Hey everyone, I'll be on travel from 22-Feb to 1-Mar. I'm expecting to be without internet that time. If I'm a player, please bot. If I'm the GM, I apologize for the game disruption, but please DON'T bot!

Vojtek Wartooth |

I'm traveling too... should be back online around 3 March. Bot at will!

Decide a priority list for things, as when he finds them and returns he'll expect payment.
We should be in position to jump back in next week, once Savosh is done grading for this term.

Kappi Matarito |

This is an interesting scene...
However, as it drags on I'm getting more and more sick of it. Can we pull it together and finish this?
Do we need to make a conference call? Maybe a zoom meeting? I feel like we could do this scene at the table in under 5 mins. But its been weeks and weeks, let move it.

GM thunderspirit |

Honestly, part of the delay has been for the IMAS crew and for Davosh to finish the school year. But your point is otherwise taken.
Let's go with the following:
1) We'll presume you want to skip the elemental gem at this time because you have other stuff on your wish list. (Might be there when he gets back, might not.)
2) I'm going to ask someone to put together a list of what you want and prioritize it. That can be done in the next few days of real time and we'll apply it retroactively. That's what Zilvazaraat will work from to procure.
3) You don't need the coin until he returns (and remember he will return to the Hut), but he'll expect payment then, either in coin or in commensurate magic items. Kappi will be able to Appraise correctly and Edward should be able to get the cost down to list price in the books/PRD.
Sound good?

Davosh the Wanderer |

That sounds good. I'm sorry guys. I'm dragging. I agree with Phil, cool scene, but I want to get back to adventuring.

GM thunderspirit |

Deepest sympathies to Vojtek on the loss of his mother.
You're in our thoughts, Northman. Peace.

GM thunderspirit |

Defeating the stricken-with-psychosis treant Dawnbark earns the party 10,000 xp.

Kappi Matarito |

I'll be on family vacation for a week starting tomorrow. I'm happy to keep things moving. I should have no problem checking in on the game but I'll be limited to just my phone. So will have problems w/ the map.
I may need some help moving Kappi around.

GM thunderspirit |

No worries, we'll help move Kappi about. Have a good time and be safe!

GM thunderspirit |

Defeating the loathsome moon-beast and its denizen of Leng slave earns the party 14,000 xp.

Davosh the Wanderer |

Huzzah! Since I track in so many other games, I'm relying on Edward to tell me when we level up

![]() |

Huzzah! Since I track in so many other games, I'm relying on Edward to tell me when we level up
thanks. We each need 7300 more to level, or 36500 as a group.
So a little more than 3 of those fights.

GM thunderspirit |

I dig.
The Hut's configuration has been thoroughly explored. It's time to find out where the Hut has taken you this time and try to find the next key/keys to follow Baba Yaga. Kappi found that way out when he climbed up the fireplace flue.
FYI, I know Vojtek has been busy as all get-out with his Real Life [tm] job, and Davosh of course is trying to get back into the swing of things with remote learning at his Real Life [tm] job. Plus both of them, and Ali too, still have the second pseudo-full-time gig in Real Life [tm] at their dojo.
I, too, had an attack of Real Life [tm] this past week, as my spouse just had non-emergency surgery. I was a bundle of nerves but am better now that she is back home again.
When y'all are ready to move forward -- no time pressure, I promise -- we can do so.

"Lucky" Lucas D'Endrin |

Thanks for the understanding gents! And Joe, I'm as surprised as you are at your relative normalcy!

GM thunderspirit |

No skill challenge on this one, beyond "how do we get in?"
Also, assuming you arrive with Bescaylie, you'll be presumed friend over foe until/unless you demonstrate otherwise.

GM thunderspirit |

Establishing peaceful contact with Bescaylie and defeating the drake patrol to get into Spurhorn earns a grand total of 18,000 xp!

GM thunderspirit |

No lies detected. >.<
I've taken to, I refuse to leave the page until the post I made shows up after refresh (or several refreshes, as is often the case).
Also, FYI: Edward has pieced together that the Triaxian custom, when not in a formal setting like the Council (when you would use "Bescaylie, of the Dragon Legion, and their partner Efrixes") is to refer to a rider and dragonkin pair together. So:
Thank you Bescaylie, Efrixes, and Nevra.
should be
Thank you Bescaylie and Efrixes; and Nevra.

