While we wait, a little about me.
Hi everyone! I'm your friendly-ish neighborhood GM! My name is Cory and I'm 37, living in Maryland (USA) and working in the ever booming IT field. Married, technodweeb father of three boys who loves Legos, Bocce and Board games.
Oh, and Pathfinder.
I've been playing Pathfinder for about two years now or so, I run a monthly local PFS group with my friends. As for PbP, I have been GM'ing two Rise of the Runelord PbP Campaigns for over a year now on my own forums and here on Paizo's forums I'm GM'ing PFS4-11 as well as playing in multiple games - Skulls & Shackles, Savage Tide and a Rise of the Runelords. Before Pathfinder I played quite a bit of World of Darkness stuff, you know, that vampire phase everyone goes through? ;)
As you noticed, I like Pathfinder quite a bit and keep myself pretty busy on it throughout the day. On a given day I'll be on the Paizo forums ten or twelve times, so I should always be fairly responsive and try my best to keep the game moving along.
Don't feel pressured to introduce yourself if you wanna hide behind the veil of mystery and intrigue - I'm just filling the void.
Welcome to the game and I hope everyone has a good time!

I am Jelani...I am ancient beyond reckoning and dwell in the dark places between the stars (married, living in China as an English teacher/student). I post a lot normally, love pen and paper RPGS, and have been playing them about 15 years now. PBPing for over two years now. PFSing for a few more than that, but not often until recently, when I got back into PFS through PBP.

Hi!
I'm Phil, and I'm a lifelong game dork who feeds his habits by teaching university mathematics. I've been playing PFS since January, but this is my first PbP experience (as I mentioned in the recruitment thread).
Did I miss anything you need in the stat line, ShadowLord?

I am Kris ... former rescue helicopter pilot now making a living as a "Big Data Architect" ... or so it says on my company business card at any rate. Been playing RPGs for over 35 years now, starting with the original D&D. Recently picked up Pathfinder with my son at GenCon 2014, so I am just starting out with this system. I have done a fair amount of Play by eMail ... I imagine PbP is not much different.
I am also a Board Game nut and I play Confrontation and Warmachines TTGs.
Oh yeah ... grew up in Oxon Hill, PG County, MD ... where you at homey?

Hello all!
Another Phil here. I'm currently in Tennessee and have a few years of RPG experience. I have been a part of PFS for the last three years or so, serving as VC of Memphis for about two years of that time. I am just getting into PbP as my family demands quite a bit of my free time.
I'm getting a wand of CLW for this adventure, but will have to have someone else employ it.
Nice to meet you all.

If I'm reading the CRB correctly, six pounds of freshly butchered game bird (pheasant or its Golarion-analogue), a gallon of ale, and a ten-foot ladder run 4 gp. Does that sound reasonable to everyone as an offering to Togg?

![]() |

I'm glad to finally join a group that is actually playing the game instead of just charging through each encounter in the scenario. Admittedly, I have only played Modules thus far on PbP.
I am enjoying the change. And I love the way you are portraying Grym!

![]() |

Ok ... I think the dwarves language shtick is way cool ... where do you get the translations from?

![]() |

Yes, I use google translate. This happens to Ukrainian, keeping in line with what Grym used.
There are many languages available. It's kind of fun to play with. I have no idea how good the translations are, but they look good.

GM ShadowLord |

I apologize if I'm running a little slower today, I'm down in Dallas for a few days and being away from my "stuff" means it takes me longer to reply. Hopefully I can continue to keep pace!
I love using Google translate for other languages. I have an oracle who speaks Russian, I mean Infernal.

![]() |

Urdu doesn't sound very elvish to me. Gaelic or something would be closer in my opinion.
I speak German and decent Chinese. It's funny when German comes up in games, run through a translator. It's always wrong.

I am moving back to the U.S. from Belgium over the next week or so, might be a bit inactive. If you want to bot me for a few days, feel free -- I'll sleep hex (preferred) or evil eye hex (usually AC) in most combats.

Hey Gang I hope everyone is looking forward to a great weekend!
Thanks for the heads up Zeb, I'll let everyone else go and if we're down to waiting on you I'll GMPC you. Good luck with your move!
I'm going to be running some games for PFS PbP Gameday 3. We have enough tables that we should be able to get a boon for playing in the games as well.
The games start November 1st and I think we can probably be done this game by then or shortly afterwards that week.
Is everyone here interested in continuing on with another scenario after this? If so, any requests? I'd like to hear from everyone to know if I have enough or need to recruit more to fill the slots.

![]() |

I am most definitely interested in continuing; I would be somewhat interested in #3-09: Quest for Perfection for Taicho.

![]() |

I appreciate the offer, but my life is looking very hectic in November and I am probably going to step away from gaming for a couple months to keep things from spiraling out of control.
Hopefully I will see some of you again in the new year!

![]() |

Unfortunately, I've already played the entire Quest for Perfection arc with my paladin. Is The Cyphermage Dilemma available?
Best of luck with the move, Zeb, and good luck with your November, Bear!

![]() |

Sure ... I have not played that one either. Probably a different character though ... as I have a summoner that wants to grow up to be a Cyphermage :-)

![]() |

Indeed ... this is very annoying :-)

![]() |

I'm back in the U.S. and have an actual internet connection for the first time in 10 days. Jet lagged tonight, but I'll catch-up and start posting again tomorrow.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't enjoy the darkness either and find it also to be bothersome. It really slows down the pace and frustrates everyone.
Hey, it could be deeper darkness, so I don't want to complain. Y'know, in case Paizo monitors these threads. :-)

![]() |

Okay, this is a bit of metagaming, but could we make a Knowledge (arcana) or Spellcraft check about how the darkmantle's spell-like ability works? If so, I have an idea that may accelerate the encounter greatly.
Phil knows something about darkness that Grym doesn't, and I'm desperate to put this to use.

![]() |

Target: object touched
Since the aura didn't move when the darkmantle did, I'm guessing it was carrying a pebble that it dropped at the center.
Like I said, it's metagaming, but I get the feel this is wearing on us all.
