1.21 gigadots!
EndlessForms |
I was planning on playing my Druid but I could just as easily play my blade bound magus. Both are level 4 and I have no preference. I guess I'll see what else we have.
EndlessForms |
Too magi could be really fun. Maybe I'll bring Beleg. I'll think about it a little more and decide later this week.
GM thunderspirit |
carl the farmer is ready with his scythe.
Excellent! Someone must fill the role of "cannon fodder." :-D
Beleg the Galtan |
(Endless Forms here)
I'm already in a S&S game or I would have signed up for yours.
I think I've decided to go with my magus rather than my druid. Hawkwen is familiar with this character. I'll update his profile later this week; he just hit level 4.
Quiven Glist |
Quiven, the cannon-fodder, has arrived!
Beleg the Galtan |
I'm all updated.
@Ander - You should check out my spellbook. When we get the chance I'm sure you'll find something in there you'll want. I believe that's all of the first level magus spells minus any that may have come out in that past month or two.
GM thunderspirit |
A few housecleaning things to help out your GM and fellow players:
- Here is an example of how I put my own PC stuff in. You don't need to follow this format; the info is what matters. I'm just asking that I be able to find initiative mod, HP, AC, saves, and pertinent Perception stuff at a glance. More in-depth stuff for your character is fine elsewhere.
(As an amendment to that, more in-depth stuff for your PC elsewhere is fine, as long as I know where to find it. Google Docs, Obsidian Portal, even a Skydrive file is okay with me — just please let me know where.)
- I typically use Google Docs for combat maps and images. I will share with you via your email address, so you'll need to be signed in to Google. If that's an issue with you, please let me know and I will see what we can work out.
- Please be respectful of your fellow players and try to post at least once per day. (More is usually better, of course!) The most I'll do is make (or ask someone to make) an initiative roll or skill check on your behalf, but no one is going to direct your PC to take any actions.
- Please be sure you own whatever resource with which you have built your character. I have asked for verification (and have subsequently disallowed stuff) before, and while I don't enjoy doing it, I do need to enforce the rules.
Most of all, I hope you have fun. If you're not having fun, please let me know.
(Full disclosure: I am the king of non-sequitur humor and frequently break the fourth wall.)
Beleg the Galtan |
Concerning Beleg knowing every Magus spell ever: I do own all the books they come from just in case it comes up.

The Amazing Dink (yes, another worthless bard) is ready to mock and taunt.
I am new to the paizo pbf format, though I am experienced on other sites... so, that is to say, I don't know what I'm doing yet, but, I think I can catch on fairly quickly.
What do I do now/next? I entered Dink's stats here
Thanks for your patience!

Looks good. All you need to do is pick an avatar for Dink and post with him.
GM thunderspirit |
Beleg, you avatar is gonna confuse the heck out of me; I use the same pic for my halfling charger. LOL
Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Magus, Magus, and Rogue. That's actually pretty darn balanced!
GM thunderspirit |
Oh, that's fun: you're running THAT one and I'm running THIS one. We BOTH get to be confused each time we look at the threads! LOL
GM thunderspirit |
Go to My Account, then click the Pathfinder Society link in the boxes on your account page. You'll see a list of your characters; click on the Edit button next to them and you should be able to change the avatar and the details on the page. (Be sure to save frequently; the Paizo pages time out pretty quickly when you're in that part.)

To get things beneath your name put it in the "classes/levels" section.
Quiven Glist |
I'm not sure where to put this but before we get going I'd like to make a purchase from one of my chronicle sheets, a mithral shirt for 1100gp, and sell the leaf armor that I have for 250gp. The chronicle is Perils of the Pirate Pact, one Mike GMed for me.
Being 3rd level I might be able to buy it without the chronicle but I thought I'd be sure.
GM thunderspirit |
If your Fame score is 9 or more, you can buy up to 1500gp, so the mithral shirt would be fine even without a chronicle.
Quiven Glist |
Great, thanks. Profile is updated.
Beleg the Galtan |
Yep, I'll be copying acid arrow and flurry of snowballs when I get the chance.
I've got read magic prepared and I can take 10 to easily pass the Spellcraft check.
Two second level spells will cost me 80 gp.
GM thunderspirit |
Reminded by a fellow GM that the Ascendance Day holiday boon is available for this scenario. You can download your valid copy here.
GM thunderspirit |
I don't see anything in my email or my spam folder. How about an PM on the Paizo board instead?