Ok well glad to be back. I had a pretty good record of completing 100% of the pathfinder AP's I've started on pbp (1 for 1 in SFounders Curse of the Crimson Throne. That was dropped to a 33% until we have stated this one back up. (GMTS Reign of Winter, and SFounders Skulls and Shackles(inactive) and I don't blame Chris for dropping that one, very poorly written, and the pathfinder game mechanics for sea combat leave MUCH to be desired).
So with that out of the way here is a bit of a recap.
The Witch Queen Baba Yaga failed to return to the nation of Irrisen to place a new daughter on the throne. Not coincidentally, an unseasonable winter overtook the forest near the village of Heldren with summer snows, shrouding a magical portal to Irrisen.
To shut the portal, you needed to travel through to Irrisen, and you were quested by the Black Rider to find Baba Yaga and stop Queen Elvanna from capturing all of Narnia Golarion. The portal took you to the frozen land of Nador, where they were forced to eat Sir Robin's minstrels Irrisen, where you met Nadya Petska and her little town of Anatevka Waldsby, whose troubles led you to the peak of the Pale Tower and a battle with Radosek Pavril, who evaded capture and fled. You were able to close the portal, saving Golarion from an icy fate but effectively stranding you in Irrisen.
With Nadya's help, you made you way across the tundra of Irrisen toward Whitethrone, the capital and home to the Witch Queen Elvanna, to meet her late husband's uncle Ringeirr and his extra-legal connections. Ringeirr bought you to Yavin IV the Shrine of the Everbloom, a site of hope and rebellion amidst Whitethrone's iron rule. First dealing with Logrivich, the dragon in Elvanna's employ, a coordinated uprising gave you the opportunity to delve into the Market Square in an effort to recapture Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut from its imprisonment there. A battle versus Nazhena Vasilliovna ensued, with Radosek reappearing (vanquished this time, although Nazhena escaped). You got inside the Hut and found several clues that would send the Hut elsewhere — though where was not entirely clear.
Passing the tests of the raven oracles allowed you to excape the Hut, and your mission is to follow the bread crumbs Baba Yaga has left behind to control her Hut, thus enabling her rescuers to use the Hut to retrace her steps and eventually find her. The clues provided by the ravens suggest that the giant statues of Artrosa are where the party must venture to find the next set of keys...if only they can find their way there.
On the way out of the Hut, the party met Ratibor the Bold, cursed by Baba Yaga herself some two centuries ago to guard the Hut against all intruders. Now in Iobaria in far-off Casmaron, The Hut helps them drive off would-be pillaging giants and leads to them a centaur hunting band, who take the adventurers to their leader within the Hoofwood.
Venturing into Deeprun Crevasse to Artrosa, the group finds a trio of vast statues — Maiden, Mother, and Crone — and delve inside, eventually emerging with the quizzical keys to allow the Hut to continue retracing the steps of the Witch Queen and thwart the ambitions of her fourteenth daughter. Nazhena harries them upon their return to the Hut, but they defeat her for good this time.
From Nov 4, 2020:
This trip in Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut brought you to Baba Yaga's garden — yet another layout of the Dancing Hut — and you had to explore your surroundings, defeating a number of plant creatures, to find an exit. (Reminder: Zilvazaraat will return to the Hut in two days' time.)
Kappi climbed the chimney in the shelter found in the garden, reporting back some fantastical views when outside. Check Kappi's spoiler on that post. Once outside in the cold air, you find that his words didn't do the view justice, and it's obvious that you are no longer in Iobaria.
Also just found Davosh's special Gift for TS
So that previous history here is our current situation:
The hut has provided us with clues for finding the two keys that will move us along in our adventure: "Baba Yaga has gone on, off to see her only son!"
"But a trail she left behind, if the breadcrumbs you can find!"
"Seek you keys, you will know by these!"
One lands and morphs into a taxidermy two-headed eagle, while another collapses into a pool which transforms into a fierce-looking bearskin rug. The last splits in half, one half resting atop the rung as a small hand mirror made in part from tusk of ivory, the other into a corded drinking horn with an iron spur emering from the end.
After exiting the hut, we met a dragonkin rider Bescaylie and her drake Efrixes who said that their fortress was under siege. We decided to befriend her and join their side of the fight. We were let towards Spurhorn and after a fight we made it there and gained entrance to Spurhorn and after a time we were able to meet up with a Commander Pharamol and the Spurhorn council who had to vote if we would be accepted into the Dragon Legion.
With the vote passed we learned a bit more history, and that it is not disallowed for a Dragonkin and an offworlder to bond. During our history lesson we saw a storm coming in.
After dark we were summoned to Commander Pharamol who informed us that the enemy is on the move. Davosh is speaking with the ancients to gleen any information that will help against this attack.

