Here is the unclaimed loot. Speak up if you want anything:
Unclaimed from Topaz Solutions:
An acid flask
An alchemist's fire
Two vials of antitoxin
Three vials of holy water
Potion of Barkskin +2
From Faxon and the cultists:
Wand of cure moderate wounds (9 charges)
Bracers of armor +1
Cloak of resistance +1
2 potions cure light wounds
2 scrolls comprehend languages
1 scroll cause fear
Unholy water
2 masterwork glaives
2 masterwork chain shirts
2 daggers
From the chest:
5 holy symbols of Iomedae
masterwork longsword
masterwork scimitars
wand of bless weapon, 9 charges remaining
broken phylactery of faithfulness.
---
Sarkast could use the potion of Barskin, but then so could anyone. He could carry any of the splash weapons, but he usually runs directly into melee.

Nilus Romani |

Nilus doesn't really want anything.

Sarkast |

OK, so lacking further input, here is how I'm dividing loot. If you object to taking anything I force on you, say so.
Dejik:
3 +1 Flaming Arrows, Wand of cure moderate wounds (9 charges), 2 scrolls comprehend languages, 1 vial of holy water
Sarkast:
1 vial of holy water, potion of barkskin +2
Ayesha:
acid flask, Potion of Cure Light Wounds
Nilus:
Potion of Cure Light Wounds, 1 vial of holy water
Ronan:
alchemist's fire, Bracers of Armor +1
Questions:
wand of bless weapon (9 charges) - Ronan just bought one for party use before we went out last. Do we keep this one, or leave it with Defender's Heart?
Wand of Magic Missle (CL 3, 11 charges) - This was at Anevia's house. I don't show we sold it, and Ayesha is capable of using it. Do you want to hold on to it?
Sell / give to Defender's Heart:
Cloak of resistance +1
1 scroll cause fear
Unholy water
2 masterwork glaives
2 masterwork chain shirts
2 daggers
spell component pouches
5 holy symbols of Iomedae
masterwork longsword
masterwork scimitars
collection of expensive-looking silverware
broken phylactery of faithfulness.
Cash to be divided after seeing what Defender's Heart offers

Dejik |

I think the cloak of resistance should be useful to someone. Who has no resistance bonus yet? We can give it to whichever of us has the lowest saves.
Dejik can cast cause fear, but she's already carrying a scroll of it from Rowan. It might end up being useful to scare off a guard or looter or something. If we do have do an infiltration/spy mission, she'll hold on to the second one, also.

Dejik |

Also, Dejik has Rowan's wand of spiritual weapon, which is a medium range spell, but Dejik's vision is limited to close range.
If Ronan or Ayesha want to carry that wand and UMD it, it would be a lot more useful at the full 100 ft range.

Nilus Romani |

Updated Nilus' sheet with the potion and holy water. I think probably Sarkast might need the resistance cloak more than Dejik or I.
Can Ronan or Dejik use the scroll of cause fear?

GM SpiderBeard |

Annnd more loot to divide. From the gameplay thread:
- 8 potions of cure serious wounds
- 4 potions of lesser restoration
- 10 +1 evil outsider bane arrows
- A chime of opening
- Two cold iron shortspears
- A wand of protection from evil (31 charges)
- A wand of daylight (24 charges)

Sarkast |

Damn, where were those? I missed that completely!
EDIT: I read this before the gameplay, didn't see Aravashnial's post. :)
Sarkast will take the spears, since that is his primary weapon. He's the main door-opener, so he can carry the chime.
We only have one archer, so the arrows are easy.
1 potion of CSW each, with the extra three held by Dejik in case Life Link gets ahead of her, and redistribute as they get used.
Sarkast already has a potion of Lesser Resto, so 1 each to everyone else.
All that's left then is who wants which wand?

Dejik |

SpiderBeard, if Dejik picks up a Handy Haversack, would you allow other characters to retrieve items from, too? (Assuming they know the item is in there, that is.)
If so, any unclaimed loot that fits can go in there, and if anyone needs it, they can just grab it.