I won't be around Friday-Sunday. If needed, someone can ghost play carl for me.
Power attack is +9, 2d4+11
Have cleave & step up.
Loves tickling.

And sunsets, and long walks on the beach.

FYI, all: in transit most of today (yay, airports! >.<), so any posting will be spotty at best. Especially since nearly everything is on my laptop. ;-)
GM thunderspirit |
Was thinking about this over the weekend, when both Rene and I were out of touch for part of it.
I'd like to put some kind of protocol in place for moving the party, in an effort to keep the adventure flowing.
This should be something that helps us out with those who can't post all the time, but doesn't put anyone's PC at undue risk (i.e., nobody's hopefully stumbling into a pit cos they "didn't see" what happened in front of them — I've been there as a player, and it sucks.)
So what I'd like to establish is: marching order for single and double file, and a tacit agreement that everyone moves into a room when the lead PC believes it to be safe.
I'm open to other ideas that don't a) require me to search through pages of posts to find Standing Order #6.7; and b) make anyone else play your PC much more than rolling a d20 or so.
Contributions welcome.
Beleg the Galtan |
Unless Quiven wants to scout ahead of the party as he has been doing, Beleg has no problem being in the front line for both single and double file. You may roll Perception for Beleg if necessary. Technically his sword gets a check too since it is intelligent and can speak; I'll put it's modifier up when I have access to my computer later.
GM thunderspirit |
I do Take 10s with, for instance, Perception and Stealth checks routinely (unless someone specifically calls it out or something).
Like "did so-and-so overhear X?" Screw making all the checks...take 10 Perception vs. take 10 Stealth and move on.
Maddie Sykes |
Having a dungeon leader is a great idea. Although I think we would be best served having Quiven take the lead to check for traps (if he's willing), with all the other front-liners following behind him. Or at least have it understood Quiven checks for traps first even if someone else is taking the lead.
Maddie is happy somewhere in the middle/back.
The Amazing Dink |
Dink would like stay one step in front of the cleric. But, he's fine being in the back as he understands he's a wee bit harder to hit.
Taking 10 for me is cool, for sure.
Anything else that speeds up the game I'm usually in favor of...
Quiven Glist |
I think Quiven would have no problem following close behind Belag in single file or even along side of him if going side-by-side. Of course, if we want to be sneaky while peering around corners like we have here I can simply step up, do my thing, and then wave the group up and fall back in line behind Belag.
GM thunderspirit |
Done and done. I should have the next post up tomorrow morning.
GM thunderspirit |
FYI, I will be AFK most of this weekend helping out a fellow V-L at a nearby convention. I can (probably) post tomorrow morning (CDT), but after that I likely won't be back online until Sunday evening.
GM thunderspirit |
No worries. Once a day is the minimum; twice a day works fine.
The Amazing Dink |
Maybe somebody can help me with a bard question.
As I understand
if I'm using my Perform: Comedy in place of Intimidate to demoralize I would still follow the rules of Intimidate, correct?
Meaning, when demoralizing (Via Versatile Performance) a larger creature than yourself, you would be -4 for being smaller than your target.
I just happened to be reading a thread that suggested that since it was a performance and not an actual Intimidate that the penalty for being smaller would not apply.
I don't read it as such, but, I feel silly if I wasted a feat on Taunt if I didn't need to.
Thanks for any thoughts, rules clarifications.