Also, it has been a few years since we have played. Will we be using Roll20 for maps and token movment? Seems to be an easier setup for map creation and (semi)Tactical Movement.

You're welcome. Had the free time.
So just so this doesn't get lost in the passage of time. Did we ever get our shopping done from
Zilvazaraat the Magnificent and his dimensional store of magical sundries.

GM thunderspirit |

Thanks for the recap. I was unable to post something today since I discovered I was the only one in my office this morning...so that's fun. >.>
Zilvazaraat pledged to come back in three days' time, of which there is one day remaining.
Y'all have a busy day (well, evening) in front of you, of course. And Davosh was in the midst of a divination spell to try and gain some insight into the movements of the enemy. (It's been three years, so I don't remember what we agreed the spell would be, but I'mma say it's this one, with some GM modifications.)

GM thunderspirit |

Sure, no problem.

Gonna roll out hero points. The GM reserves the right to change or modify this decision at any time. (Hopefully he's not arbitrary enough to do it just if he's in a bad mood, LOL.)
We'll use the rules as written in the APG with the following modifications:
- No ability to Act Out of Turn. JMSO, in a PbP, it's a little too difficult to adjudicate.
- No hero point feats , spells, or magic items.
- A hero point may be used to add 1d4 to any d20 roll you have made (and only a roll you have made — i.e., not on another player's roll). The point may be spent any time after the roll but before the final results are known. (And this can't change a natural 1 result.)
At this time, everyone has one hero point to use. Deal?
Hero points can be spent at any time and do not require an action to use (although the actions they modify consume part of your character's turn as normal). You cannot spend more than 1 hero point during a single round of combat. Whenever a hero point is spent, it can have any one of the following effects.Bonus: If used before a roll is made, a hero point grants you a +8 luck bonus to any one d20 roll. If used after a roll is made, this bonus is reduced to +4. You can use a hero point to grant this bonus to another character, as long as you are in the same location and your character can reasonably affect the outcome of the roll (such as distracting a monster, shouting words of encouragement, or otherwise aiding another with the check). Hero points spent to aid another character grant only half the listed bonus (+4 before the roll, +2 after the roll).
Extra Action: You can spend a hero point on your turn to gain an additional standard or move action this turn.
Inspiration: If you feel stuck at one point in the adventure, you can spend a hero point and petition the GM for a hint about what to do next. If the GM feels that there is no information to be gained, the hero point is not spent.
Recall: You can spend a hero point to recall a spell you have already cast or to gain another use of a special ability that is otherwise limited. This should only be used on spells and abilities possessed by your character that recharge on a daily basis.
Reroll: You may spend a hero point to reroll any one d20 roll you just made. You must take the results of the second roll, even if it is worse.
Cheat Death: A character can spend
21 hero point to cheat death. How this plays out is up to the GM, but generally the character is left alive, with negative hit points but stable. The character can spend hero points in this way to prevent the death of a familiar, animal companion, eidolon, or special mount, but not another character or NPC.
I think the hero point rules are fine as they are laid out here, but from this point forward:
Additions/Revisions:
- * each player now has 1 hero point to spend
* when that PC levels up, they get 1 hero point if they spent a hero point during the preceding level
* the GM may issue additional hero points for excellent visuals, creative solutions, etc., but no one will ever be able to have more than 1 hero point at any given time
* the GM will consider creative uses of hero points upon request
* Ali has just spent the L9 hero point she just got.
