Thanks a lot again Kiley for moving things up. We are having something special here, I think we should not feel pressed to pick up the first person showing up. For a game that should last for years we can easily spend some weeks deciding who should lead it.
The decision to GM an AP, either by PbP or in real life, is not that one you take in a couple of hours or even days (and if you do it you probably have not weighted the effort it takes).
I do not say we should expect to find a GM who has run an entire AP in PbP format and completed it, but at least someone that has closed up successfully a couple of short adventures or keeps running an AP after a long period should be feasible.
After all, convincing someone who is serious about investing her or his time on letting others explore their crazy ideas while letting them take down all their villain plans and destroy her or his cute minions takes some time, don't you agree? xD
On my side, I do not mind taking a couple or more weeks looking for potential GMs. I would not say no to anyone, neither yes. But you can count, if solid players take days to decide applying for a game, I fear consolidated GMs take even longer. It is not an easy decision.
I think giving too much hopes to someone or too few will restrain other potential GMs that might be weighting if they want to take our game. And it might cause affront and frustration among the people that in good will decides to apply. I know we will not find people competing to be our GM, but it is also a good measure of the patience of potential candidates.
My vote is be patient on this and give people their time.
Meanwhile I think you are doing a very good job keeping the flame alive :)
I don't think we need to wait weeks, though. I'd like to give KyleS a shot since I know he's pretty good about posting, and from what I've seen, the only time he actually quit a game outright was when he had to deal with some personal issues.
Honestly, I don't think we're going to find more than one or two people who would be willing to take over as a GM, and that's based on what I've seen on the boards here. It's a lot easier to find players than it is GMs because GMing a game is time consuming and takes a lot of thought, like you said, and that can be intimidating. It also doesn't help if you don't have a good idea of what direction to go in, and I'm a little to wrapped up in Kiley's head to get that idea.
Besides that, we're at a pretty good point to bring in a new GM, and if I continue this for however long we wait, I'd either have to stall or just not post until we decided on a GM. Anyone who'd be willing to GM would probably move on and start their own game, and there's no guarantee that someone else would be interested.
Sorry if I come off as confrontational, that was not my intent.
Hey everyone, I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone for letting me take over and run this awesome game you all have going on. Do any of you have questions for me that you'd like to ask or have any preferences on what you'd like me to do? I'm not quite sure as Crispy was running things, so I wouldn't want to mess anything up as to what he was doing behind the scenes. Also feel free to message me with any details about your characters that I should know about as I do like to involve my players with more than just the known adventure!
Just a heads up, in case you missed it, I'm starting up a Fate Core game. Currently I'm recruiting, so if you are interested, check the thread here: Recruitment Thread
I'm actually a little shocked by the lack of interest. I understand that APs and Pathfinder games are the most popular, but it's surprising what the difference is.
Also, I think GM KLS wanted me to get everyone back together first, so Just out of curiosity, where did Tal run off to?

Actually I lied, I do know generally how that system works. I bought the first two dresden files rpg boks back when they first came out. Never ended up doing anything with them but I did read through them.
I'd be interested if you have a link to the recruitment thread and a prd site for it.

Welcome to the team KLS :)
Crispy was allowing us to skip some encounters through diplomacy or simply partially exploring the dungeons and buildings to met our goals.
As to what he was having behind the scenes, I have no idea. My feeling is he was just following what the AP is saying. Which is more than ok for me, less effort for the GM, more time for playing ^_^ But I do not really know the AP so I cannot really judge.
Perhaps once KLS is ready to pick this up, we can just assume Tal is ok and let's his parents help us, so he or Salsa can solve this point in GM narration mode (to push the energy up again) on how the Darkariel's friend spell reveals a clue of where to find Jessica and Kiley, then I send Ghina to pick up Wicked Grace and Elisai and how we finally met together at some place to rescue them.
As about Fate, I am thankful for your offer Kiley. I do lack the mental energy to learn a new system though and keep playing in two different systems at the same time. Sorry :/
No worries, I am around. Just lettin you guys do your thing until you want to call it for the day and then I push things forward. Unless Monday night comes first, then I'll push things forward Monday night when I get home from work.

