I think I'm in a similar place to you, GM, wrt volume of games at least.

I'm also happy to take a turn at GM'ing, subject to not ending up on multiple rotation duties simultaneously of course. I much enjoy this group.

I would like to put Sleeping Sword (my dhampir) through Tome of Righteous Repose, but that doesn't have to be the next scenario.

Agreed. My life doesn't have busy life periods per se, so it's easy for me to fill in. I normally only run one table at a time, but it would be easy for me to add this as an occasional second table, especially given the established relaxed pacing that we have.

I've played Tome enough times but I've never run it. I've even played it with Our Great Lady as the GM. I'd be happy to run it next, especially if a Certain Someone lets me steal borrow her aforementioned slides. It would also actually allow me to put the credit on a character (Lady Vanessa) that I wouldn't have sent on that mission, so it would work out.

Since it looks like basically everyone is okay with switching to more of a loose-GM volunteer-rotation after this scenario, I think I'll take you guys up on the offer. Thank you!

Nomadical, if you don't mind running Tome next that'd be great - especially since I think supervillan would like to do the same route that I ran for you and the other group. That way you don't have to play it again (even though I know you said you didn't mind). I've also never played Tome, so there's that as well :)

Now the next fun part is deciding who I ought to play. My options within the group's general level spread:

Soddy Daisy: 5th Leshy Alchemist
Fran: 6th Half-Elf Witch
Corona: 7th Human Time Oracle

All three of them are probably some of my favorite 1e characters and I think each of them would have some fun interactions with the rest of the group.

I've played or GMed with/for all 3 of them, and they're all some of my favorites, too :)

And this is exactly *why* we play campaign-style RPGs: to give voice to our characters. I enjoy GMing, but I wouldn't do it if I couldn't also play more than I ran.

@Lady, just give me a heads up when we go into the Final scene of this one so I've got time to prep.

Do we keep using this thread/campaign as we rotate?

@Nomadical - Will do! And I've got no problem with you making use of my slides; I'll pull out a link to them when you're about ready to start your prep.

As far as which campaign thread to use, I'm content to go with whatever the majority wants. If it's easier to keep everything to this one then I can just edit in the links to maps and stuff for whoever's running at the time. But if folks prefer to have their own campaign thread for a game, I have no problem with that either.

I just finished playing in a PaizoCon PBP where she played her oracle Corona. She didn't post much the last several days, I presume due to her work schedule. Hopefully she can finish this one up, then I'll run Tome and she can take a break and play/post at a pace that fits her lifestyle. (Which I totally get.)

More seriously, yes, I'm still interested in finishing out this scenario and switching to a more rotation-oriented system going forward. Keeping my active games low has been working fairly well so that's what I'm looking to run with for the time being.

While it was fun to play Corona again (and the combo of her + Hepsubia might be enough absurdity to make a person's brain melt) I'm leaning towards bringing Soddy Daisy into the group once we're done with this scenario. I've missed playing her and unlike Corona & Fran, I've yet to make a PFS 2e version of her.

Sorry, but no, another opportunity missed.

Cons and events that span across the month line, or that sit right up against it are the hardest for me to attend. Our flying schedules are built on the calendar month, and I have to commute to/from Alaska at the beginning/end of each trip. So to do an event that spans the month line, I have to ensure I'm getting my pick of schedules for 2 different months. And I won't even get the results for the second month until late in the first. So, anything like that (like SkalCon being on 29 Sep - 1 Oct) just isn't usually worth trying to make happen for me. Sorry.

Dr. O'Mayga:
He's a samsaran Doctor that studies the interaction between life and death, especially as it relates to the moment of death and the crossing into the River of Souls. It bother him that samsarans get a free pass to get reincarnated over and over again. Why does Pharasma allow this? So he's committed to this being his finale - the Omega of his incarnations, yes - and he's going to achieve it through Science!

Alas, Skalcon isn't in the cards for me this year due to having other plans and such happening. I'd originally hoped to get to the next in-person PaizoCon but with the bulk of their workforce transitioning to remote work and them closing the Redmond offices I'm starting to doubt if we'll have another one in-person.

So, depending on what they announce about PC early next year...maybe Skalcon 2024 for me? I'd definitely like to do it, since it seems that's the next best con to meet up with forum friends (that or maybe Origins?, which I could actually drive to). I've also never been to Minneapolis so there's that, too!

Sadly, that's what I think too. I don't believe the "~ outsourcing" of the Live Con to KublaCon in San Francisco over the traditional Paizo-con weekend this year was a coincidence.

Goodness me. Doesn't Paizo understand what they are doing to my forum-friend social life? :)

Oops, yeah, I should have remembered that from when Holan-Ji made such good use of it.

I included it based on the typo in GM's "Active Conditions" line that says "+2 to non-weapon damage".

Malachi does have 10' reach with both a tentacle and his lucerne hammer. Can't attempt a grab - but could try a trip with an AoO, unless the asura has some kind of movement shenanigans going on? It has certainly moved through threatened squares.

Mal's tentacles give bonuses to Dirty Trick manoeuvres, but not to grapples, oddly enough.

Go for it, if you like! I will say that the asura basically has some stuff that lets it treat a certain amount of difficult terrain as normal terrain.

I could make some arguments both ways but no real need. I’ll vote to fight it out, a lot of fun in this game is the interesting fights.

Hmm...we've got one vote to bypass the fight and one vote to stay in combat but with no other comments here on the matter as well as no combat posts in Gameplay, I'm going to go ahead and make an executive decision to let you guys skip the fight so we can wrap things up. You lose out on some gold but otherwise there's no effect on your overall success or on prestige earned.

(This is not me throwing shade; I'm aware I've let the scenario drag on way too long and that's never good for player engagement. I also know a few folks have been busier than usual with IRL stuff lately as well + current Gameday obligations.)

Give me a bit to get a Gameplay post written up and we'll go from there~

Whilst I was certainly expecting some sort of final confrontation with the Aspis, I did not think it would be one dude with a snake. What a weird encounter.

I am intrigued as to the mechanics of the sneak attack round full attack though, if possible could you share how that happens?
