Zane doesn't need a scientist

Zane doesn't like this exchange at all. He prefers to follow Vetch's ideas, but also sees Draka much farther down the corridor taking on The Jangly man.

His job is to protect Abe and to kill one of these things. But, the odds of him getting double teamed are also high. He'll protect Abe for this time being, but switch tactics very soon.
He takes a guarded step backwards.

Round 3:

Draka takes a five foot step, following Jangly Man to be within swinging distance. (See map.) "First, throw acid at Draka!" Draka raises her swoop hammer above her head and her battle cry can be heard from all the way down the hall. "Then, call Draka brute?! RAAAUGH!" All her hard work to look her beautifully-stunning best - the carefully maintained manicure, the shine to her scales, the sharpness of her teeth - all devalued by this crazed human! The vesk's inner goddess rages. How dare he?! Draka channels all of her annoyance and anger into the swing, arcing the end of the weapon down towards Jangly Man.

The Zane ducks back behind the corner and snaps another shot off, though he has a difficult time getting a bead on the shade as other stand in his way. Cover Dash sends missile after missile into the shade. The spell seems to be very effective as the magic tears large, gaping holes into the incorporeal.

Draka's pushes onward, further ignoring the shade as her intimidating form and manicured nails cast a shadow over the Jangly man. Her hammer smashes into his side, slamming him against the wall. "Ooof." The blow seems to cease his ramblings for a brief moment.

Abe steps back against the wall. he doesn't have much further he can go as he attacks the undead. Another portion is seared free as Messalina slows its roll.

The Jangle man grabs at his ribs as he gasps for breath withdrawing further into the ship. Withdraw. Vetch does a similar tactic from the undead that keeps grabbing at him.

The Shades flt through the walls of the ship as they quickly surround Zane, press Abe back against the wall and assault Draka from behind.

Zane drops his trusty and awesome laser gun, because his ability to dance around the battlefield has ended.

The solid form of Boingo jumps into Zane's hand as his magic glove works wonders. The blade makes this ZZZZIIIINNG sound as it's already in motion to attack the spectre at his back. Zane whirls and elicits a SLLLSSSHHH sound as he digs into the creature.

The Zanes prior shot reflects off the wall striking the Shade as the dark material dissipates into space. That would negate the hit on Abe as well.

Changing tactics Zane draws his blade and begins slashing through the Shades surrounding him. Undead voices and whispers fill his ear. "Join us at the Bloodgate.... It feels wonderful...." Dash tracks the next wounded with his sensors and sends more missiles streaking across the hull. and into the back of the shade. Abe makes his way further down the hall while Messalina freezes the floor, wall and entire backside of the undead. They have EAC 17 exactly. :)

Draka swings into the incorporeal, her hammer passing harmlessly through it's body. The Jangly Man, uses the opportunity to walk down the hallway, taking great pleasure in his work. He wipes a bloody hand across the wall, leaving a trail of dripping blood as he whistles a haunting tune.

The vesk calls back to her companions: "Jangley Man... scared of Draka!" Then, the vesk moves past the red shade, seemingly unconcerned about the damage, and bounds down the hallway towards the Jangly Man. (Double move) She bares her teeth in a knowing smile. Their foe wasn't formidable - he was afraid of her.

The Zane slices the purple hued incorporeal into ribbons while Dash splinters the Shade on the opposite end of Zane with even more missiles. Draka completely ignores the shade hounding her scaly tail as it grasps at her once again.

Disbelieving that The Zane is still standing after such an onslaught, Abe refocuses fire on green.

He glares at the Jangly Man as he shoots him twice, unwisely.

Messalina stays cool however, and continues to focus fire on the green shade.

Unfortunately, something on his vid-screen distracts him and he shifts Messalina as she's about to fire - causing misses all around.

(Damn, can't catch a break with the dice. We're in a tough spot!)

He heroically, or foolishly, flips on his Haste circuit (swift) and uses his free movement to move up next to The Zane, "Fall back and get some healing you foolish son-of-a-b#++#." he calls out as he puts himself on the line.

The Jangly Man is cut down by Zane as his head his caved in and brained by Draka's hammer. As the Jangly Man dies so to do the shades aboard the vessel. Each disappears in a scream in unison before vanishing back into the Drift.

With the Jangly Man defeated you have the run of the vessel.