DM KLS, I try to keep updated a small diary of our adventures. I always keep a link in my status bar and just thought it might be of help for you or the others to refresh the main events.
You all are invited to add or modify the content, it is an open document.
Yea, I've notice that Delendir, I appreciate it. That will come in handy for when I need a quick reference of the past events. If Crispy doesn't return for you guys by years end, then I'll put in a request for the thread to be put in my control, so that way I can put these links up top.

That's kind of what I was trying to find out before I just went ahead and threw stuff out there. Of which Jessica, if you wouldn't mind giving me a PM of some potential ideas of some of the clergy you had grown up with, that way I don't wind up going completely off the wall blindly here lol. And that applies for everyone else as well at some point. I'd like to have the chance to incorporate some things more specific towards your characters, but some more details would definitely help towards creating that.

It seems we have staggered somehow at this point.
It might help to state each of us what we are waiting for.
In my case I am waiting for us to decide where to follow up our adventures in order to provide KLS with a guidance of what to prepare for. I vote for the Floxglove manor to investigate the Brothers of the Seven that controlled Aldern.

I was giving him time to fill in the details of the Temple since I sent him the info he asked for, it took me longer than I expected so part of this is my fault.
Sorry for my absence the past few days guys. Been kinda hectic this week, not exactly one of my best weeks. I have gotten a few messages from you guys, so I am keeping some of that stuff in mind, I'm really hoping to have a post for you if not tomorrow, then Friday. If all goes well with everything hoping to settle down, then I'll be able to post way more frequently than once every few days.

Happy holidays all. I would've posted more in the game play thread but I was trying to give others a chance before I did so. If there isn't something tomorrow I'll go ahead and do so.

Oh I'm still interested but it's been the holidays and trying not to step on anyone else who might want to say anything as a consequence.
I am ok with playing up further the temple connection Jessica, I was just concerned with all what has happened the game has not seen much advancement in the last months and now a couple of weeks have passed with just few posts, and no one has said anything despite you have stated clearly you wanted to share the spotlight and wished someone else to explain what has happened.
Perhaps you will have to lead the interactions at this point, they seem to fit better to you. Do not fear to lead it whatever way you want it to go, we all have demonstrated we have no problems adding to the PC and NPCs interactions whenever we see fit :)
I mean, I am ok if you let your things go even if it feels just a conversation between you and the priestess, I am sure it will not happen like that, we have very solid roleplayers in this group who will accompany you through by sure.

I don't think it has anything to do with Jessica, really. Or with any of us. Right now, we're waiting on the GM. We can't interact without the NPC to interact with. Which isn't a slam on the GM. This is the holidays. All games slow down during the holidays. :)

Yep, pretty much what happens during the holidays is things grind to a halt. It'll pick back up after New Year's day, I think. Don't worry, sometimes real life gets in the way and things slow down.
So am I to guess that you guys are sorta backish? Because I've had since... *looks a his watchless wrist* the 23rd with absolutely nothing to do, and this seems to be occurring until the 4th of next year... So yeah, I've got plenty of time to post, I just don't want to be posting after every single character response is all, but I will seriously do that lol.

For me 24-26 was the busiest. Now we still have 31-1 and 6 here, but plenty of time to post too.
It is ok for me to see multiple posts, specially if they are relevant to current action or dialogue, and double specially if one day passes without no one posting. I sort of believe it is important for all players and GM to add posts regularly, even if you have nothing to add, just as a sort of say 'I am here following the action'. In real life it is easy to tell if people is following you, but PbP seems to benefit much more from making it known more explicitly.
By the way, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all :)
I have pretty much just walked in from my xmas celebration with the family. Things probably wont settle until the 25th of Janurary when I start my new job, and when finding accomodation etc is largely sorted, but I'll try keeping up the posting while the crunch is going on!
