Happy Halloween to those that celebrate! Got my pumpkins carved, candy ready, porch light on and dressed up in my skeleton kigurumi. Now to see if any trick-or-treaters stop by - and if not, it was still fun to carve pumpkins and dress up :)

Hehe. I think my Halloween was (unsurprisingly) quite different than y'all's. I was in Bangkok over the weekend, and nearly every bar was having costume night for their bar-girls, and the discos were packed with costumed revelers. It was pretty crazy.
Then on Monday, I flew to Siem Reap, Cambodia. The main party district is Pub Street, and it was full of families and people, many in costume. But "Trick-or-Treating" isn't a thing here; Halloween is just an excuse to dress up in a costume and party.
(Then today, I saw a huge swarm of small dragonflies at Angkor Wat, helpfully eating all the mosquitos now that the rainy season is over. Reminded me of a certain Tygger's other form and my friends on this table.)
I hope GM got rid of all of her candy successfully!

This is one of those times when complete lack of knowledge of the preceding plot points makes my RP not very interesting.
This is an unusual number of callbacks to earlier scenarios, and they're having a real impact too.
This scenario was on my "to play" list for Malachi for its Exchange faction links, but I didn't know that his earlier scenarios would be quite so relevant! It's nice to see, but I appreciate that the connection isn't there for other PCs.

Heck, it's a little awkward for your GM since I've never GMed two of the four potential callback scenarios and the two that I've played (Signs in Senghor & Consortium Compact) were ages and ages ago. Had to go pull up the relevant scenarios to get some context on how to work them in here :)
That said, this first part is pretty much the only section where the callbacks will be relevant. There's potential for one a little later on in the scenario but no one had the requisite chronicle for it.

It's lucky you can't see a tengu blush, Dr O ;)
As for cover identity, his business interests are mainly on the level (fruit and veg sales), so "Captain Green"? I originally envisaged a redemption arc story for Malachi - a violent pirate shaped into a respectable, even scholarly, warrior and businessman by the Pathfinder Society. The heavy revision/nerf to Lore Warden meant that in order to keep to the plan for "tako-tengu" aspect of the character I had to drop Lore Warden for Untamed Rager, which weakens the mechanical reflection of the character development. Untamed Rager ain't no scholar :(

Hey folks, I'm still alive. There's been some things going on IRL on my end that've been taking up my time and mental bandwidth lately, on top of work and today's US holiday. I can't guarantee that I'll get around to catching up today since I'll be spending time with family, but I will do my best to do so later tonight or tomorrow.
A close relative has been dealing with some serious depression and it got to a point I was genuinely worried for their physical safety. They're thankfully working on asking for/getting help and opening up more to the rest of the family and friends about what they're dealing with. Still worried about them, obviously, but things don't seem quite so dire now.
In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate and Happy Thursday to those who do not or who live elsewhere in the world :)

But I really can't complain, as after a quick layover, I'm now in Manila. I'll be diving in Palawan by mid-week and get to see both of my gf's within the next 2 weeks.

A (belated) Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or Happy Sunday to you all! We've had a wonderful, if busy, holiday weekend here and today is a designated stay-at-home day to chill and recuperate before the inevitable return to work tomorrow evening. Thankfully no frozen pipes or extended power outages here, but the unusually low temps did see some rolling blackouts on Friday & Saturday from the TVA due to strain on the power grid.
As regards our game, I've not forgotten you. I'd like to tentatively get us going again after New Year's to allow for everyone to more or less wrap up their holiday activities and to allow for me to close out a couple of other games I'm either GMing or participating in. Hopefully that'll work for everyone :)

In lieu of any kind of resolution (which I don't really do) I have decided that, with PF1e clearly on the wane on these boards, it's high time I actually launched the Rokugan campaign I've been brewing up. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it here once or twice.
Basically a D&D3.p campaign set in the L5R world. I've enough material already to go from level 1 to around 8.
Anyone interested? I've already got Maria/Pete on board and will ask around my regular players before considering open recruitment.

Okay, so...there's finally a Gameplay update and potentially things for people to do! Let's see if I can make my updates more frequent than every 2 & 1/2 months going forward, eh? :)
@supervillan - I really appreciate the offer and the setting/primer looks super-cool, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass for the time being. If I get back to where I feel more confident in making a long-term commitment to a game, I might check back in with you on this.
@All - Thanks for checking in with me here and there while we've been on this unplanned hiatus. Nothing bad is going on on my end, just juggling life as usual and trying to figure out what I want my level of PbP activity and commitment to be, going forward. Mal's not necessarily expecting one of the party to go off with the elf wizards - it's more of a ploy to push them into saying "no no, we're competent and we don't need your help". If they do leave us alone, Mal's got a jolly boat he can use to get the prisoner out too (and everyone else if we want).