Sarkast |

Spiderbeard, the items I would like to see if Sarkast can find are:
Daredevil boots (Ultimate equipment, 1400gp)
Elixirs of Vision, Tumbling, and/or Hiding (250gp each)
Also, if we are using Defender's Heart as a base, he will leave some of his gear hear (particularly his bedroll and blanket).

GM SpiderBeard |

Everything is available except the elixir of tumbling.
Tumbling: 1d100 ⇒ 94
Hiding: 1d100 ⇒ 70
Vision: 1d100 ⇒ 23
Boots: 1d100 ⇒ 54

Dejik |

I think you mentioned there was a handy haversack available last time. Can we assume it's still here?
Ronan, do you have any cold iron crossbow bolts?
Alternatively, SpiderBeard, is there any Weapon Blanch available? (Oooooh! or a Weapon Blanch Bomb)
Ronan can use the wand of Protection from Evil without UMD, so I think he should carry that. That would be a nice buff to have handy for Jinxx.
Ayesha and Dejik can both cast Daylight, and Ronan can UMD the wand. It might be better if someone who can see the actual light conditions takes charge of the wand of Daylight, but Dejik will carry it if no one else wants it. (Dejik's blind sense is still affected by Deeper Darkness, so she'll know when we run into that.)

Dejik |

SpiderBeard,
The group found a book of war prayers with the cultists?. Is that a book of evil prayers (pinky to mouth)?
If it's just a normal book of war prayers, are those dedicated to any particular deity? Get +2 on your first save vs. fear each day is kind of nice, but I think we all worship different deities, and at least two of us probably won't be praying to anyone other than our patron.

Dejik |

Also, out of respect for Nilus, Dejik will look for some blunt arrows so she has a non-lethal combat option. (She'll still take the -4 penalty to do non-lethal with them, but she can't do non-lethal at all with normal arrows.)

Dejik |

Did we get an answer on the book of war prayers and the blunt arrows?

GM SpiderBeard |

You did not! Blunt arrows are available. Book of prayers is a mundane prayerbook dedicated to Baphomet. So no in-game bonuses from it. It can sell for 25 gold or get burned in a fire of righteous fury. Or donatd to a local orphanage. Your choice. :D Haversack is available.

Sarkast |

So ... tactics! ;-) I was pretty brief when I said why I was moving around, so I blame only myself ... my intent was to have Nilus and Irabeth get their attention and draw them forward, so that Sarkast could move around into flanking position. The Grease spell prevents one from moving, and also makes it harder for the archers (prone targets get an AC bonus vs ranged).
Not a big deal, and we're still learning how to best use our abilities with each other, so no worries. You've used your move to give me flank plenty of times! ;-)

Ayesha Jalal |

Kidneys, doc. Kidneys.
Edit: I realize you may not get the joke. It's the punchline from the only joke my granddad knew, and it's kind of an inside joke in my family. It gets tossed around so often I forget that most people have no idea what we are talking about.
Johnny had a severe learning disability, and every time he went to the doctor's office for a checkup, he and the doctor would play word games so the doctor could assess his development.
Today, the doctor said "Johnny, would you like to play a word game?"
"Oh yes, doc. That would be fun."
"Okay, I'm going to say a body part and you point to it. Ready? Nose."
Johnny smiled and pointed to his nose. "That was too easy, doc. Give me another."
The doctor grinned and said "Ear."
Johnny pointed to his ear. The game went on for a few minutes, with Johnny pointing to his eyes, knees, elbows, and ankles. Finally, the doctor finished his exam and said, "Johnny, that was pretty good. How'd you know all that?"
Johnny just grinned and pointed to his head. "Kidneys, doc. Kidneys."

Sarkast |

Wow. When I saw your post originally, the only thing I could think of what that basic joke (slight variation, told as an "Aggie joke"*). I figured there was no way that was your reference, and just scratched my head and moved on. :-)

Nilus Romani |

Smashingly good job I say!

GM SpiderBeard |

Awesome! Thanks so mcuh for the work on the journal. And yeah, I'm delighted at the pace we're keeping. PbP has a glacial pace as is and so I'm always trying to push things to the next content just a little bit to keep it moving and fresh.
