Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map |

Late night AND early morning. :-D

I have a convention this weekend myself (Gamehole Con in Madison, WI), for which I'm desperately trying to cram the prep for the scenarios I'm running since my favorite team just wont he freaking World Series and sapped a lot of the time I'd've spent doing that. (TOTALLY WORTH THE TIME SUNK.)

Will Kappi survive...?

* Cheat Death by spending 2 hero points. Cheating death is the only way for a character to spend more than 1 hero point in a turn. The character can spend hero points in this way to prevent the death of a familiar, animal companion, eidolon, or special mount, but not another character or NPC.

I vote, with both hands, to raise Vojtek. In fact...let me set the stage here.

A while back, Chris ran an adventure in a particular campaign we called "New Blood" and the dungeon had rooms "keyed" to specific characters. One of those rooms included a bardic puzzle (a verse that was a key to a cipher, to set levers/buttons/etc in a particular way). That puzzle was keyed to a character whose player was not present (Reagh). The group managed to figure it out, except for one thing: the lever (currently in the "up" position" had a middle and a down, and we didnt' know which of the 2 was right.

After a moment's thought, I got it. "It goes *all the way* because Reagh never does anything half-assed!" and I was right.

In the same vein, there is No Way In Hell that Vojtek would opt to rest if given the option to be raised. He would not stay down, having been killed by a youngling white, on his quest to kill a big-boy white.

HE GETS RAISED.
(unless Ed's spot-on suggestion is the right one, in which case please save this heartfelt tirade for the next death)

Character Sheet | Tactical Map | XP

I concur!
DMTS, is cheat death an option?

Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map |

Cheat death seems reasonable.

There'll be a cost associated (say, Logrivich's claws sundered his armor and his greatsword broke on the side of the clocktower as he collapsed), but he is alive and stable at -15 hp. And neither item is magical, so the cost is less.

Huzzah!

Character Sheet | Tactical Map | XP

Please no one write anything on Vojtek's "ressurection"

Pending a pm w/ DMTS I have an idea...

Housekeeping: total for levels 2-4 of the clock tower is 9500 xp.

Related to the OOC discussion on the Gameplay thread, I've been looking for a nice way to reward you guys for some first-rate roleplay and character development; I've really felt the five distinct personalities in play through much of this book. :-)

These are likely to take the form of bonus feats that have some limited (but genuine) game use but are not especially powerful.

For Vojtek, the choice is obvious.
For Davosh, the choice is similarly clear.

I'm open to suggestions that fit your PC vision (or which you think would suit another PC particularly well). It does not need to be a feat, but please keep in mind the intent and try not to powergame it.

*Hard choice, it's a game of extremely high level characters and half the players are deployed, but AfI-3 is a great end note to a campaign. They were level 11 when we started and are now 15.

Kappi has a little over 1000gp. He would happily give a share for the party to have a CLWs wand.

The fact that Baba Yaga's Hut has giant chicken legs is common enough folklore that I'll presume you know it well.

As for magic items, while there's a limit based on Whitethrone's size/population, there's also the fact that you're needing to go through the admittedly-extensive "black market" to get stuff. So arbitrarily I'm gonna say that the limit on any single individual item is going to be somewhere between 4000 and 5000 gp. Anything more than that is going to cause the authorities to start asking questions.

The Paizo crafting rules especially for smaller items like scrolls and stuff are wicked easy to craft even while "Adventuring". You don't need downtime anymore to magic stuff, nor consecutive days.

I like the "Summon Abilities" chain of feats. Often you can apply judicious use of the venerated "Mordenkainen's Lesser DM Befuzzlement" to achieve some really outlandish abilities... This one time, I cast "Awesome Story Enhancement IV" and turned being torn apart in an ill-advised toe-to-toe effort with a dragon into a rage power and a sweet +5 Vorpal Heart of Soul Corruption.

Also, Always use pencil on your character sheets boys, there is nothing like saving a trip to town for resupply than using your Rubber Nipple of Writing Obliteration by simply flipping you pencil over to bump up your consumables a bit.

    This took some legit digging.

It was indeed a part of the 3.0/3.5 rules set, but was omitted in Pathfinder's Core rules. It was later clarified with an added feat from the Advanced Players Guide, then altered slightly in Ultimate Campaign, (though this last is under the optional rules for Downtime and Campaign Systems, and appears largely geared toward researching new items rather than replicating stuff that already exists.)

Sorry guys, I'm just not getting into that level of minutiae, without it being absolutely necessary — lazy, has-a-Real-Life-GM is lazy and has a Real Life.

So this requires a GM ruling, which will be: to craft a cure light wounds wand, Ali would need to have the spell on her spell list, or either Edward (or Davosh, as it's a witch spell) would also need to have the Craft Wand feat to assist. I see no need for the Cooperative Crafting feat to merely lend a hand; to speed up the process, though, sure.

Since this may leave Ali feeling her feat choice is sub-optimal, I'm willing to allow her to swap that feat out to another one for which she qualified when she took that feat.

I have no problem keeping the feat; I think Magus is a really good choice for a wand-using class and I may craft more as time & funds permit.