They don't look right either. I was granted 17 1e replays when they closed out the campaign, but now my account shows only 8 for 1e. Plus the 4 2e and 6 SFS replays now on my account tab, the numbers don't add up.
And how will they report using replays from other sources, like faction boons, GM stars and Infinite Narratives, or those 2e replays that some GMs can give out?

Yeah, I'm showing 12 1e replays remaining, but I don't think that's accounted for use of Expanded Narrative, the renewable replay GM boon, which has given me several replays, and which to my knowledge has no tracking beyond what I fill out on the printed boon sheets.

Latest Update regarding replays.
It's a pretty simple post, but clarifies a few things.
*All players (current and future) start with 2 replays, with the possibility of additional replays (see below).
*The formula for additional replays is 2 replays for every 50 games played or GMed in the program prior to February 18, 2023.
*GMs will earn one replay for each GM rank they achieve. Additionally, on January 1st of each year we will run a report to grant GMs one replay per GM rank for each active system (this makes me concerned they may inactivate pfs1 at some point).
*Additional replays for PFS2 and SFS can be purchased at a rate of 40 Achievement Points per replay.

This is granting the effect of the Expanded Narrative boon to all GMs, and is a good thing - not just because the boon can't be tracked online.

On a more serious note and in reference to my last post on the subject, my interest level in PbP has been at a wane for the last several months. Wildly fluctuating interest levels in hobbies isn't unusual for me to begin with but I've also been trying to spend more time actually doing things with friends/family, tackling small projects around the house, and working on getting into better shape so I've had less free time than usual.
Another factor is that while I've made it work for quite a while, I'm getting tired of worrying about fitting in posts before/during/after my work shifts. So lately I've just...not, unless I actually had the time and felt like posting. And honestly, it's felt great to not have to worry about it.
(Is that something I *should've* been worried about? No, probably not, but my brain is dumb.)
However, since I basically work for a week (with one night off in the middle) and then am off for a week (with one work shift in the middle) not posting much/at all when I'm working doesn't gel super-well with playing in or GMing a bunch of games, especially anything that needs to be time-sensitive unless it's, like, a 2e bounty. So I've continued to pare down my games accordingly - this is now my only current GM table and I have three games as a player (one 2e AP, one PFS 1e GM rotation, one PFS 2e GM rotation). Having the reduced number of player games has been really helpful so now I'm going to see what I can do about getting things moving again here. I know I've said that before and the follow-through has been shaky, so...I guess just bear with me and we'll see how things go? Once we finish this scenario we can reevaluate things as a group and see how people feel about continuing onward or not.
Hopefully that works for everyone.
*edit* Not that I *want* to wrap things up but I also understand that things aren't as fun if the posting is slow and/or inconsistent.

Welcome back! {Big Cat hugs all around}
I was actually a little surprised to see you take on House GM for the PF2 special. So I figured we were on hiatus until Outpost was over given that addition to your workload.
As a Pharasmin, Doc and Hogo would understand that all things must end.
Holan-Ji will find new adventures, make new friends, and eat new things in new parts of the world (as his player does.) And without fail, he'll run across his old friends somewhere unexpected someday.
That said, do we want to consider converting this group to a rotational GM system (with or without the Great Lady?)
Personal aside: I actually ran into 2 old pilot friends this past week. One I hadn't seen or heard from in 20+ years and the other for over 10 years. It was great to catch up, and unlikely that I'll see either of them again for many many years. But it was still nice.

Thanks, folks! I would certainly be open to shifting this table to a GM rotation one, if enough people would like to do so. If we go that route, I've even got a couple of characters that are 6th & 7th level that could slot right in if need be.
As for Outpost and other things, I had to give it a bit of a think before committing to House GMing but it was easiest for me to tackle since we've had some turnover and changes in the Online VO ranks lately. Luckily most of the prep work was already taken care of by GM Dennis when he House GMed so I already had slide decks, text formatted for PbP & Discord, etc. ready to go. That said, you'll notice that if I House GM during a convention I don't GM anything nor do I usually play at any tables.
I did submit to run a bounty/bounties for PaizoCon Online's PbP section this year but I don't know if I'll be selected for that or not. Haven't heard anything yet, at any rate.

I'm certainly amenable to a GM rotation, but I do need to be careful as my multiple GM rotations can sometimes rotate into me GMing every game I'm in. :)

Same :)
I think that if we go the GM rotation route we could probably do it as less of a strict ordered rotation and perhaps on more of a volunteer basis, so as to avoid the above or having someone's turn come around during a (projected) busy life period or whatnot.
