds, but is not on fire.

Erm, so if that's going to happen every so often, I recommend either demolishing that thing, or stashing it somewhere safe we don't walk past every time.
Dayo blinks, and suddenly seems surprised to watch Eoghan drop to the ground. He kneels down beside him, ready to tend the burns if Snowflake needs assistance with healing.
"Justin, do you think this will happen again? I wonder why it did not attack us when we first entered..."

Eoghan flashes a look at Justin and grins. Hopefully that says enough.
"You were possessed by someone that seemed to be a housewife or maid or something. You were very protective of the house and seemed to think Justin was your child. Other than that, you seemed pretty okay with us just going through everything. Possessed you seemed to know a lot the normal you wouldn't. Do you recall any of that?"
Eoghan gets off the ground, thanks Vy, then prods the manticore with the pommel of his bastard sword.
"You sure this thing is safe to leave here? I'd prefer if we stuffed it in a closet or something. Respectfully, of course. Otherwise we might anger the spirit of whatever hangs around here."
Deciding to leave the stuffed manticore for what it is, you all make your way up the stairs. The stairs creak as you make your way up, and the footsteps echo back at you, sounding as if an additional person was walking up with you.
Upstairs there is a small landing. After checking the door, you find yourself in an oddly shaped hallway.
